    Yea. Thank you!
It's symmetrical and save money for keycaps. Haha. :p

Definitely looks interesting, I'll be keeping my eyes on this one.

That bottom row looks really interesting, definitely a different look from the standard WKL look most custom TKLs go for. One thing I have a potential problem is in the

Because I can't live without my split back space.  :'(

That engraving looks really sick though, definitely the best part of the board hands down. Though I do wonder, is the color of the engraving changeable or are we forced to use red?

Definitely share the same opinion in regards to the bottom row being really interesting.

Won't be able to join this round but if there's ever a second round, would prefer to have the underside (brass weight?) changed since I find the engraving to be a little bit too "in your face" with the branding, IMHO.

Unfortunately only the standard ANSI layout is supported this time as it will require the redesigning of the PCB. And yes you could choose custom color as well as custom text on the name badge!

The engraving part on the weight is just the initial and sample design. I agree it is somewhat "in your face" and we are open for suggestions for more refined designs. Any opinions is considered and appreciated.

You say that this supports standard ANSI - but i still see a stepped caps lock. And that does not bode well for the "standard".
Will it come with stepped caps or normal?

    IC form updated: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSex_5q8GvnG4VRvzoyn0eyyLmjNn7gFdeRjKv_q8cNXGducZQ/viewform?c=0&w=1
Please fill out the form if you are interested, it helps a lot.

Please keep in mind that we won't likely see any major changes in the final product. I think we should focus on the weight design and limited/founder edition from now on. Other layouts/suggestions will definitely be considered in future designs (if it happens of course...)

I'm going to paste some of my feedback from the IC form here:

The top of the board looks especially nice! I have three pieces of feedback.

    1) The cutouts on the bottom that allow for the side lighting is a bit aggressive-looking. I think it would be nicer if it were smoothed out a bit. (This is totally subjective. This reminds me of some of the angles from the TANK, which I wasn't a fan of.)

    2) The weight has too much text on it. I think it would look much better if the designers names were removed and it was just the logo and E8-V1.

    3) If the designers names cannot be removed, there needs to either be more space added between "Designed by E-Team" and the names or more space between E8-V1 and "Designed by E-Team". Right now it looks like they're just misaligned.

    Thanks!

For the name plate, you can give us the design. We will try to do it as you want. It can be customized. But I will calculate the customize price. It will be a bit higher. But not too much.

I also forgot to mention, is it possible to have a detachable cable option? I like the look, but I can imagine it being a little annoying to store away with a cable attached to it.
Yea I know. It depends on PCB. Anw, you will get a nice USB cable for free. Haha.

    1. Yes this is very subjective, perhaps we'll see a more classic and less-aggressive looking in future designs.

2 and 3. I'll have the weight remade and post the redesign on here soon!

Totally agree with you. It's very unique and is why I'm interested in this GB. But honestly, I'd reprogram the right gui key to app (right click) since I use it way too frequently.

With the LED light hole style, i can see that, what intrigues me the most with this (and to an extent, the matrix series boards) is the unique bottom row. I am not a fan of anything that isnt winkeyless... but i also really like the way this stands out. if i can save up enough, then maybe. depends if this is super exclusive like the matrix is. not really interested in fighting for a 1/10 slot or anything of the sort tbh

Upon a closer review, I'd like to change one thing. Could you change the screws on the bottom to hex instead of Phillips? Not only do they look better, but they will last longer. Also, adding the option to match screws to the color of the weight would be pretty cool  :thumb:

But that bottom row is what makes this! There are so many standard WKL options out there and there's always another one right around the corner

True but it wouldnt be too difficult to offer a WKL option as well. I havent seen any good WKL board offerings other than OTD, Matrix, or Camp. And i only use PBT OG Cherry so WKL is an important feature for me.

Meh, try something new for a change!

I kid, I kid. But multiple top options and increased PCB complexity would most likely increase the manufacturing costs.

Totally agree with you. It's very unique and is why I'm in tested in this GB. But honestly, I'd reprogram the right gui key to app (right click) since I use it way too frequently.

This is stunning. I will join this GB when its ready.

I asked in my form that we have the option to buy multiple bolt-on logo blocks with different anodizing. For example, if i want a blue one for Hydro GMK, a Purple for Hyperfuse, and Orange for Carbon... It would be cool to just buy a few (or a rainbow pack?) to have on hand.

You can program the keyboard and LEDs via BootmapperClient.

Yes you can buy as many extras as you like.

siiigh with all the TKLs about to drop, I believe this to be one I cannot miss

Price+differentiating design choices makes this very appealing~

I'm happy to hear you were able to achieve a detachable usb on pcb!

I'd love to see more samples of the colors  :thumb:

Thanks! I will have more color samples updated soon, the factory is now closed because of Lunar New Year.

Do we know how reprogramming the board and programming the underglow will work?

You can program the keyboard and LEDs via BootmapperClient.

UPDATE: I'm thinking of offering microarc oxidation surface treatment with white/beige color for Founders/limited edition (and with individual numbering), what do you guys think?

    Microarc oxidation? Any pictures?

Can I reserve my spot for the Founders/Limited Edition?  ;)

You can just go ahead and save me a spot in the Founders/Limited edition then ;). I'm very excited to see that as an option and hope I can get in!

That's actually an awesome idea, I'd be kinda interested in that, myself.

this is the PEO "porcelain" finish that was offered and then withdrawn from the recent matrix abel tkl. apparently, there were some problems with keeping it clean or getting it to adhere properly. do you have a manufacturer lined up that can commit to such high quality on this project?

i would love to see more keyboards with this finish entering the market this year!

Available colors: Dark Grey, Red, Silver, Blue, Green, Purple, Pink, Black (http://imgur.com/gallery/WXqEL)

Will you have a better photograph of the available colors?  Can't quite tell what some of those are like from that photograph.  Is "pink" going to be magenta-pink (darker hot pink)?  That's what it looks like from that photo.  There's also orange or gold on the photo, which is not listed.

This design has very much grown on me the more I look at it!  I like all the small thoughtful design touches to details.  And that cool new bottom row layout.

I'm in. Just concerned about the colours like Photoelectric said.

I would get it in green or blue, but I would like to know if the blue is more a royal blue or aqua and if the green is more olive like the TGR Jane or a darker green?
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

It'd be cool if we had an option for a brass nameplate, given that we can get a brass bottom weight :)

Also, just me being a bit picky, but if the design isn't fully finalized, I feel like making this part go all the way out to be flush with the top half of the keyboard might look a bit nicer.

I understand it is being kept in line with how the front of the cutout ends, but I feel this would make the keyboard look a bit better. Maybe even do the same with the back of the keyboard and make it flush with the top half in the back. I think doing that would make the keyboard perfect :) Anyone agree or disagree?

    mhmm

Perhaps making it flush in the back, and extending the back foot to make it bigger, and make the angle more gradual. Like this

Totally agree with you. I hadn't noticed that the bottom was that far off from the top. And that back "leg" looks way to skinny.

Ya, and if the whole base and acrylic could be made flush with the topcase it would hide the harsh bottom edge of the top case

Here the acrylic, top, and bottom cases look to all be mismatched:

    ...and there's that heel.
Well, this would require a lot of changes. At that point, just get rid of the back and go full 360c base--it's already half way there.

    Hi everyone,

Very sorry that we just back to work from long holidays. Just want to give some update to all of you:
    - The PCB can fully programable (using bootmapper client, mean that you can use it both Windows and macOS, control RGB led, macro and more)
    - E8-V1 will support detachable USB
    - and it will support both normal WKL (1.5x Ctrl, Alt and 7x Spacebar) and modern WKL (1.25x Ctrl, Alt and 6.25x Spacebar).

We are now finallizing plate, which still have some little problems with stab, and color. GB will open very soon

      (Attachment Link)

Is that teal in the center? (blue-green)

Also, do you plan to do bright anodizing?

what is the difference between the two yellow colors? are those supposed to be gold?

also, what happened to the "microarc oxidation surface treatment" ?

"microarc oxidation surface treatment" - still waiting for factory reply, if it happen, we will have light grey/biege color. Other color can be done with at least 3 pcs. So we will choose about 5 colors for this GB.

Form filled out. I really like this kind of design, to me it seems like a mixture of classic with a proper amount of aggressive new freshy looking. The red and grey color way in the sample picture turns out really nice, but just wondering what could be another good color mixture.

My favorite color is blue. I think blue-gray would look very nice.
