Face W is a pcb that was in sprit's GB.  Tinnie is running a gb now on DT for a face u replica but some things have come up recently (face u apparently not open hardware like the replica's are said to be) so people are awaiting to hear what will happen.  I assume there is an original face u (that the replica is based off) made by the same person who made the face w.

Basically its a 60% programmable board with led capability.

Good said.

The FaceU replica I got is based on A.87 pcb which is open source.
The replicator has modified the circuit into 60% layout. As for the firmware, it is fully compatible with FaceU.
Smart guy he was, but I heard there are some other users having problem despite same batch.
It was chinese made btw.

From my understanding, face u came before face w. The face w added a lot of features that weren't found in the face u.

Fairly certain GH compresses image files to save bandwidth.

Definitely.  They're the only ones who have combined the flat profile with the extended lip on the front.  IMHO one of the best cases for 60's, and still available used from time to time.

Gon seems to have some pretty reasonable quality control, the only problem with that plate is that it doesn't have notches so that you can remove the switch tops without desoldering.
removing switch tops is very important to many keyboard fanatics because we like to switch out the stems and springs, as well as lubricate the switches.

Thanks for the quick reply.  Iʻm still pretty new with this, just have a stock poker at the moment, but am in the acrylic mass drop gb and wanted to pick up a plate.  So in order to install this plate, its not just a removal of the key caps and drop in the plate and put the keycaps back on, it would require desoldering?  Or it would only require desoldering to do switch maintenance and customization?

It's not hard, and there's a lot of folks here to help you. We even have recommended soldering irons and kits. I would, however, try learning on something else other than your new Poker.

Iʻve been looking into learning how to for quite a while but was thinking the same thing, need something else to practice on first haha.  Do you have a link to the recommended soldering iron/kits?  Also was looking into possibly asking someone to do the job for me, any recommendations on someone or where to look?

The alu case makes the poker ii feels more solid. It adds weight, and I love the low profile design of it.
And yes it's from taobao.

Welcome to Geekheck!

Nice keyboard to start with :)
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
