Catching up on some recent deliveries...

I got a Data911 board off of ebay. Needed a bath pretty badly.

scrub a dub dub

Much cleaner

I found out that I don't just hate MX Reds, I also hate MX Blacks (until I added "MX" to clarify, i was rarin' for a mighty declaration o' racism, hoo buddy). Linear is just the worst feeling, no matter the weight. The rubber guard to the Data911 gives it a very firm initial push barrier. I just tested it with nickels and quarters and it came out to about 140 grams of weight needed to depress it. I may not like this extreme weight, I'm still using it over the rubberless, no-feedback linear feel. Also, the layout is balls. I keep pressing Tilde when I want Alt, and Alt when I want Winkey.... yeah, okay, it's not the worst and pretty easily remedied with the Sharpkeys utility, but that does a blanket change that alters the key in put of any other keyboard I plug in. But if I don't end up selling it or giving it away, perhaps I'll harvest the PCB and make something custom.

Racist!!  :p
Seriously I got one of those and found doughnut sprinkles inside. Yum!

I spent an afternoon cleaning it out, and maybe 15 minutes typing on it in the last 5 years. The layout is Just.That.Bad.
I'm back.

That's really funny, being that these were in police cruisers. The layout could be worse though, i've been using it on and off for the last week. The N key chatters occasionally.

Technically I should be getting this last week, being just 40 minutes from Krytone but some wonky stuff and bad timing.. so here they are. Very, very impressed with the caps:

I love these funky square packages.

I don't really like seeing the corners all bent up like that, but the contents were safe.

Can't wait to run these later. :)
