Quote from: ADFX_Pixy on Tue, 30 September 2014, 23:18:25I am very happy with my setup, I only wish I had an L-shaped desk because I also use my desk for homework. I don't know if you guys can tell but it can get pretty cramped having a few sheets of math homework out along with a huge, bulky Calculus textbook.A TKL or 60% keyboard would help there too

Show ImageIt's messy now, but it used to be about a million times worse with my old desk. The pedals on the right are only there temporarily; I have a harsh noise project and I'm going on tour in, oh, about 24 hours and I've been putting in some last-minute practice. They're hooked up to my Tascam Porta Two HS, which connects to the interface you can see under the monitor and goes out to the PreSonus Eris E5s.And yeah I realise things aren't exactly centred on the desk. Still need to tweak the positioning/toe-in angle of the monitors too.
It's in use, I'm one of those dirty hipsters that still buys and plays tapes, hahaha. Hoping to one day upgrade to something like a Nakamichi deck, but for now the Denon is serving me well.

The monitor was too wide for the lower part of the desk, so I had to raise it up. It's an unadvertised feature of the paper ;-)
why does my samurai sound like Japanese Batman?
Has anyone run dual screens with ultrawides? Curious to see how it looks. Been debating about picking up another one. I love the single but sometimes...just sometimes...I still want more screen real estate.
You never look at any of my posts, do you?
Quote from: HoffmanMyster on Thu, 02 October 2014, 23:53:52You never look at any of my posts, do you? ) ) )Your second screen wasn't an ultrawide! I meant running two of the AOC 29" or LG 34" together.
Oh hahaha. You should have specified. That would be insane! Can you even imagine the width??
Quote from: HoffmanMyster on Fri, 03 October 2014, 00:03:47Oh hahaha. You should have specified. That would be insane! Can you even imagine the width??I was actually thinking of running one on top of the other for movies and such. Skype, TS, Vent, and music could all be stuffed on the second screen up top.
If all that's on the second screen is that ancillary stuff, I'd rather save my money and just use a cheaper monitor. But if you wanna go legit ballin you don't have many options, huh?
For that purpose I'd rather buy one ultrawide and one high quality monitor imo
Bah, just get 3x ultrawide... then run them all in portrait so you end up with something close to 4:3 LOL.

If today had been a hippo, then you'd really have to worry about tomorrow.

Fair enough. My VT220 is almost brown it is so yellow, but one day I'd like to dig it out and clean it up. Or maybe the VT420. Or even the old Link, with its keyboard with MX blacks. Since a LCD PSU died, we are one monitor down, and my server has no direct interface. I even unplugged its keyboard to use elsewhere for a while. A terminal would solve both of those problems. If only I had the time ... and a serial to USB adaptor ...

I don't understand how so many people can knock over their drinks, y u so clumsy?

OK, I'll bite. Mac Mini with a Dell U2412M. The keyboard is a Keyed Up Labs with DSA retro keycaps I got from Signature Plastics last week. And yes, that palm rest is Jenga pieces kept together with a strip of duct tape along the bottom (which also keeps it from sliding around too much). I made it yesterday for $0 and I kind of love how bootleg it is. I guess if the grooves bother me I could put something across the top but I haven't felt the need yet. The desk surface is an old drafting/art board, hence the profusion of cut marks and whatnot. I might get something nicer at some point.Show Image
Oddly enough, I actually quite like the bootleg jenga wrist rest. Pretty clever and looks kind of slick in its own way.
