PRESENTING SERIES 00 XXXXL.

It's here. And it's 64x bigger.

IC FORM (cause y'all actually asked for this)

From the same five year olds that brought you the Series 00 metal artisans novelties.

They are back.

They ran out of ideas for their next product, so they made this.

Why?

Still trying to figure that out.

1. ALLOYS

* Yes these are actually real.

Black Anodized Aluminum

Silver Anodized Aluminum

Specifications

Name                     Color      Weight   Finish        Coating
Anodized AluminumBlack315 gSandblastAnodization
Anodized AluminumSilver315 gSandblastAnodization

2. DETAILS

Series 00 XXXXL is an unfamiliar XXXXL R1 Cherry-like profile. It looks sharp, but doesn't feel sharp. Probably still can give someone a concussion.

The black anodization is actually just a very very dark gray. Still better color matching than TKC Islander deskmats.

Fits on a NovelKeys Big Switch. We asked NovelKeys if they wanted to send us a free one. They ignored us. Highly recommend this Krytox GPL205 5 KG Bucket for lube. Not speaking from experience.

Each Series 00 has the identification info, AKA Series ID, engraved into the- okay.. who actually gives a s***.

3. TESTIMONIES

People had the pleasure of reviewing the Series 00 XXXXL.

"The Series 00 XXXXL is the keyboard equivalent of eating Wagyu Tenderloin with gold flakes and Heinz ketchup on top. The most extravagant, distasteful, unnecessary item that literally nobody asked for. If you really want to piss away your money please hit me up instead, I have a Lumina group buy spot I can sell you."

"So you know that saying of science should have asked if they should? Well here you go. So massive the local primate rehab went berserk. Like they have seen it before. Crusher of springs, breaker of boards."

- Patrick from Mechs & Co

"what"

No response.

- NovelKeys

"imagine wanting blanks that look like they were cnc'd by 5 year olds"

"highly doubt anything you produce would make me happy."

- some nobody on Discord

"You see, this is what you've done. You've gone and made the assumption that people wanted more. They didn't. No one wants this. What the f*** even is this? What's its point?"

- sentarius101, some rando on our server

4. GALLERY

You must be really bored if you're still reading this.

5. TIMELINE

This is the timeline for Series 00 XXXXL. They will probably arrive before the GMK set you ordered last year.

6. OUR COMMUNITY

7. HOW 2 COP

We used up all our money to manufacture these, and we still only had enough to make two. We're raffling one away because we need moni plzzz.

To get a chance to win this (AKA a chance to get a fat L like all the artisan raffles you've joined), join our Discord, and enter into the Series 00 XXXXL raffle in the #events channel.

We will pick the one winner in one week, April 7th 2021, and we will invoice you through PayPal. Your choice of black or silver aluminum.

Yes you have to pay for it. It's $169.69 USD. That's how much it cost to manufacture. Don't complain. Or we'll change it to a silent auction

8. SIGNATURE

Have no self respect? Shill Series 00 XXXXL.

Will an up-rated spring be provided? I'm thinking anything off a mid-80's Honda Civic should be sufficient.

Would preferred it if it was made in a Cobalt Niobium Zirconium or a Tungsten Titanium alloy, maybe for series 01?

Since many of you have way too much money and not enough sense, I am sharing an actual Series 00 XXXXL form here: https://esclab.typeform.com/to/h6Pkz6zi

No guarantees we'll actually run a GB, and even if we do, it'll be a small limited GB because these take up a lot of space, are very heavy, and cost a ton to ship. I will say right now that these won't be very cheap to manufacture and buy. So please temper your expectations. Thanks.

So I'd want one either way, but here's a serious question. Anyone know the actuation force of the big switches? Are these so heavy that they'll automatically actuate the switch, requiring a spring swap to make the switch functional? Again, I don't mind paying for it if it's just a paperweight or bookend. Just curious.

The aluminum one weighs 315 grams, so I estimate you'll need at least 100-200g extra for a reasonable up-force. You will 100% need a spring swap. And a tub of 205g0.

Yeah I just found the Kailh spec sheet; 280±60g. I still love it. I will definitely try to get my hands on one. I'm honestly surprised nobody has done this already.

Re: [IC] Series 00 XXXXL | Mints for Health 2021
« Reply #45 on: Fri, 02 April 2021, 17:38:17 »
Hello all.

I hope you are doing well! Today I wanted to talk to you as one of the humans behind esc lab and as loop.

As an Asian male growing up, what the heck is mental health?

Sad? Suck it up. Crying? 男人流血不流泪 (men only bleed, not cry). Disappointed? Do better next time. Tired? Keep going on. Depressed? What is wrong with you. Anxious? Don’t be anxious. Unhappy? Be happy instead!
Issues related to our minds are swept under the rug, and disagreements between individuals rarely get talked about openly and maturely.

It was only after growing up and being exposed to the real world more clearly did I learn about the concept of mental health. How to properly talk about my feelings, being honest about my vulnerabilities, being clearer with my boundaries, being more acknowledging and accepting of my flaws as a human being.

While we’re never perfect, we can learn to better accept our flaws, and work around them, rather than punish ourselves for them, and strive for an unattainable sense of perfection.

Learning about Minterly trying to bring an ultra positive and accepting vibe to the keeb community regarding mental health with “Mints for Health 2021”, this was something that spoke to me on a deeply personal level.

To support Mints for Health 2021 #IDONTMIND, we are super happy to bring a 1/10 Series 00 XXXXL Silver up for auction. All proceeds go towards Mental Health America (https://tiltify.com/@minterly/mints-for-health-2021); we do not receive a single cent from this.If you are struggling, #IDONTMIND - talk to us. We will also throw in a free custom engraving. We never do custom engravings, but for such a great cause, we will do a one-off. We will work with you on what to engrave.

Date:
The blind charity auction will be live from 12PM PST (noon) on Friday April 2nd to 12PM PST (noon) on Sunday April 4th.

Rules:
  • The bids start at $169.69 which is our fair market value. Note that neither Minterly or esc lab gets a single cent from this auction. All proceeds go towards Mental Health America.
  • Prize is a one out of ten Silver Series 00 XXXXL.
  • Once the winning bidder is announced/chosen, we will reach out immediately. Note that shipping might take a few weeks since we're still ironing out some details of this original April Fools idea that turned into something slightly bigger.
Full rules are here: https://www.minterlystudios.com/pages/IDONTMIND#auction

Do you really want a 5 pound solid block of metal on your desk
