Well I'm pretty sure I'm one of the last people, if not the last, to recieve my Paw (arrived last week) and got to opening it and building it today, and I have to say it is cute...if a little disappointing.
It arrived all sticky and grubby, covered in black marks all around the edges as if it had been knocking around a factory for a while - it seems to have come from the laser cut stacked foam packaging all rubbing off onto the outer case, so a pretty bad design there. It feels like a cheap out on packaging anyway, a lovely little cardboard presentation box with a typical tried and true cut-foam insert would have been nicer.
When I came to unscrew the two halves; the screws were in very tight for a polycarb case, and lo and behold all of the screw threads have cracks around them - it's not so bad that they're stripped, but it's not nice to look at and makes me wary about taking it apart again.
I didn't have any issues putting the case together however, it took like 5 minutes to build.
It's a shame about the LEDs not working, especially with the case being transparent it would have been a little plus. Also asking us to reflow the MCU to fix this ourselves is a bit rubbish, I'd hazard a guess to say that most people would have no experience in doing this let alone have a preheating/hot air station.
Can't comment on the bluetooth functionality as I haven't got a battery that fits atm, but after reading the issues in previous posts I really don't think I'll bother. Also ZMK is currently pretty limited and a bit of a nightmare to use, so flashing it with a custom keymap to use as a macropad feels like such a chore compared to the likes of QMK or VIA, especially since ZMK doesn't fully support macros yet.
So overall it'll make a nice display piece as it's a genuinely cute little thing, but given the choice again I'd save my $190 ($40 international shipping) and steer clear.
