Another rubberdome kb user. What a suprise.
Often, the most expensive or rarest key switch/kb doensn't necessarily has to be 'the best'.

I like the feel of my Keytronic ergo weighted over the kb0316 though..But find the HP more solid and better printed keycaps. Also the Keytronic is HUGE

Lots of rubber dome users out there! Rubber domes are the most-used key switch for a reason.

I do use mechanical keyboards on a few of my personal home computers though. The Hewlett-Packard unit happens to be on my work machine.

not here there isn't................

I'm using a Model M at the moment, and had pancakes for breakfast - home made by my sweet other half :)

What is BoB and WoB mods?

BoB = black (text) on white keycaps.

WoB = white (text) on black keycaps.

mods = modifiers - shift, ctrl, alt, win, caps (and sometimes tab, enter, backspace).

Pretty sure BoW is black text on white cap, BoB is black on black, where the legend is barely visible

IBM Model M 42H1292 at work, Black&White Apple Pro Keyboard at home.  The Apple Extended Keyboard ii is something that I tried out today, but didn't really like.  Sooner or later, I'll get myself a Model F.

I've recently become a keyboard geek.  I remember the sweet sound and feel of the Model F XT that I used in computer lab years ago.  I forgot about the IBM keyboards until reading about the Model M keyboards over the last year.  A local seller had a couple of Model M's for a good price, and I purchased both of them.  I sold one of them.  Now, my 42H1292 is one of my prize possessions.  I use it at work.  I have my own office, so I don't drive anyone crazy with the incredible buckling spring sound of the M (although not as nice the Model F).

I also have a white Apple Pro Keyboard from a circa 2002 iMac, and also acquired a black Pro Keyboard from someone in the office who was about to through it out.  I swapped some keys to make a Panda version.  The space bar and "0" on the number pad are not interchangeable as the stabilizer bars are different.  I know that some of you may think the black/white scheme is lame, but I use it in low light, and it's quicker for me to identify a few of my favorite function keys.  The sound and feel is actually quite nice for a rubber dome keyboard.  It's better than a mechanical Apple Extended ii with ALPS that I just tried out today, hidden in an old cabinet.  I think that no one wants that board.  I use the Apple Pro Keyboard with my Windows Vista Box.  The volume up/down/mute keys all work.  The Apple Key works just like the Windows Key and activates the Start button.

Nice Custom Board really, the color scheme is really nice!

Not all rubber domes are bad haha.

You sure are. I don't know of a lot of people who use custom keyboards on their macs, I think I'd use a custom board on mine if I used it for my primary computer, but I just don't. A lot of the people I know that use Macs, they just use the standard 75% Mac Keyboard and don't bother with upgrades.

I use most of mine on a Mac - from Model M to HHKB.

You use that keyboard on a mac though? Interesting.

I use my Topre on a Mac. Am I interesting too?

You sure are. I don't know of a lot of people who use custom keyboards on their macs, I think I'd use a custom board on mine if I used it for my primary computer, but I just don't. A lot of the people I know that use Macs, they just use the standard 75% Mac Keyboard and don't bother with upgrades.

I use most of mine on a Mac - from Model M to HHKB.

You should use none of your keyboards on a Mac. You should use them all with computers running Windows.

What if my computer is running OsX and inside of OsX i have a VM running Windows 7 and which into this VM i have another VM running Windows 98 and so i am using a PS/2 IBM Model M keyboard for maximum compatibility?

Is that fine? Cause you know, Microsofts Software runs on any hardware, Apple included ;)

Just don't run OSX. It's a piece of crap. If you want a real mac, get a Macintosh SE with System 6.

Lenovo SK-8855. I hate shiny ABS. It's R01 at least, because R00 didn't register Shift release fast enough, when typing over 40 wpm.

I'm using a Thermaltake Knucker keyboard after my Majestouch 2's spacebar broke!

It's pretty gross haha. Exciting time knowing I am on the market for a new keyboard though!

Not sure if I want to change to Blue switches from Brown. I know I like brown, but maybe I will prefer Blues?! Decisions decisions!

Cherry G80-1851LPMDE

The layout is intriguing. My only complaints are too small modifiers and too big gap between the alphanumerical section and F-row.

Been using QFR with MX blacks and Granite PBT DSA all week, now I switched to Model M so I can take the Granite keycaps into work to go on my QFS MX green.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, CptBadAss sent it over, it arrived last Thursday. I love how loud and clicky it is and how solid it feels. I know at least one rivet is broken in it, I can hear it rattling, so I may look into bolt modding if I hear more start to go. Other than that, it's a cat hair magnet, and takes up an ungodly amount of space on my desk. Looking forward to my SSK that's in the mail :)

My cat sleeps on my desk during the day while I'm at the computer. Everything in the radius is a cat hair magnet :P

Back to my Nighthawk x8 with MX browns for now, I need a full size board with better rollover than my M has to play Dark Souls on PC.
