Keyboard of the Year - Vote!

Here is the winners thread for the 2018 edition of Keyboard of the Month. This thread will turn into the Keyboard of the Year vote thread when all monthly votes have been decided.

January's winner was AfroKobe's Lakers E6-V2



February's runaway winner was Jon_Flynn's Hyper7



nwsi was a triumph for topre in March with his FC980C



April saw TalkingTree take home his second KOTM win with his second Toad



In May it was Xack and his Arke that walked away with the win.



June saw pr0ximity win yet again with his polycarb 910



In July, Sparrow89 won with their Gameboy build



August's winner was Vewy Nice's TMO50 Founder's edition



Sparrows89 was September's Winner with their 3D printed 40% case and board



KeyboardUser4's lovely teal QXP was the winner in a very delayed October vote



After talking to LightningXI, the winner of November's KOTM was their Realforce 84u



Our last monthly winner was LightningXI again, this time with the Korean custom Keycult No1

Okay all, we finally got there. Now the winner of December has been decided, we can finally vote on the 2018 Geekhack Keyboard of the year!

First of all - cool to see a TMO in KOTM. I forgot it won. Also it's cool that there's 4 KOTM winners that are sub60% or ergo. People are starting to accept sub60% boards more and the quality is going up as well.

It's a hard vote - can't decide for 15min already. I know one vote but the other two... Hard!!!

"Sparrows89's 3D printed 40% case build" is very nice; I would have received more votes it the layout was 60% or TKL.

Despite—surprisingly—having the fewest votes so far I'm a big fan of Sparrows89's swappable faceplate concept for the 40%. Not seen in the photo above but there are various nice designs in the original post.

Yeah, sorry, I just always have it that way, I prefer to hide the results to the very end as we did have an instance right at the start of the competition where someone created a load of fake accounts to skew the results.

Do KOTM and KOTY winners get a prize or was it just reputation and respect? I remember reading something about that but maybe I dreamt it.

Each KOTM winner gets two copies of three separate sticker designs created by tigersharkdude, Lastpilot and Infiniti, and the KOTY winner gets the same plus two copies of the same designs but the KOTY configuration plus a laser cut glass trophy

Even the non-customs on the list are quite customized and modded. But I voted for one non-custom too.

Two of these were easy choices for me... The third was harder. I suppose that makes for an interesting competition! Interestingly, all of my choices were genuinely for entirely different reasons... I suspect if said my reasons, people would probably guess my picks, though! 

Anyone who knows anything about my (stalled) keyboard build, and my reasons, could probably make a wild guess as to my first choice!

Oh wow - totally did not expect this...

Congrats to all the entries, some great builds on here - more were far deserving than my attempt. Thank you to everyone who voted for any board in the competition, there were some truly great things made last year, and I can't wait to see more this year!
