I'd be in for 1x ANSI/ISO PCB. Hopefully Matias will have keycap sets available sometime in the near future:

However, we're gearing up to make it easier to do custom projects.  We're doing new keycap tooling, and will be making keycap sets available.

Thanks, we're pretty excited about it too.  We've been working on this for months.  It was a much bigger undertaking than I expected.

We'd actually finished all the drawings for standard caps some time ago, but then re-considered and decided to go for thicker caps instead...  which meant we had to do it all again.

Please include swappable CONTROL and CAPS LOCK keycaps in your future keycap sets.

Of course, will do.

alright, I've decided. Of the PCB interest-check threads you've started, this is the board I'm getting. In addition to not having any 1st hand experience with ALPS style switches (but wanting to) The path to my ErgoDox+Cherry board is clearing up ... this will be my gaming board, I think. Novel writing on the 'dox.

Anyway this has a higher MOQ and you won't have any trouble selling the other two MX boards.

The Price Will be Exactly same as 60% Cherry MX.
PCB - Plate - Case  : Exactly Same !  Promise.
The Alps Switch  : Cherry MX  availability and price issue remains, but as we konw, it's not a big deal at all !

I've already got tactile switches coming in from one source, and since your thread at the start didn't mention a case, I've got a metal case that will be coming from the other GB with an inexpensive metal case ... so in my case, I just need the PCB proper. Though I don't doubt many people going into this GB will be grateful for you providing an entire keyboard kit.

I'm used to the modern ANSI 87 key layout which has the 6.25x spacebar. Typically my knee jerk repsonse is to go with the 6.25x. I think here it should be 6.25x so the caps you guys provide can fit on sprit's 60% Alps, the Filco Zero, Duck Mini V2, Ducky 1087XM, and other future Modern ANSI Alps layouts.

* ALPS TKL (ANSI) - 1 .jpg (960.36 kB. 2048x1540 - viewed 1691 times.)

I agree 100%  for sure!

The bottom Row needs to embrace  101 and 104 key Layouts (ANSI = ISO  in most cases).

Supporting for the WK, WKL, Apple, HHKB  is actually an easy mission, as we seen My 60% Cherry MX PCB.

For the Alps, there is another Issue, as we terribly aware of it, space bars... stabilizers, Caps, Enter....

My Fellow GH members!   We may find a way to make it simple,
Let's Start  from Dell, SGI, and bunch of 101, 104 first,  and  accommodate some other Variables.. within Our very Best.

A New GB for Keycaps might follow the PCB, in my humble Opinion.  We have enough time to fix the PCB.

I Should confess I am a new comer, not in the tracks of You Guys,  But I feel like to say a Word : I Love You Guys, I Respect You So Much!
That's why I have Joined and Happy in GH.

Considering the preponderance of LEDs on his example images, and the video he linked where the entire keyboard lit up like a christmas tree as the user typed, I'm better than 9/10ths sure you can litter LEDs to your heart's content on his PCB -- even the ALPS one.

I'm starting to get back into ALPS again. I would love if we can work out a 75% size (84 key) that would work with apple PBT keycaps.
Would also be cool if someone designed an alps slider that could take cherry keycaps.

I've seen mention of alps/cherry crossovers; nothing definitive.

I would assume any ALPS keyboard would accept old alps caps regardless of materials unless you mean the mods were really odd sizes?

I'm just piping up in this thread to poke Spirit into considering hurrying the ALPS part of his giant GB monster that he's started. I've got matias switches in a drawer, waiting for a board ... Preferably a 60%  ;D

the main alpha section wouldnt be a problem, but the extra row off to the right, and the Fkey row to take it from a 60% to a 75% board would be the tougher part using only apple caps. Thats something I can work out myself though.
