Wish me luck...
« on: Sat, 08 November 2014, 11:07:56 »
About to hit the road for a 16 hour drive with a backseat full of precariously packed, irreplaceable keyboards (lzgh, ssks, at fs, f122s, kingsavers, zkb2s, etc.) and 2 mean ass cats. It's the creme de la creme of my collection.

Wish me luck and hope the cats don't crap on my early 80s IBMs!

Spread them out on a table and take a photo.

And the keyboards, too.
Citizens United violates the essence of what made America a great country in its political system. Now it’s just an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery being the essence of getting the nominations for president or to elect the president.
So now we’ve just seen a complete subversion of our political system as a payoff to major contributors, who want and expect and sometimes get favors for themselves after the election’s over.”

Get both and you won't have to buy cat beds because cats will lie down on your keyboards rather than any sort of plush beds you buy for them.

If you can setup something like the pic below, and connect it to your car's transmission, free energy all the way!

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Good luck!  If I've learned one thing from roadtripping with keyboards, it is to *not* put the keyboard face up on the front seat.  You never know when a turkey-like bird thing is going to fly into your windshield and get glass shards inside said keyboard.  You probably remember that though.  :P

Where is this great roadtrip taking you??  And more importantly, why wasn't I invited?  ;)

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

*Sigh* I suppose I could find a good home for them on my HHKB.

But seriously, that sucks.  Is it dead dead or is there a chance that you could somehow make it go all Lazarus?  At least everything else made it.

And how's the car upholstery?  I'd imagine that might never be the same either.
