Oddly enough, I actually quite like the bootleg jenga wrist rest.  Pretty clever and looks kind of slick in its own way.

Thanks! It kind of randomly occurred to me. At first I had them just loosely stacked — like, well, Jenga blocks — and then it occurred to me to run a strip of duct tape across to keep them together. Nice thing is, it's pretty readily adaptable to different widths: 4 blocks would be about right for a compact keyboard, 5 for a tenkeyless, and probably 6 would cover a full-sized board pretty well. It would also not be hard at all to cut a rectangle of something comfy to lay over the top.
looks cool! Did you also glue them together? I fell like the blocks could pinch if they moved around. It bugs me that the jenga blocks are not all facing the same way too lol

Yah I was thinking I hope he doesn't get pinched as well!

No, actually no glue! Just the strip of tape along the bottom, and otherwise they just stay in place. The pressure of my hands pushing them down against the tape keeps them from really shifting, so no pinching so far. I should probably realign them so the labels line up :)

Cleaned my room and moved my desk towards the window.

What kind of monitor is that?
Also that drink location seems so perilous if you accidentally knock it over.

I'm going to take a wild guess at the monitor since jwaz hasn't responded and say that it might be the Asus PB278Q (which looks to be mounted to some sort of arm), which is the same monitor that I have. I could be wrong, though.

It's actually an Asus VG248QE (1080p 144hz tn panel), the arm is the HP-branded Ergotron LX. Someday I'll get a SpaceCo to replace it.

OK, I'll bite. Mac Mini with a Dell U2412M. The keyboard is a Keyed Up Labs with DSA retro keycaps I got from Signature Plastics last week. And yes, that palm rest is Jenga pieces kept together with a strip of duct tape along the bottom (which also keeps it from sliding around too much). I made it yesterday for $0 and I kind of love how bootleg it is. I guess if the grooves bother me I could put something across the top but I haven't felt the need yet. The desk surface is an old drafting/art board, hence the profusion of cut marks and whatnot. I might get something nicer at some point.

But this a DSA Dolch set and not a DSA Retro set. Or am I totally blind ;)

Oh yeah, I bet you're right! I ordered it last week and SP never sent an order confirmation email, and the key set is no longer up on their site so I have basically zero documentation of it. Still struggling with getting the spacebar to not stick, but otherwise love it.

Do you have costar stabalizers? The ones with the little white inserts. Maybe one of them, or both of them are the wrong way. One side is longer than the other.

I've heard you can sandwich it with wood, but don't sue me if it breaks your table anyway

I would not recommend  clamping to glass.  All the weight is in one small area and pulling in one direction.  Time for a purpose-built desk, possibly.  Or a wall mount.

Yeah , I was pretty sure but it looks so clean :want: I could try clamping it to the table legs .

Wall mount is my goal but I need a more "final" place to do it .

Might be some sort of brand infringement then :p
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I love my Shine 3, but after using the JD40 it's too huge. It feels like I have no room on my desk when I'm using it. Great board, I love Ducky. I love my JD40 more though. <3

I did swap cases between pictures, as well as jumped from two 7950s to two R9 290s. Hopefully I will have a custom loop coming in soon, but I haven't decided. Plus my savings have taken a hit with all the Geekhacking I've been doing. :)
