Mechanical Keyboards Inc is now an official Cherry partner!

http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/resellers.htm

We immediately put an order in for "every MX switch you have". As you may have guessed, they didn't have much. In fact, only one switch type... Luckily, it happened to be one of our favorite MX switches ever. MX Clears!

5 Pack:

50 Pack:

100 Pack:

110 Pack :

Enjoy!

Yes, only PCB mount style is available at this time, but we are working to get as many switch colors and mount types as possible. The wait is 6 - 12 months, so please be patient.

Nice! Great news :)

Congrats on the deal!

Also, are you guys ever going to look into making it easier for delivery to Hong Kong?  I almost ordered from you guys a few times but held off because the process wasn't easy enough (email, wait for reply, email, wait for invoice, etc.)

News like that travels fast around here!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Will you guys be able to acquire some of the more rare cherry switches?
Looking for possible Cherry MX White, Greys, and Greens as examples? (I know you can get greens from CM Storm, but not as a switch by itself)

+1
The scavenged board I have used cherry stabilizers ... 9x spacebar anyone?
If it's not that much extra work for you, I'm sure they'd sell nicely alongside the switches and PCBs
(eagerly looking forward to next paycheck when I can buy me some switches )

With you being a cherry partner, can you distribute ultimate switch sampling sets with all switches, even the rare ones?

Which switches are you calling rare?

Reading the OP, they asked for any available switches and all they could get at the moment were clears.

Yeah, we asked for ALL of them.  We expect to receive two more switch types at the end of the year and 4 - 5 more switch types by April.  We should have Clear, blue, green, red, brown, white, and clear plate mounts by April 2014.  Believe it or not, this is considered 'quick' as many switches are on back order for over a year.

Rest assured we're trying our absolute hardest to get as many switches and as many types of switches as possible!

We certainly hope so...no word yet. Perhaps with all the fun and frivolity from 2013 behind us, we can look forward to the possibility of picking up a few more specialty keyboards...time will certainly tell...

We are noticing more and more people becoming aware of the realm of mechanical keyboards; 2014 looks to be a fantastic year of opportunity for growth in the industry for all companies involved, especially Cherry Corp.

Chances are the only thing Ducky about this keyboard, is the keycap puller they have advertised with it. The Topre itself is made in Japan, not Taiwan. Plus, the DK in the SKU number is probably mere coincidence. So, to answer your question, we would 'if' it is a Ducky, otherwise, we have Type Heavens for sale all day long...

I realize that. The point is there is a relationship between Ducky and Topre so since mechanicalkeyboards.com is a ducky distributor perhaps they could talk ducky into letting them sell the topre realforce board. :thumb:

But then, Ducky would be sub-leasing a distribution contract with Topre .

Since Tiger Imports is a distributor of Topre (TypeHeavens atm), maybe MK can ask for Realforce boards?

True, the Ducky version is exclusive to Taiwan. Only Realforce board that uses Light & Dark Gray on black body. I think it also mentioned that the board will have an included Topre keychain

..The posts are sorta offtopic. Probably should have went to the "Name it. We'll do our best to get it. (v2.0)" thread.

Sorry for the delayed response on this one.  The Type Heaven was the only model we were given access to by Topre.  We don't have access to their full line as EKB has exclusive distribution in the US.
