I make more typos on XDA than any other profile I own. I think it's because the gap between keys is rather small. I have to slow down to use the profile. I don't mind, but many people do.
Funny you mentioned this - now I know I'm not alone. I like to type on it, very subtle texture on top surface is enough for me (I prefer smooth/shiny caps), but for some reason I make more mistakes. Like you mentioned, size of top surface is a bit bigger than other profiles and it makes the gap smaller, so some times I hit other key.
I tried DSA. It is hard to get used to coming from cherry gave up after that feels wrong to type on it even though its probably better for ergonomics.
Exact same experience - I remember my first and last DSA set - I waited for it so long, it was DSA Retro (Commodore theme), then when it arrived I was sooo surprised and disappointed that I took it off after few weeks. Just couldn't stand those edges, kept hitting many keys at once, mistype, terrible. This put me off and never came back to DSA. I gave it a try for few weeks, thought I'm going to adjust and get used to it, but I didn't. Didn't work for me at all. It was frustrating to type on those.
Today, I have mounted XDA on my Topre 55g for a first time. Feels cool, topre always felt great, it's my favourite switch.
I used to use SA on topre 55g, XDA is first set I'm trying as second one. It is not Canvas (awaiting that one to be shipped next month from Massdrop), it is some cheaper set from Amazon, but feels nice.
Again, making some mistakes, as I haven't used XDA for few months, but it waaaay better experience than DSA.
I gotta say, XDA feels wee better on Topre 55g, than on Tealios v2 I used to use. I was hasitating, as thought that such a low profile, lighter cap compared to SA, will feel a bit too light, but it's fine.
Anyway, XDA will be my profile to use on both - topre and Tealios. These are just two switches I use.
