Aah, so many flaws in that poor first attempt BS keychain, but cool to see it in good hands. Nice to see a few more out in the world too. I sense an impending ALPS keychain shortage though.....

LOL, not intended to buzz kill, just the first issue is where all the lessons are learned :) I dare say you know that feeling somewhere. I am quite proud of it, I tried to keep the sound and feel as real as possible.

I recently purchased some more audio gear this time for camping and portable use. I bought a UE boom which is waterproof and can be ran wired or wireless and an Anker 2nd Gen Astro3 for keeping it charged away from civilization. I plan on using it a lot while camping which many portable speakers are not rugged enough to stand up to long term so I hope it handles the more extreme operating conditions well. It also makes a great bathroom speaker which is a nice added bonus I didn't think of when purchasing it.

I also purchased a Parrot Zik for work use when I'm away from my cube and the mad dog clones I have there. They obviously don't sound as good as my mad dogs or the Audeze lcd-2 I have at home but they are far more usable while out and about without the need for a portable amp or a cord. I think they work well in inherently poorer listening conditions when I still want to listen to music. I typically use it in wireless mode which is nice for when I have music on more as background noise to focus in on my work but they are still good enough for those moments when you want to sit back and focus in on the music when needed unlike a lot of headphones in this category. Not having to be aware of the location of a cord is a huge plus in this situation to prevent accidental damage too. I wouldn't recommend it to someone looking for only one pair of headphones though as it has some quirks that you have to accept like the auto pause works like 90% of the time but not always and temporary bluetooth dropouts of less then one second once an hour or so which are livable issues but a non starter on a primary headphone. Plus if you used it as a primary the battery life of ~6 hours would become an issue which I haven't run into yet as I never use them for that amount of time any given day.

Here was my last pic from when I bought my other audio gear around Christmas.

I think with this round of purchases I have accomplished most of what I wanted to when I first started researching audio gear and am happy with my purchases. However the amount of research it took to settle on what to buy and the way the audiophile community represents themselves along with the methods many audiophiles use to deride or recommend gear really left a bad taste in my mouth regarding the audiophile community as a whole.

Awesome. I have a UEBoom too. They're great!

Yea, I like those very much too. I like the lcd-2/3 but I think I am going to say that the beyerdynamic T1 are my favorites.

just waiting on a soldapult that's in the mail and I can finally start doing mods other than cases and keycaps - if they even count as mods.
