That is actually a great idea for a cap if we can come up with a nice design: Alpha Nerd

Exactly, but I'm guessing Matt3o would have curly hair due to being Italian from the Florentine area.  Need to get an image done of him  :thumb: .

It's our recognition of someone that has consistently filled our keyboards with decent key-sets each and every year, since he has joined Geekhack.

So do you resemble in appearance to Luca Zingaretti, or Raoul Bova or even Stefano Accorsi ?  Please let us know.

International kits. Don't mind the size of the legends, I will have them done properly later. This is just to define the keys. Also all blue legends will be side printed (hopefully)

From what I'm reading we can only GB one color and looks like the beige kit isn't going to be produced.  If that is true can we drop it from the voting list and allow those voters to pick between the two options?

you can change your vote.

anyway, since pure gray and charcoal are basically head to head but on DT pure gray won by a short distance, we are going to have pure gray, that will also let us have legends in multiple colors (hardly possible with charcoal).

technically possible, yes. It all depends on the demand of course. I'd say all kits will have a 25 MOQ. Base kit maybe 50.

You really deserves a praise for the way you split national layouts between the two international kits.

thanks :) it actually took quite some time and what you see is the result of an algorithm that takes into account popularity of the language and repetition of the same legend on multiple languages.

If all voters buy it, then MOQ should be very easy to reach. When are you planning to begin the GB?

The base set covers what a standard ANSI 60% like the Poker 2 requires. But you may be interested in the Nerdom, the icon mods, and the color mods, just for the sake of variety. There is an ISO version of the Poker (has the fat vertical enter key) if you have one of this you should get the ISO set also.

My idea would be to set the first deadline after 3 weeks (so, first week of April), but we can make it a little longer if needed.

I'm super stoked this is going ahead in grey. Happy with the short deadline too. Thanks for the hard work Matt3o, and being open to suggestion.

In other news, I've created the Ruby script that scrapes Ergodox layout information from Massdrop, just need to write some Rails controllers to display the data and this should help out future group buys deciding Ergodox key sets!

Cool, I'm curious to see how close I got in my estimates. Do you need people to submit links, or did you find a way to scrape those as well?

I think you'd have got pretty close. I'm considering opening a thread here and on DT and then manually copy pasting links. Version 1.0 might be a bit more intelligent :)

Shorter deadline is good. So it doesn't drag on for many months. Will iso enter be in the international kits or will that be a separate key to order?

separate, so you can buy both international kits without ending up with two returns.

And it would be nice to offer a 6.00 spacebar just like Macross :)

The international sets look very cool. Although, I just find 3 legends that match the US International English, so I may not take advantage of any  :-[ . The sets will be great for those that use dedicated non English keyboard layouts though.

US international is really complex. I would have to make a kit just for that and I'm not sure about the interest around it.

Yeah, I agree that may not be many of us interested in it. I can use the regular US ANSI legends as I always have been, so no worries at all. Although, I have always wanted to have a nice set of caps with at least some of the more common secondary legends though. If you want I may suggest you some other alternate legends in addition of what you already have in your sets, just let me know. I think I saw a very nice set with 5 or 7 secondary legends made in triple shot original Cherry caps. If I remember well it is owned by one of the elders here.

You may consider to add three more caps with the following legends:

main,shift,altgr

s,S,ß
z,Z,Æ
,,<,ç

In the same set where you already have these ones:

5,%,€
m,M,µ

Please ergodoxians chime in. Is this what you want?

please note that we can always change the legends BUT we cannot add or remove keys. So if in doubt better add a couple of keys.

Also would you like some keys in different color?

Looks really good Matt.

What about the "bit of color"?

I really wanted that blue enter key.

I'll request a quote tomorrow, I'll evaluate adding more keys based on pricing.

Be careful about it going all "Handarbeit Style" because it will take away the essence of what you are trying to achieve, a classical rendition of a keyboard.
