Zen Pond IV – God’s creation artisan keycaps

Similar to the previous collections of Zen Pond, we made the Kois in very small size. Don’t be concerned by this tiny scale because you can still recognize very lively details inside the keycaps just under the size of a pinkie tip. In particular, the Koi fins are especially highlighted on their bodies to make it most visible and animated regardless of their size.
A whole new way to Koi making
In Zen Pond 4 we choose a completely new production technique that has never been used before at Jelly Key to take another step in innovating this unique collection. The technique creates 3 parallel color rays, resulting in a high and realistic contrast on the background. This particularly helps highlight the beautiful Koi fish.
The Kois are then made with different depth levels to create special Eden effects. This step takes a lot of time to do, especially when it comes to working with Koi fish as they are placed on various layers of clear resin. The amount of time and efforts is much more than other Zen Pond collections but it is very rewarding because we can produce an another amazing collection of God’s creation.
Coloring the Kois – tough work! Moving on to color and effect formation, again, it takes the Pouring Art of mixing alcohol ink with resin to produce this magical series. It conveys abstract and random aspects of expression. The reaction of alcohol ink in resin brings a hypothetical effect occasionally used in interior design for some specific purposes. Its elegant fluids play a crucial role in raising the power of imagination. In the collection, we apply 3 to 5 layers of paint for each keycap so the colors can have a certain thickness and be clearer to our eyes. More importantly, these color tones are entirely based on real Koi fish to increase their authenticity.
This is also the hardest thing we faced during the production of Zen Pond IV. It’s very challenging to paint the fishes and keep them spirited as much as possible. Not to mention that we also made Cherry, SA and OEM profiles for all keycaps in the collection, which induced another difficulty in detail layout as the space in this profile is typically short.

It’s just another regular day on Earth. And another typical day for the Matthias crew, boarding the Skylab rocket ship for the ExpeditionX mission to scout other planets outside of the Earth and find signals of extraterrestrial life. At the exact moment of 10:28:13 EST, September 7, 2093, the Skylab spaceship launched into the sky and hit outer space to carry out another galactic exploration and advance humankind’s history.
Now that the Matthias crew has returned home safely, we can learn more about we build how their spaceships, all by the hands of Jelly Key’s talented artisans.
Creation of astronauts In the Cosmos series: Astronaut odyssey artisan keycaps, it’s evident that astronauts are critical elements contributing to the collection’s beauty. We need to cast the incredibly tiny astronauts and paint them all by hand. This process takes a lot of time, especially when dealing with small pieces. Getting them out of the moulds is one challenge; another challenge is the number of qualified pieces as we have to eliminate any defective ones.
Base building As you may know, any artisan keycaps at Jelly Key always have a base. It is imperative to hold the details altogether. We also produce a base for this collection without exceptions by casting 100%. The base is lit horizontally and vertically by LED lights mesmerisingly. The vertical light will lead to the galaxy body part, while the horizontal light shines through the net-like details at the bottom of the base.
Crafting the galaxy sphere The details become more delicate and thin with a new casting technique, elevated by sparkling materials. They are blended to create the effect of endless black holes. You can also see the multidimensional floating patterns that make the galaxy sky even more alive. The casting process of each layer takes from 8 to 16 hours, not to mention it would take longer to cast emulsifiers than regular materials.

In the previous 8-bit series, we have learned how the super trio Mika, Louie, and Black saved the Pipeline City and brought justice back to this pixel world. The Pipeline City is growing exponentially, with a strong focus on robotics and machine learning development. The whole city now resembles a video game scene in the 50s. However, it comes with a futuristic setting.
Everything starts with a change
The government has decided to reform the city to “take the Pipeline City to the next level”. They ask the scientists to create the most advanced robot generation with all the cutting-edge technology possible. The government will, in return, fund the research and support them financially to address any scientists’ age-old desire: conquering new knowledge and discovering scientific breakthroughs. It is the classic relationship between the government and scientists.
They are looking for humanoid machines that can learn and execute human activities, which can help revolutionise the city and go beyond whatever human beings have ever achieved. But that’s not all. The government has yearned for a top military system backed by robotic technology so that it can help them defeat other cities in this pixel world. One Pipeline City is never enough.
