What would be the best and most permanent way of dying a keyboard and keycaps? Is there any guides round here on how to do it?
Sorry I didn't realize the mod part was wiki is it possible to get this moved somewhere?

Do the keycaps - but don't do the spacebar or the case - chances are that the plastic will warp.

Edit: use RIT dye

The case will look fine, as long as you use a plastic-specific spray paint.  DupliColor Vinyl and Fabric spray works REALLY well as it seems to soak into the plastic.  See my wiki: http://geekhack.org/showwiki.php?title=Island:21017

I would rather live as a man than dye as a keyboard.

I had more success using one box of powdered RIT dye than 3 bottles of liquid.  Since the powder is cheaper(~$2 vs ~$4), I would recommend you start of with a box of dye, and if that fails, then try the liquid.

Also, if you plan on buying  dye from a craft store in the USA, 50% off coupons are easily found for a craft store like Michael's or AC Moore

That is exactly the one that inspired my wiki.  Luckily I only had to read through about 70 pages of comments to get a good idea of how to do it.  Mine are all holding up quite well.

An actual compliment from Ripster!  I feel like I ought to celebrate or something.  ;-)  Thanks.

Sorry, Ripster... just caught me off guard that you didn't say something snarky.  Just wanted you to know it didn't go unnoticed.  Thanks.
