Hey Sprit or anyone who knows the answer,

How does one go about setting up the layout of the board? I know firmware is pre-installed, but do I need to download something else to alter the layout? Assuming I don't mess up the diodes, I'd like to do a 1+1 backspace and 1.75+1 shift.

Also, any tips for soldering diodes?  :p My soldering experiencing is limited to through hole LEDs and switches. Through hole diodes would work with this board, right?

I thought diodes were still being soldered on by sprit?

I bought this from someone else. It was one of the first to go out and does not have diodes or resistors soldered. Still looking for an answer to my question!

Interesting. I was in the first bunch of orders, my PM's aren't answered, and I have no idea exactly what I will receive and when I will receive it.

At this point, treat this like any other groupbuy. For those that will be home when it does arrive, I envy you. As you'll be able to check to see if everything is intact as well as nothing is missing the day it comes..

Just wondering.. but will the orders that contain only parts, such as only cases, be mailed ahead of the orders that require a full assembly / some assembly?

And judging from the shipping price, am I right to assume that it also includes door-to-door tracking?

If you want, I could have Sprit add your spring orders to mine, and I can proxy it to you for $11.35 via 2 Days Expedited. Cheapest shipping option via paypal shipping :x

I could also just send it via regular mail/registered mail if you'd like though.
Registered mail=$8.5+($0.63 if under 30g, $1.10 for 30-50g)

Mind if I join in as well? I'm about an hours drive from toronto, so shipping for two packs of springs shouldn't be much.

Hey all, I'm new to all this and bought a PCB from someone in the groupbuy. Curious as to what diodes and resistors I would need to purchase to make this work. I've practiced some soldering and am eager to continue learning with this project!

If you bought it from someone that was in the first wave, then everything will be pre-soldered except for switches. If there were LEDs in the order, Sprit said he'd be soldering the proper resistance resistors on too.

Below response.

As I PMed yesterday, the PCB is very early shipped with Diodes (unsoldered).
You need solder the diodes.  Sorry for that!   :)

I am wondering if for the second round, is the smd and the diodes going to be soldered? I assume you can ask him to do them?
Also as said above, what does the metal cases look like (final product)
Thanks!

January 31st was the lunar new year so Sprit and the production facilities are still coming back from a major holiday.

The further rounds (after round one) will have smd devices soldered in some cases by hand as you can see from sprit's announcement (quoted below)

For the 2nd GB Batch,  I am going to Produce Each 100pcs of Factory-Presoldered 60%, 87% PCB.
75% and 110% PCB are to be Hand-Soldered.

What does the metal cases look like (final product)
Thanks!

Metal cases haven't been posted yet. I'm not even sure if there is a final design. It could be part of the thread I haven't read yet.

Sprit will have two designs. One being all metal, and that one you linked as a layered metal/plastic design.

I'm eagerly waiting for the unveiling of the all metal design myself.

For this GB do we fill out the form and then we are invoiced...? The invoice isn't committing to the purchase - I wan't to find out how much it will cost to get some bits and pieces. Basically I already have switches but need other stuff. I can't find any pricing info for the individual parts.

Secondly, are orders all shipped at once or there are a constant stream of orders being churned out? If I order some pieces this afternoon (don't need full assembly) when is the next shipment? I am based in the UK. Thank you

Next shipment? Hmm - I've received nothing and I purchased my items on November 26th (paid the invoice). The group buy began on the 6th.
