Tipo33 is moving to Italy
« on: Mon, 06 May 2013, 09:07:35 »
My employer has recently informed me that I will be moving to Naples, Italy in about 30 days.  All of my belongings and personal effects will be moved for me free of charge.  This was kinda unexpected for me, but overall I am happy about the move.  As some of you may know I am from Europe originaly, and I am exited to move back.  Especialy for all the ISO goodies!
I never posted much to begin with, but I do feel that I contributed quite a bit to the GH community, especially in the Chicagoland area.  I am pretty upset that I will not be able to participate in some tours, and group buys.  (AKIMbO your AT Model F will get shipped out in 3 days)  I was also looking forward to the Chicagoland mod meetup, but I will clearly not make it :(  I will contact dante, and leave some stuff behind for the people attending.
I have been a member of many forums over the years, but GH is by far the most tight knit.  On no other forum would I do a keycap trade, trusting the other person to send on their end, and not just skip town with the cap.  Let alone send someone a Cmoy and trust them to send it back after meeting them once ;)
I will truly miss being in the economic area of the majority of GH, but I will continue to lurk :D

This is not a farewell, this is a distancing :(

Congrats on the move! I'm sure you will love Italy. :D

That's the good thing about the Internet, though. You can stay involved with the forum, no matter where in the world you are!

GLWM!

Moving closer to GMK ;)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

good luck! naples is a marvelous place, but remember that it's dangerous as well.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. hmmm it's good your from a hard city like chicago, when i went to italy, my italian friends said be wary of naples, when i did goto naples (because i had to see the birthplace of pizza, btw not great) i had a personal tour guide, he took us there and he's like, "ok, get your pizza, then come right back here!, if you go up the wrong block, they're gonna mug you". so time to level up on street brawling!

in nowadays st. pete you can't be robbed and beaten almost to death by a gang of teenagers. a friend of mine had such horrible experience in naples. and she is a girl.

actually the point of this post is to say that naples is a sunny and beautiful place with very nice food and extraordinary atmosphere :D just take care

Thanks for all the good wishes and presents guys.  I will still be around here,  actualy I've been making an effort to be here more,  no matter how much in wine swimming is in my future.  :D
