Love the updated colors! Thank you for keeping the purple in its full glory 🙏
The kits look good, too. I'd like to see a few things changed, though:
- R3 #~, R4 \| changed to R3 \|, R4 <> — You can read why here: 1, 2, 3.
- 2u space added to Spacebars — This size is required for Alice and similar boards (2u+1.25u left space).
- If you want, you can also add 1u space to Spacebars — Again for Alice (2.25u+1u left space), but this is less important than the 2u.
- Consider moving the Alice B from Spacebars to Base — I've heard that this key increases the cost of spacebar kits disproportionately if it's the only double-shot key in the set. This is because GMK uses different production lines for DS and non-DS keys, or something like that.
- Axe stepped 1.75u Control — I'm assuming this is a personal addition of yours (like the R4 1.5u Caps), but if not, these aren't used widely enough to warrant including, and there's already a stepped 1.75u Caps.
- Change Code legends to Super or System — This is mostly down to designer preference, but if you ask me, Code doesn't make sense as an OS key legend. It's also less common than Super, if that plays a role in your decision.
1. Yeah, that's easy enough to do, will work on that.
2/3. 2u I can consider, my thinking was 2.25u seems more prevalent, and if someone was so desperate they could use numpad 0. 1u not really worried about, as I'm not intending any sort of planck support and 1u space on alice seems like a massive edge case.
4. I've heard that as well, but I did the B in spacebars with Analog Dreams, and the price didn't really seem to suffer
that much given the size of that kit.
This was priced at $32 in GB, but I'll mull it over a bit.
5/6. Correct, that's just something I wanna do, same with Code vs other alternatives. It's no fun if every set uses the same kit, right?
