Thanks for quick response!
If I'm going to buy kmac 1.2, everyone will think I'm crazy for spending so much on a keyboard... I would be bullied so ****ing hard :S

Programmer-types who sit at a keyboard all day would shut right up once they tried it.

I don't know if I can agree with you there.  There are programmers at my work that have tried my Filco, and although they like it couldn't see themselves spending that much on a keyboard.  And this is for a Filco.  These guys have more money than I do, so that isn't an issue.  People just place value on different things.

that being said:
I'M SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GETTING ONE, KMAC 2 TITANIUM.

I was actually hoping the LZ-GH would have been that color of grey

But you can't really expect some people who are not keen on trying new things and don't appreciate them to really justify buying a keyboard for work (and just use whats given at work).
Like my boss, he sits at his comp at work about 10hrs a day, mainly replying emails which is a fair bit of typing considering he gets about 40-50 emails a day without fail. He still types with fingers and he earns about 3 times the amount I earn. Theres no way he would get a Filco even let alone something like this.
Just coz you type lots and have the cash wont instantly mean that such demographic would buy such things.

Would the 1.2 have an option for a winkeyless case?
I don't think so. I think the layout is 84 or 86 depending on how you build it. Check out DanGWanG's pics of his KMAC 1.2 in the gallery subforum

Maybe you're right but is it really such a big difference between filco and kmac? I know kmac has alluminium case, is fully programmable and has some lights, but is it really worth it?

Ok, so what are the breakdown in differences between a LZ and a KMAC?

LZ is technically a brand with quite a few different models of cases.  My understanding is that most of them use the A.87 PCB.  Also there is the KMAC 1, 1.2, 2, Mini, and a couple others in development.

So that question is a little  too wide open.

Yes, my apologies.  For those that are on the fence about the LZ-GH or a KMAC 1.2 or 2.  What are the differences between the two brands?  If I understand correctly, the LZ-GH only has a few LED's, whereas the KMAC has more.  Both are fully programmable?  Case is obviously a little different.  What are any other differences between the 2?

The real question to ask is what is the difference between the A.87 PCB and Kmac PCB as the case designs are just different in look, weight, style, ect.

Both PCB is fully programmable.
Both PCB uses Cherry PCB mount stabs
Both PCB can be had in 84key/86key/87key

A.87 has 2 types of PCB, Full LED PCB and Regular PCB.

Hopes this help.

So this buy will have an 87 key ANSI layout option (1.25x3/6.25/1.25x4 bottom row)?  If so I am in.

The case differences are pretty significant and shouldn't be dismissed easily imo. This is what I know about the case differences.

LZGH is going to be part aluminum and part stainless steel, which adds on the weight to the whole keyboard. The back bar is designs to provide two options for the incline angle. There two layouts available, 84 and 86, and each one has a different top case.

KMAC 1.2 has a full aluminum case and is hard anodized (some people reported that with constant contact with the case, the color from the original KMAC and KMAC LE changes, hard anodizing prevents that). The layouts available are also 84 and 86, but there is a block you can install for the winkeys instead of integrating it into the top part of the case. The feet for the case are different and you can also adjust the incline angle.

KMAC 2 (I believe) is also full aluminum and hard anodized. Layouts are the same as 1.2. But the bottom case is different. The feet are integrated into the case and there are holes where you can install small stands to further support the plate+pcb.

The 1.2 and 2 both have the blocks and I believe the standoffs as well.  However the plate does not allow for access to screwing down the PCB to the standoffs.  It is purely an option for going plate-less.

Also the 2 doesn't so much have feet built in, more along the lines of the entire bottom being wedge shaped.

Ah gotcha. Is it possible to screw the PCB to the standoff AND use a plate? Dat stability

And the PCB for the LZ-GH is the regular, not the full LED one.  Correct?  The KMAC 1.2/2 are regular PCB, or Full LED PCB?

I can assume then, that the LZ keyboard will be heavier then the KMAC, due to the stainless steel in the case.

If you are willing to drill through the plate you could screw down the PCB.  That also will depend on the location of the standoffs.

LZ-GH will be non-LED version and with the steel bar foot will be quite heavy.

At this time, 1 per person.  If there is any leftovers of another type of keyboard, then you will have to wait if you wanted it.  For example:  You ordered a KMAC 2, but you want both KMAC 2 and 1.2.  You will have to wait a week if you are highly interested in getting both.  That way, everyone has a chance at a custom aluminum keyboard.
