I'd love to see your reaction to the processing areas of any respectable datacentre. I've never worked in a quiet one, and have been in a couple that were bordering on requiring hearing protection. 15K spindles need serious cooling too, although the storage arrays are generally quieter than the processing arrays.

If you lived in then UK there is a renderfarm that is notorious among local network tech's/sysadmins for being painfully loud after prolonged exposure. Your ears ring like you have been to a fairly loud gig when you come out of it. The fact that 190CFM Delta's were specced for the cooling inside the nodes is a large factor, as these are over 60dB individually. 4 per node, 250 nodes (Cooling 4P 3.2Ghz Prescotts based Xeon's IIRC, due to be upgraded to Opteron 6172's shortly).

Well, the taskbar occupies the same amount of space irrespective of where it's placed. I put it on top out of personal preference arising from Linux use, but it works well either way.

And you must have some pretty crazy OCD if a rounded window edge bothers you. I mean, when I use a computer, I use it do stuff, not stare at the decor...

I use Windows classic on xp, vista, and 7. That doesn't make it a good interface.

Reminds me of a good friend of mine gives out to me whenever she uses my computer because I don't use Ad Block Pro, claiming that she finds ads distract her from what she's doing. I usually retort "Well, I just don't look at the ads I guess..."

Sooner or later I will switch to tiling window managers...

Well if that person is going on websites plastered with ads, I doubt it's any sort of professional work... so then what's the point? Do you honestly need focus for something like facebook or twitter? No!

I just use IE8 without flash installed. Gets rid of most of the ads from hotmail.

The only problem I encountered with IE was opening huge pages of text, I mean tomes all on a single HTML page totalling hundreds of MB. Otherwise it's fine.

But I use firefox mostly now, it can handle huge text documents with ease.

Said person doesn't use those sites. Ads are everywhere on the internet. They even used to be here at one point. And then -

I migrated to Firefox from IE, but they are both not comparable to Chrome for speed and stability ATM.

Example:- Play Youtube videos on Firefox and IE and you'll find they both crash, whereas Chrome is stable.

I always liked Firefox especially with the Noia theme Add-On installed, but until Firefox 4.0 is released, I'll be sticking with Chrome.

Chrome is nice.  It's fast and simple, but I think at times it's a little too spartan.  The tweakability is pretty lackluster (cache and history handling, e.g.) and I really miss a dedicated search bar.  That said, other than not looking like a native app, the animations and other graphical details are very nice.

I like Chrome especially the Browser Synchronization between my Desktops and the Laptop (use one comp and the Bookmarks ecetera are automatically updated on other comps), neat. I will switch back to Firefox when version 4.0 releases, mainly because of its' vast array of Add-Ons.
Silly me have become sentimentally attached to the Blue Shade Background/Cleaner Look (no and Border in Toolbar) options of Noia 2.0 Extreme. Clear sunny sky look. Beautiful.
Curious as to what IE 9 .............

To me, the latest version of Opera is like Chrome without a lot of the bad points.
