Just curious.  Did they send you new deep dish F/J caps with your replacements?

Nope, just the regular caps.

Pretty poor quality pics, but I'm sure that you can tell the difference.
I've also noticed that a lot of the keys appear to have less of that "shiny" coating that was present in a few people's keys.

Just wanted to chime in that I've also received my replacement keycaps and all is well!
All noticeable gaps etc are all gone and text are all centered.

Thanks SP for sorting this out!  :thumb:

So did you guys simply get a new base set or did you specifically have to list the single keys?

How does the replacement process work? Did you have to send in your original set?

Email Melissa per the instructions here: reply #2288

You do not have to return in the "defective" caps and they will replace all of the 1u keys in the kit(s) you are not happy with.

It's already shipped, package should arrive in the next days.

I think I really should mail her too, after seeing those pictures. Should I write Melissa directly? I lost her mail address which was sent with the sets..

Will they replace the 1u keys of the nerdom kit, too?

I have just received my Granite round 1 keys (via a proxy, so took a while longer). I am afraid I will have to get some replacement keys as well due to misalignment, but most of the board looks fantastic.

I have one major gripe.
The ISO enter key and the DSA spacebar key are very mushy after putting on the granite keys. Putting on the previous keys feels normal again, so the switches themselves are still OK. (Its a ducky 9087g2 with cherry stabs). Did other people have this problem? Do they wear in or is that just how they are? If not, i may ask for a replacement.

lube the stems, it should fix your problem. I believe the problem is with the cherry stabs. costar FTW!

Is there a preferred lube for spacebar stems? I have problems with the spacebar from my DSA Dolch keyset sticking down on my keyboard with cherry stabs. The spacebar doesn't seem warped, but it always sticks.

I had this happen to me as well.  I had to tweak my stab wire to reduce the stab friction on keypress...

Just got my replacement caps, and I'm 100% satisfied with the way they came out. This really shows me how professional of a company SP is - I'd definitely recommend them and use them again after seeing how they handled this situation.

Now what I really want to see is Oliveti DCS PBT Dyesub :D

As far as I can see, the IC thread is still just an interest check - nothing has even started yet.

The actual GB thread was on Massdrop discussion page. The IC still exists for R2 related extras (bonus pack), but from the looks of it, SP will be busy for a little while to fulfill all our R2 orders, and the drop is closed.

tyvar is right, R2 is over... I'm not sure why it was all ran from the IC thread, but boy am I glad I checked it.

It was put up on massdrop on the 24th, and ran for a week until the first. 5523 sets were sold in that time so it was quite popular and I know it was also posted on /r/mechanicalkeyboards. See here http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61612.msg1447498#msg1447498

Right now matt3o is thinking about doing a small bonus kit after R2's success, and is still trying to figure out exactly what will be in it. This is the latest "prototype" but he wants to add more 1u novelty caps and remove some larger ones since it is too expensive. http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=61612.msg1459440#msg1459440

I bought Granite R1, and wasn't following the R2 thread closely enough to see a post on page 17 :p

But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Ah, ok, my bad then.

I bought Granite R1, and wasn't following the R2 thread closely enough to see a post on page 17 :p

Hard to follow that thread since it and the buy just exploded.  SP's gonna take forever to finish R2. :(

@Matt3o:
Hey, any chance for the Ergodoxian in icons instead of text in the current drop? Or maybe the next one?

Edit: posted this message in the relevant thread.
Round 3 maybe :)
I have other ideas for great sets! worry not!
