Also, I'm unfamiliar with the guy running this.  I probably wouldn't send him $100 over the Internet unless someone vouched for him.

I would be really excited about this but I don't think I could bring myself to buy a Vortex product after having tasted the sweet nectar known as Topre.

Vortex again? We saw how that went with iMav's Poker group buy...

I tend to agree here. If it's Vortex, they haven't been very reliable in shipping a product on time, or ever, sometimes.

Can you please share some more information on past experience? i believe its important for people who are not aware of it (like myself) to have the entire picture.

I still don't know if this GB is coming from Vortex, but you can use this as an example of a Vortex GB

How do you know this will be from vortex? The only comment about this was from someone asking if it would be from Vortex. And if it is from Vortex, I would be very weary. They are highly unreliable in their words. Just look at their facebook page. There are many questions, a lot of which are problems with keyboards and they don't bother answering. Products that was suppose to be released months ago never came out. They will leave you in the dust and could care less, so I would be cautious when investing your money in them in the form of a group buy.

From my understanding, these will be produced when we receive enough of an order. If Vortex is the one producing them, then it sounds as though this will be through Vortex. And it sounds as though, from past experiences, it won't pan out (?).

Could you please get some concrete information on this for us? I can't speak for everyone, but I would sure like to know where the money is going and who is producing them. I am definitely out if it's vortex.

and 2 left :)

I think the real big question many people are wondering...is the supplier Vortex? I know a lot of people are wary to join this buy if it is indeed them. They never seem to keep deadline promises that lead to much strife.

May be this is a little bit confuse for you, I HAVENT contacted directly to Vortex, because the risk is quite high for me (like the race GB from iMav). So I've found a supplier in taiwan, and he said he will settle everything for me. however, i can reduce the risk for me and you guys, so thats why you guys dont need to pay until the boards are produced (I dont want to bear so much risk, i dont want to be another iMav as well..)  ;)
I just want to clarified it..

Why do you guys keep supporting this company!?

There are fellow GH'ers who have still not received anything yet from the Race GB.  Plenty of complaints about QC.  Vortex won't respond to iMav at all.

WTF people?  Dropping the soap once not enough for you?
Seeing as I don't have to pay until they are produced I see it as very little risk to myself.

tinlong, just to confirm, these are still being made by Vortex, but distributed by some guy in Taiwan? I can still see some potential problems with this. First of all, Vortex is still at the very front of production line. Meaning they are in full control of when production of these will start, and how long it will take. Seeing from the past of how trustworthy their words are, I would take that finished date with a grain of salt. So is the guy in Taiwan fronting money for these since non of us has to pay first? If that's the case, make sure he take pictures of all the pokers in his hands before you send him money. That's the only way to make sure Vortex has all finished products before paying for them.

I just want a 60% keyboard, that isn't backlit and that has normal sized keys that I can replace easily. Is there another option?
Yeah. Just buy a poker that is ready to ship, and change the switch to whichever one you want. Won't be as cheap as getting it from this GB, but you are not at risk of anything.

I dont see how that helps. We are only paying after the boards are produced, so there is no risk for us that Vortex just take the money and not produce... so whats the difference between this and buying one black from mechanicalboards.com?
