Title: [CLOSED] 2 different GH60s giveaway, Orangesicle clack (mx).
Post by: Glissant on Tue, 12 November 2013, 16:51:30

THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED.

Oh Hi there.
I was going to do this when I got the GH60s in hand, but I'm getting tired of waiting for that to happen, so I'm doing it early.

I will be giving away 2x GH60s. 1 cherry mx orangesicle clack.

You will be able to pick between red, black, blue, white or brown switches in the gh60s, but because of the plates you can switch out the springs/stems yourself if you want other/exotic switches.

One GH60 will be in a clear acrylic case. The other GH60 will not have a tray so you will have to get that yourself.

Will ship worldwide.

What do you have to do for this giveaway? Tell me what you would like to win. That's it.

You can wish for every single item all together if you want. Pick and choose. Mix and match.

Brobot removed. I don't want to part with any brobot from my collection :) .

i would like to win one gh60

my reasoning

i am getting one made by JD, and id love one made by glissbro, to start a collection of geekhack made keyboards made by my favourite geekhackers

but bunny, you already have gh60s, you are clearly not deserving of taking the spot of another who doesnt have one?

i agree, so if i am lucky enough to win, i would like to donate a bunny gh60, to person of glissbros choice from this thread

That's actually VERY fair... you please 2 people all the same vs giving the 2x gh60 to 2 "different people"

I would have hopped on for a GH60, but nah, since I already have one coming, and since I love the ErgoDox so much I don't think I 'll be able to use one, forget two, so, since i won't be able to sell it since either since it is a gift, I think it should go to someone else who would use it better.

However, I would love the Hack Orange clack, because I've been unlucky, haven't drawn a CC skull yet and really want one, but I am unwilling to pay the extreme markup on one.

I took a break from keyboard collecting and gh some time ago. That was exactly the time when all that GH60 stuff happened. I missed the groupbuy. Now I regret it.

I would love to have a GH60, cause then I could finally build the 60% Iso keyboard I'm dreaming of.

I would love to have any of the items that you are giving away, but in particular the GH60 in the clear case.  Since I started frequenting this community, I have been drawn to the 60% boards.  Being of little money, I jumped on a Pure.  I love it, but have been super annoyed at how hard it is to find a 1.75 rt shift key to match many sets.   With the GH60, I would be able to put any set on there that I like and enjoy it.  Also, I like the idea of being able to tinker with it and I would love to try some black switches.  I have only owned reds, blues, and buckling springs.  I really like each for what they are, but the reds are tough to go back to after typing on my M.

I joined this site during the original GB, but didn't understand exactly what it was.  With each additional case and set made for 60% boards, I find myself wishing I had found the true joy of 60% earlier.  I take my Pure with me everywhere and with the GH60, I would continue that trend and try to convert all those that see it and question whether such a thing is truly useful.  My Pure would then go the wifey.

Thanks again for hosting this awesome giveaway.

Oh, and if the GH60's go to someone else, the possibility of owning my first clack would be awesome.  I have been trying to get one for nearly a year, but to no avail.  My wife thinks I am crazy to spend $25 on a single key cap, let alone what people spend on the open market.

I was going to enter this, but realized that; 1: I am planning on building my own 60% board soon, 2: I prefer clicky switches, and 3: I only need a 60% board for my incoming 60% Nostalgia set.  Therefore I will merely wish good luck to those of you participating.

And Gliss, you're one hell of a generous Geekhacker.

In this thread I learned I'm not one of Bunny's favorite Geekhackers :(

HAI GLISSBRO. I would really like the GH60 without the case so that it can go into a special acrylic case I've been saving. It would be a completely GeekHack keyboard with this case I've been saving plus your PCB. Plus, the BroBot and cable you gifted me are lonely so if you sent me the PCB, then they would be happy. If you don't send me a PCB, I will be forced to unleash lasers:

I don't need a GH60 but I could really cherish a clack being a "clackless person" and receiving one from a GH members giveaway would be the best. Thanks for the chance and your generosity.
EDIT; I'm changing my mind and re-entering for THE WHOLE ENCHILADA an extra 60% keyboard would come in handy, I missed the group buy and it will take a place in my keyboard rotation, its nice to have variety!!

I'd like to enter myself for a gh60 but without switches. I love the idea of the 60%, a small and compact board, perfect to bring around town whereever I go, especially to computer science class, where all they have are generic rubber domes that are super greasy.

The gh60 is perfect. The gh40 doesn't have number keys to use at whim, but the gh60 only has what is necessary.

EDIT: I'd like to win an orangesicle clack, i love to eat orangesicles, they're the best

I would love a GH60 lol. Brown switches, plate that allows switch modding and the acrylic case  ;D. It would be so much easier to take to class or to different houses. You should have seen me with my K90...... Then my shine. I treated it like a new born. *No one breath on it, it might get sick* Lol.
60% boards have always intrigued me. They look down right sexy. And I can probably game for a longer time on one since my arms would be closer together.  :D

Id love a GH60! I have a HHKB Pro 2 but I would love a Cherry MX 60% one day! Poker 2 is my favorite! I am a designer and I use linux, mac, and windows. It would be amazing to have a cherry and a topre to use! It would be awesome. Plus I really want to get into case and switch modification but need a mx board to do it with! Also Id love the Orangesicle because Orange is my favorite color and Halloween is my favorite holiday! Ive had to buy them for huge amounts of money and would love so much to get one either at cost or less. Here is a photo of my favorite 60% and I really wish I could have a Cherry MX GH60 with Blacks or Whites, they are way different and cant decide which I want first.    Good luck to all! You are a very generouss person for doing this contest!  :thumb:

I would be ecstatic if you chose me to be the new owner of a GH60 and a beautiful acyrlic case. It would really make me happy for once. I say that because I have been suffering from severe depression and anxiety for the past 2 and a half years with only a few sunny breaks on my otherwise rainy life. I am turning 20 this March and have yet to live the life of a normal teenager. I am alone and confused.

Due to my depression, grade 12 was the hardest year of my life. Getting through school when you can barely function has got to be one of the hardest tasks I have accomplished; especially with a good average. I got into all the schools I applied for, but turned down all the acceptances due to my inability to function in the normal world.

I have no clue what I am doing with my life right now. I am absolutely lost. I have no sense of direction or any goals. I have no friends and have left my house only a handful of times over the course of the past year. Every day tasks have become impossible. Something that the average person might routinely do causes me to freak out and worry. Because of this I haven't had a real job in 3 years. Don't get me wrong, I do odd jobs here in there for family members to earn a little cash, but when I do have money, I have to spend it very cautiously and plan out my purchases. I never get to spurge on myself.

I am happy maybe a few hours a week. If anyone on this forum has suffered from depression, you will understand what I mean. There is this overwhelming sense of loneliness and upset that stays with me and clouds my mind all day long.

I appreciate the little things in life; little things that can bring me joy and lift my sadness. Recently, one of those things has been... you guys guessed it.. mechanical keyboards! Although that may sound silly to any "normal" teenager, to me, and the rest of us Geekhackers it is not. I have been looking for a 60% for quite some time, so if you do happen to gift me with the GH60, I would be the happiest guy on the planet. Making me happy is not something lot of people have the power to do, and believe me, I don't take it for granted when someone does. I greatly appreciate it and hold moments like that close to my heart. I would never forget it.

Although even such a nice gift would not cure my depression, it would bring me an immeasurable amount of joy this holiday season and help me through such a rough period in my life - all because of the sheer selflessness of a kind individual.

**This is not meant to be a sob story. I am just telling my story for what it is. This is real life for me and many other people in this world, and I'm sure there are more people who suffer on this very forum. I don't want people to feel sorry for me, I just want people to realize that stuff like this is happening all around them, even to their fellow forum members. I debated PMing this to Glissant but decided against it. This is actually the first time I have ever posted anything like this in public, and it was extremely hard for me to do. To be honest, it feels really relieving. In the short time I have been here I have gotten a very warm sense of community from this site which is why I decided to share. Please prove to me that I made the right choice. Thanks everyone.

Edit: Wording.

I would enjoy to win the GH60 minus case in MX Whites. I have neither a board with MX whites nor a 60% keyboard (due to limited high school student funds), and I would like one for travels, such as to school. I have no need for the case right now, nor do I have a need for a ClickClack, so they should go to others who need/want them more than I. I just need a more portable keyboard than my current Tenkeyless boards.

I also clearly have skill in drawing them:

I would love to win a GH60 PCB with brown switches because then I would have an excuse to buy nubbinator's beautiful piece of work (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50555.msg1104723#msg1104723).  The combination would be epic and I would enjoy every second of it...

I would love to win the GH60 with the acrylic case because I want an excuse to add LEDs to a board and LEDs in an acrylic case is totally the way to go.  That would become my new gaming keyboard and with it I would concur many unknown lands...  :P

I think the CC should go to someone who would appreciate it more.  I do not want to start appreciating CCs because I already spend too much money on this hobby.  Ignorance is bliss...  :P

Edit: I ended up creating a second entry for this giveaway which is more complete (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50855.msg1118484#msg1118484).  I will continue to edit that post instead of this one...

I would love to win a GH60 with a case and Brown switches.

I was torn between getting a TKL or 60% when I purchased my QFR recently and would love to own a 60%.

If I did when I think what I would do is give my brother my WASD V1 with blues for Christmas and buy him a custom key set of his choosing. I use two keyboard right now one at work and one at home so winning a GH60 would allow me to continue with my day as I am used to but with some new swag :). also my brother is a big gamer like me but at the moment cannot justify spending money on a Mechanical Keyboard so he plays PC games on his laptop's built in keyboard which just destroys me to see that happen. If I win I will pay if forward and give something of mine away to my brother who desperately needs a nice keyboard for work and play!

I love my QFR but every time I use it I cannot stop wondering what it would be like to have enough room on my desk at work for things like the following: more coffee/tea, A to-do list, some pens, a laser pointer, Paper Art Doll of various anime characters/Vocaloids(guilty pleasure), or even just to see my desk and remember what it looks like :).

Good luck everyone!

Yeah, I know, but I overspent by nearly $1000 last month and this month is rapidly going downhill, and next month is Christmas - it is getting harder to justify random purchases, as nice as they might seem to me.

First, wow great gesture! You are really kind to do this for the community!
Second, although the gh60 is super sweet, i'm already happy with what i have, a humble razer, so i'd love to have my first cc, i've never been able to snag one in the 4grabs or ek sells, or even here, i missed every occasion, even the one for the gasmasks, so i have no cool keycaps :(
Maybe you can help? :D ;D

This is a really cool thing for you to do Glissant. That being said, I have my eye on that orangesicle clack, as I have yet to own one (or any CC for that matter) as well as the GH60s. I really love the colour, as well as orange creamsicles, so this is probably one of my favourite click clacks. Then again, I don't believe this is really a good enough reason for me to deserve this click clack. But was that the only thing I have to bring to the table? Oh... No of course not. All great plans must have a backup. They say there is no reward without effort. So I give you my best effort. Probably one of the most amazing things I've made thus far in my short 17 year old life. A solid hour and a half of work.

Now then.. Let me tell you a story.
More
It starts with a piece of paper. 15cm x 15cm creamsicle coloured origami paper to be exact.

But wait... What's this? An OEM profile F-Key from a CM Quickfire Rapid? The art begins.

What a familiar shape... Is that... No.. It can't be.

After getting the shape to an acceptable standard, I darken the lines and begin to cut it out.

The rough cutouts are done and the fit is tested before more exact cuts are made.

When the cuts are made, I make a tape loop and attach it to the back of the skull, attaching it to the cap as I work on taping together the edges.

When the edges are all taped together, I slide it back onto the key cap. Sadly I over-cut some edges and the key cap shows on the bottom, but I somewhat rectified it at the end.

That wasn't the end. I decided to do layers of tape on top in order to help preserve the art and to give it a glossy look. At the end, at a distance it just looks like a solid layer of lamination, which is the desired effect. It is secured to the key cap by tape wrapped around the bottom.

And that... Is how I created my Paper Skull. I actually like it so much that I think I am going to permanently keep it on my QFR.

After post edit: Working with tape and paper is a b****!

Nice paper clack :thumb:

Now, give me a GH60. No wait, give my dad a GH60.

I tease him with bringing a different 60% to his place every time I go, he really wants one but I don't really want to let one go. Poker's and Pure's mostly, no fancy Korean customs here. :C
I've started bringing him different switches to try, and eventually building a board for him. Don't have any spare pcb's but we'll make it work somehow.

He has yet to make a choice on switches, but he likes Red and Blue right now. He has also grown a liking to my pure, but he despises the fn layer layout, told him to let me try and get extra GH60's so he could program it to his wishes.

My dad is ****ing awesome btw, and appreciates technology a lot. Still not sure exactly what it is that he does at work, but he makes stuff roll. IT related stuff.

I'll get him a 60% eventually, just want to give him something nice that he'll enjoy forever. Fully customized to his likings.

Another astonishing giveaway, I'm kind of amazed at the generosity level around here these days.

I'd like to enter for one the GH60s in MX white flavor. I've entered a few GB since joining and only have one keyboard, so I've got far too many keys and I want to use them properly. I also feel like the GH60 is the perfect incarnation of the GeekHack spirit (sorry Ergodox, not hard feelings) and owning one would be an honor. I've already got a CC incoming so I'll leave it to the clackless.

Good luck everyone and thanks to Glissant.

I would love to win a GH60 with the acrylic case and a clack... the reason being I don't have a single 60% board and I have read countless times regarding these CCs all over gh ever since I joined and not have a single one without much funds to actually afford or trade for one. Furthermore I just recently received my letter from the CNO (College of Nurses of Ontario) that I PASSED MY BOARD EXAM THAT I HAVE BEEN SO ANXIOUS OF RECEIVING. Everything depended on me passing this exam, it was all or nothing. Imagine your 4 years of undergraduate going to absolutely worth nothing without this license to work as a nurse. It would be an amazing celebration reward for me! =')

First of all i want to thank you Glissant for doing this super awesome giveaway!

I would like to enter this for the gh60 board (doesnt matter which one as long as it comes with a plate for it :D).

Why i think you should chose me? I will try to be as short as possible and not the post a wall of text here.

So my first touch to mechanical keyboards was when i used the BW of a friend of mine like a year and a half ago and dreamed of getting a keyboard like his for quite a while (literally i dreamed of it every night as i was struggling to save enough to buy it). After some time passed i managed to buy the BW and one of the first things that i did after was to learn how can i customize it, because i have seen this on the keyboards of the starcraft 2 pro players. And that was the time when i stumbled upon Geekhack while i was trying to find info of how to make wooded keycaps (i gave up on the idea some time after that). As you can imagine things went from bad to worse since i joined this and started browsing the site everyday. I got literally addicted to the keyboards and the way of customizing them. My real problem is that i live in Bulgaria and as you know mechanical keyboards are alot more expensive in Europe and since Bulgaria is the poorest country in this region i am really limited to how much i can spend on my addiction. That is the reason why i passed the GH60 group buy and i really regret that i did not find a way to get the money from somewhere and buy it. Now i am dreaming of it and thinking how i can make a board like it on my own since this is maybe the best keyboard ever created with almost endless possibilities of customization, programing and functions.

Apart from this as some people on the forums may know i am very very very sentimental person and i am really getting attached to the things that i am owning so i do indeed win a GH60 from you, you can be damn sure that i will look/use it every day and think of how awesome of a guy you are. Some time ago Bunny gave a Ducky keycap puller that is standing right in front my monitor and every time i look at i thank his for his generosity and send my best wishes to him. If i get the board you can also be sure that it will be in safe hands because i will keep it safe like my eyes :D

Best of luck to everybody else that entered this give away, and again a bit THANK YOU to Glissant for making GH even more of an awesome place!

Wow, even if I am pretty sure that you mentioned in your last giveaway that it was your LAST giveaway, well I won't complain that you're making a new one.

I am interested in a GH 60 because when the GB ran, I was short of money when I considered all I needed to get one built. Since then, I realized that I should have ordered a pcb at least.

I could use one with a case, but I don't mind getting one without a case since there's many 60% cases to get.

I don't think I deserve it more than anyone else, but I would be very happy to win it!

rowdy, I think he's keeping it open a few more days, but it will be over before I end my giveaway. You should however enter that group buy no matter what, as I am sure you'll regret it if you suddenly end up with a 60% mx board in the future ;)

Yeah, I know, but I overspent by nearly $1000 last month and this month is rapidly going downhill, and next month is Christmas - it is getting harder to justify random purchases, as nice as they might seem to me.

Haha, @rowdy, I can't tell if he is trolling you or giving you a chance to make him feel bad about making you buy a set for a board you don't have and increasing your odds of getting one.

Neither - Glissbro's been here a fair bit longer than me :)  All good.

I'm pretty sick, so that's the excuse I'm going with when I mention this change; the clack is an orangesicle, not hackorange.

Glissant, your generosity is amazing and appreciated by everyone, not just the people who win.
Bunny, you always seem to step up.  You have been so generous and continue to be a shining example of selflessness.

Hello Glissant,

This is a generous giveaway kind Sir, giving people possibility to try out GH60 in their lifetime. I would love to win GH60 with white switches (or any switches you have really).  It would be a marvelous for me to recieve and use one board which carries 4 chances that otherwise would be unatainable:

1. Chance to use a board with white switches
2. Chance to have something designed and produced with time and effort of wonderful GH people
3. Chance to use 60% layout
4. Chance to use one of a kind board put together by your hands :) And modeled to be modified when heart desires.

It would be a magnificent piece to be put on office desk for daily use :)

Thank you for such a chance :)

I'd like to win a GH60 with browns or clears as well as a brobot and clack.

GH60 - Found out about this board too late for the GB, love 60% boards, want to own them all! The clear acrylic case sounds awesome.

Brobot - Really nice item, would like to add it to the collection, do not own one.

Clack - I own a clack, I am just being greedy.

Disclaimer: I am definitely not the most deserving of any of these! Good luck to all!

I am interested to win the GH60 and the clack. What I will do is that I will sell the GH60 to a (lucky?) person in my country at the highest possible price and donate 100% of the money back to GH for the running of the site. I do hope to get the clack though as I have never owned one and if I do, I will also donate some of my own money for the clack to GH together with the sale of the GH60.

The subject mentions a brobot?  If that's up for giveaway, I'd like to win that so that so Bob will have some company this holiday season. ;)  Oh and I'll give you naming rights! :thumb:

I wish for the orangesicle clack because I have GH spirit (and Photoshop):

Thanks again to Bunny for being an amazingly generous person. This community would be unbearable without people like him, tjcaustin, jdacarpe, Bro Caps, CPTBadAss, Halverson, Mkawa, whitefiredragon, and I am sure many more but those are the ones I can be bothered to type right now.

That being said; I am not at all convinced by most of these posts. I was really hoping people would step up and not be lazy, but most of you have just not even thought about what it means to get hundreds of dollars of stuff for free. It's not all about NEED in this world we live in. So even if you don't need what is being given away you could always enter with what you think would be a good entry. Maybe you'll give it away as a holiday gift to somebody? You never know.

Step up your game or I'll be forced to give it all to demilk.

Edit: Halverson, not sure if you're mad that I'm giving it away or not, but I want to say that your gift will forever be in my heart. I just can't stand clacks anymore, so I am giving it away to someone that will hopefully enjoy using it a lot more. Let me know if you feel some sort of way about it, and I'll for sure keep it.

I am perfectly fine with this.  :))

All of it.

I would use one of the GH60's to experiment with, I would turn it into a HHKBGH60 switch tester that could be sent around for people to try and also so people could see what the GH60 is really about, custom keymaps, the flexibility in layout, and also since bunny threw in the nostalgia set people could get a good idea of how awesome that set is in the process. Of course details would need hashed out but this is just brain storming.  :o

The other GH60 I would like to send to clickclack with whatever his favorite mx switch is and try to find him a key set he desires as well just as a thank you from the community.  ;D

For the orangesicle I would give it to zenuty if he has not found one yet because his collection is amazing and he is a clack addict, he likens it to cocaine and he is a true bro.  8)

The brobot would be given away or raffled in some way to raise funds to help support brocaps and V2, even if he doesn't need it or want it :p

PS: I am not good with words and seek absolutely nothing out of this other than giving back to others.  :thumb:

Also once demilk gets his topre HHKB he won't need any MX boards.  :-X

Let's try this again. Let the (serious) begging begin! :P

-----

Many, many, many (perhaps 10?) years in the future, keyboards will probably be a thing of the past.

In one of these future days, a kid will wander into my (hopefully existent by that time) office in some university where I'll be teaching.

He/she will be disgusted. He'll see this weird thing on top of my desk, which I will be hitting with my fingers making an "absurd" amount of noise.

"What is that?" the kid shall ask.

"It is a keyboard. An old, yet the best ever made input tool. To this day, all these touch crap and finger move and moving stuff with you mind and speak recognition has not made me as comfortable as this amazing board."

"I don't see what is special about it. It's inefficient, noisy. Not only, it is ugly!"

"UGLY?! That definitely it is not. You see, this board was assembled by Glissbro, a really nice guy from this great place on the internet. Not only that, this board is a tribute to another nice guy that, even though I never spoke to him, gave that impression to me. Only this makes this board special. However, it also is dressed with a set of caps specially made for its kind donated by a great bunny. Weren't that enough, it has a brobot as its esc key. Brobots were made [hope they will be still in the making! :P] by a funny guy that promised me one of these keys for my BS boards. So, you can say you don't like keyboards and that you like controlling things while pointing your nose, but you may never again say this keyboard is ugly."

The kid will get silent and quietly leave the room, never asking me to review her grade.

That will be the beginning of my fame as a crazy professor.

I'd love a GH60 with MX whites.

I don't have any 60% boards so it'd be my first and I don't own anything with white switches so it'd be a nice addition.

Thanks a lot for doing this. Although I've never thought I'd participate in a GB or a thread like this for a more-or-less standard keyboard since getting an ergodox,...

I've been bringing my ergodox to school and dev conferences recently and showing it to people especially at Openmobility (http://www.openmobility.cz/en/)'s booth dedicated to mostly open hardware. Many of them actually liked the idea, but lacked dedication or money to try an ergonomic keyboard, such as ErgoDox, key64 or the upcoming ErgoGP. Therefore, I'd love to have something less "weird"—a GH60 would be excellent!—to show them. I hope it would bring more new people to this community.

edit: I'm interested in GH60 preferably with MX White switches and acrylic case, but other configuration would be awesome as well.

I would love the click clack, I do not have one and I think they are just awesome and to own one would mean a lot to me. I missed entering for the nightowl by 1 day(I got on their website to enter and it said the drawing ended the day before, I was crushed) and I lost out on the most recent raffle as well.

I do not feel comfortable entering for either of the keyboards anymore since I already have a lot of keyboards and I am trying to cut back because I am literally going to have problems storing them. I think that someone could appreciate the board much more than me just for the fact that I already bought a poker after I first entered this drawing and soon ordered a custom 60% from sprit. I would love to see someone win those keyboards who doesn't already own a 60% board, and so for that reason, I don't feel right trying to win either of them.

Actually I change my mind. Now that the computer I bought for my older brother has arrived, I am trying to find a board that he would like. This would be perfect. Since he is now getting back on his feet I thought why not and bought him a computer. He used my board and loved it. Now I wish to give it to him to go with he computer.
He really liked browns. So acrylic and mx browns.  :D

Orangesicle whaaa!? OK, shiz just got real, so I'll try to once again prove my passion for orange.

It is the proud school color of my dad's alma mater, Oregon State, it's also where I graduated as well... so orange has flowed through my veins since I was born. There are probably other members who may like the color orange, but I dare you to find another loves the color more than me.

Exhibit A: despite being lactose intolerant, I still buy stupid stuff like this ice-cream, because it's orange and has a beaver on it.

(there are more pictures of this stupid thing than I'd care to admit)

I gaurantee that Orangesicle will have a loving home alongside Hackorange on a very orange keyboard. Cheers

de-lurking for this giveaway!
Items I want to win: cherry mx blue GH60 in a clear acrylic case w/ oransicle & nostalgia set.
I'm currently typing on a dell rubberdome, and is contemplating purchasing a mechanical keyboard. However, I wish to own a custom keyboard, and not a mass produced one from a factory in China. A custom built keyboard is infinitely better than a factory keyboard due to its programmable features, tailored key layouts, community support, customizable accessories, and of course, in this case, being FREE (putting a great emphasis on free due to university student financials). I've chosen mx blues due to it being one of the more popular switches, as well as the CLICK everyone associates with blues. This way it would be possible to upgrade the blues to the much raved ghetto green switches in the future with an accompanying beast switch tool and black springs. The nostalgia set would be perfect for a gh60 due to it being the first(?) 60% featured set group buy here, as well as a way of receiving bunny's generosity. The orangsicle would be the CHERRY on top, as it complements the keycap set well and fills the void of novelty and fanciness of the esc position.

Edit: I forgot to mention why I choose not to purchase a custom keyboard from the classifieds.
Aside from student tution and such, I also have quite a severe case of ocd. Most keyboards in the classifieds are used and therefore having conflicting issues with my cleaning disorder. I wouldn't be able to enjoy a preowned keyboard, although they are quite nice (looking at you korean customs). A newly built keyboard would solve this issue and allow me to enjoy the clicky-ness of mechanical switches.

Welcome to Geekhack!

On another note, I am withdrawing what might be considered my entry.

I have too many keyboards as it is, and two more on the way.

I have one 60% (HHKB) and use it on Mac, so I am unlikely to switch to a similar layout MX keyboard on the Mac.  And I miss the arrow keys too much under Windows.

Also I was going to buy a GH Nostalgia set in Bunny's GB, and then look to get a 60% board to put it on, but really can't afford it this month or next, or probably even January, so I have one less reason to enter for a keyboard I am not overly likely to use.

GL to everyone who is entering!

And thank you again to Glissant and Bunny for their generosity to the community :)

GH60 with whites and no case would be a great start to customizing but I already have a 60%.
Orangesicle would just be beautiful but I already have a clack.
Brobot would be really damn cool. That I do not have and am quite interested in.

Whether I am granted one of the things here or buy it elsewhere, I just know I need all of it. I need it.

Post count low, wallet abuse high.

This is a really great thing and the generosity I've seen about on GH is rather inspiring.

Sure, I'll step-up my game. My apologies, I didn't realize we were graded on our grovelling ability. For reference, previous post was:

Quote
I'd like a GH60 with MX reds. I'm new here, so I missed the opportunity to buy one in the GB. Came here looking for more info on the HHKB as I'm a broke college student. Decided waiting for the GH60 would be worth it.

Hoping for the best.

I still want the GH60 with MX reds. The case, unnecessary, but would be nice. I'd probably want to help out some other GB with the increased budget I'd have.

Now for the grovelling:

So, as I mentioned before, I at some point decided I was looking for an HHKB. The thing stopping me was the price. Scoured the internet for reviews... and pretty much everyone loved it. That said, I still was trying to convince myself. After all it was a $300 keyboard. So this completely absorbed a week or so of my time. Ultimately I decided I couldn't afford it.

Along the way towards my endeavors though I ended up finding reddit.com/r/mechanicalkeyboards. About a week or so later I saw these pictures: http://imgur.com/a/C79sk (http://imgur.com/a/C79sk). Damn... thought I was done with this.

Intro GeekHack. I went about looking for more convincing to buy it. I found it, but then I found a cheaper, more preferable option. The GH60. It literally avoids all the compromises I'd be making with the HHKB. Up to this point I had no idea what a group buy was, so learning what I could about what was going on it turned up that I missed it. I saw indications of more on the way though, perhaps, someone would order their own and start selling them. So I've been here since. It's almost been kinda detrimental seriously. The need to know what's going on. Checking several times a day. All this to find out one thing. When the hell can I get one? Not to be mean to WFD or anyone else involved... I just want to know when and how much :P

Getting one guaranteed to be sent to this would answer that question in the best possible way.

I tried too and my intention is to flow the money back into running GH website, unless GH does not need this funding. The reason I do this is because when I read Glissant generous offer, I was humbled by his generosity and the first thing I thought about is how could I give back? I may be new here but I find that I was able to contribute a lot more in GH compared to other forums. Something in this community flows well with me. So, what better way than to win the GH60, change it back into $ and pump it back into GH website to ensure it's longevity.

To be honest I thought at least some people might want to put some effort into winning hundreds of dollars worth of stuff.

Its not for a lack of interested that my posts are not very convincing.  I am not the creative type when it comes this sort of thing.

Here are some more reasons why I would love this keyboard and I think I would make a great 'forever home' for it.  ( Yes, I adopt rescue dogs.  :P
More
[attachimg=1]
)
- I want to get more involved with the development side of this community.  I was able to give $40 towards a good cause with bunny's raffle, but I want to be able to get involved more.  I really appreciate all the knowledge here and I want to be able to contribute better.  I think this board would be a great way for me to get more involved.
- I have a case idea that I really want to try.  I think it needs to be done on a smaller board (to start anyway), so I think this would be a great fit.  Basically, I have silicon pads which we use in another application to distribute pressure.
More
[attachimg=2]
I want to attempt to bolt a PCB directly to an aluminum plate, with these between the two.  I think a GH60 would be a prefect board to try this case idea with.
- I want a board to be able to experiment with LEDs on.  I want to better understand the circuitry involved in regards to the resistor calculations, diodes, etc...  I am a very hands on person, so I need a project like this to really get my hands dirty and learn.
- I want to be able to experiment with different switches and springs.  If I use my case idea I will be able to easily switch out switches and springs and such.  I really want to try the trampoline mod as well, but I can't easily remove the switch tops on my Filco.
- I think I have some good ideas (and hopefully some new/unique ideas) for fitting full sized keyboard functionality into smaller boards.  I have put some thought into a 40% Fn layer
More
[attachimg=3]
(not sure its all possible yet), but I really want to get a numpad built into a small board.  I think a GH60 would be a great board for me to start working on this.
- I love all the work that metalliqaz has been doing with his keymap software and I would love to be able to help test and contribute to that.
- I have a RasPi which is dying for a project.  I really want to try to build an integrated system with the RasPi built into a basic keyboard case and be directly wired in.  I think the GH60 would be a great fit for this concept.
- I recently purchased a HAKKO FX-888D which is just itching for a keyboard project.  I can hear it pleading as we speak...
- I have purchased keycaps that do not yet have a home.  We can't stand for homeless keycap.  We must find them a home...  :)

As for the clack.  I can't afford to even consider clacks given all of the projects I need to try to put parts together for.  If I am ever going to own one, it would have to be a gift, so I might as well be in the running.  :)

I love this community.  I am relatively new here, but I have been blown away with how kind and generous everyone is.  This thread is another fine example of the culture you all have shaped here and the pillars in the community who make it all possible.

Edit:
It appears that the goal to "persuade" Glissant with why we should win has been removed from the OP.  The rules may have change, but I am still going to edit this post to give more reasons why I should win.  :)

I am designing a new case and I feel that the GH60 would be the perfect board to test my design.

Basic description of my case (images attached):
- 3/32" Aluminium bottom plate
- 3/32" (TBD) Silicon pad
- PCB + optional plate
- Large rubber stick-on feet on the back
- Small rubber stick-on feet on the front
- Bolts to hold the three layers together.
- Depending on the PCB, there will be cutouts in the silicon pad for the USB connector and the controller if necessary.

Motivations for my design:
- I want the solid feel of plate mounted switches, but without having to use a plate (could if you want to).  By having the PCB bolted to the back plate via the silicon pad, I should be able to get a very solid feeling PCB.
- I wanted to get some of the benefits of PCB mounted switches.  Easy access to open switches.  I want a little bit of the feedback of the PCB when you use PCB mounted switches.
- By using the silicon, I hope to achieve lots of the benefits of the Trampoline Mod.  Basically, it will be quieter than most cases and should have a little bit of a bounce/spring/feedback on bottom out.
- I want a super simple and rugged design that can be easily adapted to different PCB layouts.
- I want a very low cost case that is very accessible for prototyping.  The total for this case should be in the ballpark of around $30.
- I want a relatively low profile, but with the ability to increase it by adding larger feet.  Gotta have a low profile for my new SA caps that are coming.  :)

With a GH60 I will be able to perfect the design for this PCB as well as get me a lot closer to supporting all the Poker layouts.  I feel this type of case will be perfect for smaller boards, so if I can get prototyping on a GH60, I will be able to cover more ground towards making this case available for others.

Thats my pitch... Here are some very basic renderings.  I did this all tonight, so they are still very rough and none of the dimension are final.  I used the GH60 layout for the initial design, but I know I will need to make modifications to some stuff.

And a shot of the silicon pad.  This is what I currently have, but I have a supplier for this already because we use this at www.kiteaid.com to distribute iron pressure.

If I had a clack I would sell it for more than it's worth. I mean... I would love it and cherish it for all time! Yeah, that's it!  :thumb:

But for real if I had a GH60 I would give it to my loving wife who is making me soup while I am sick in bed.  :-*

I have never used a 60% before.  Since joining GH I have seen so many of them that it has gotten me interested. I also really want a board with a plate that allows me to try out different switch customizations. I do not own any soldering equipment and have never soldered anything before. So even if I did have the money to get one in a group buy I wouldn't be able to put it together.
Lastly, if I did happen to win and by some chance found that a 60% board isn't my cup of tea. I will either give it back, or give to the person of the OP's choice.

As for the orangesicle Clack. I only have the one that I won from EK. It is so hard to find them for a reasonable price that If I was lucky enough to get it I would never sell or trade it period.

Please sir, can I have a GH60? I don't need a case or tray or anything like that, sir, no sir. I promise to feed it and train it and take very good care of it.

All I have at the moment are some neglected rubber domes I picked up from the shelter that would have been put down otherwise and this poor thing:

[attach=1]

It's only got 48 keys and it's not even in one piece! I'm breaking down as I say this, but there's no PCB... NO PCB! Gah! Have mercy!

I tried.(The second time) Like I said this isn't for me. I can't really afford anything now that I paid for a computer for my older brother and I am trying to pay some bills. These high school budgets suck. Saw this post and didn't really think about his own board until I saw the box laying in my room. His computer arrived with no keyboard so I am venturing out for a board and paying bills, and going to school lol.

Just so happened to bump into this thread while spying and I can't believe my luck. I've missed out on the GH60 GB as I was a bit late to the game, but you're giving me another chance to have a go at it!

Coming from a faraway place,  it's near to impossible to get non-mainstream-branded mech keyboards let alone 60% keyboards (I dont think anyone has even heard of one here, and I've never seen one until joining GH). Online shopping proves to be a challenge as well, with EK not shipping their HHKBs to my country. I've been wanting a 60% board as after going to 87%, I realise I seldom use the 13 keys on the right, so more opportunity for me to minimise my desk space. The programmable board is another plus, as I can now program some keys to be del and pgup/dn buttons. With the GH60 being a community design and driven project, it will be a nice to own a piece of GH history as I dont see myself leaving the community any time soon.

I will definitely appreciate and fully utilise the GH60 with the white switches (love clickly sounds but blue is bit too loud for the office), and one in a case will be fitting since sourcing a case though not impossible would prove to be difficult. I can't wait to be able to use it with the GH60% keycaps from bunny and surf GH in the office with ninja skills.

Okay this will be me trying to convince you but most importantly opening others into my life a little bit more:

In my families life we try to give what we can to others instead of taking all for ourselves it is a way we try to live by and hope to continue to this lifestyle and pass it on to our current child and to our future children.

My wife and I have been together since we were both 12 years old went to middle school together and meet out on the soccer field. We got married freshman year of College.
We were 19 years old. We knew getting married at such a young age would make things harder for us in the earlier years of our lives. In my last year of College and my wife's first year of Pharmacy school my wife had this urge to have a child.
If she had to wait 4 years until having a child she would have fallen into a depression I can almost guarantee that. So we again made a well informed decision and knew what to except by having a child at 21 years old.
I was just graduating when my daughter was born and my wife took of from Pharmacy school to stay at home with my daughter for at least an entire year. We both felt what was best for our daughter was to be raised by her parents as much as possible in the first year of her life.

This decision made our financial stability not the best. I did get a job after graduating but paying for student loans for two on one entry level employment was not the most luxurious thing.

The reason we decided to have a tougher life in our early years was so that we can have the most time with our family and our children's family as long as possible. What this meant for us was while everyone else was out partying, having the newest phones, computers, living quarters, etc.
We made by with what was affordable and would get us by. I got very good at fixing things with no tools or repairing things as much as I could. This lifestyle continues to this day as we save our money so we can provide our children a life where they can experience a family oriented lifestyle.
We are very much in belief with the idea that family comes first.

After the birth of our beautiful daughter Chayse Haven we had a long conversation about what we would do for our next child after my wife graduates from Pharmacy school. We are still not 100% certain on which way we will go but we are 100% certain on either adopting a newborn,
or participating in a foster program to provide a child in need a new life and hopefully more love than they can handle. Now this is not going to happen for at least 4 years and we know that, but we cannot wait!

In the meantime we had conversations about helping others who might be blessed enough to have a child on their own. We decided to look into surrogacy programs. My wife and I felt strongly about the gift of a child and what it means to a family.
I will not go into much detail here as to not bore anyone. If anyone would like to know more about our surrogacy journey feel free to PM me. We are very open about it.

About a year ago we were matched with a couple from New York. Everything went great and they now have a beautiful daughter as well named Julia. We have a wonderful relationship with the family and on occasion talk and of course through social media we get to see their little bundle of joy!
Again I will not go into all the detail but I will say it was an exciting and wonderful journey we went through, yes even me who really had not much to do with the whole ordeal except to me supportive and make sure my wife was happy and healthy through it all.

The last thing I will tell you is about my sister-in-law, She is 17 years old and is pregnant.

First off this frustrated me the most I feel out of everyone in our family. I mean I was pissed at first. How could she let this happen! That was my first reaction and looking back on it was the most awful reaction I could have had.
After discussing everything with my wife we decided it would be best if we offered for her to stay and live with us. We felt this was the best option for her so she would be able to graduate high school and go get a 2 year degree somewhere.
Ultimately she decided that staying with her mother, my mother-in-law is what she felt most comfortable with. I still wish she decided to stay with my wife and I. I feel that was the best option for her, but I hope she proves me wrong.

So that brings my story to today, We are in the process of started our second surrogacy journey with the same couple as the first. We hope we can deliver, pun intended, another healthy beautiful baby brother or sister for Julia.

The last thing I will tell you about is our future plans for giving back. After my wife becomes a Pharmacist we will be doing fine financially and we want to give back to others with some of that money. What we do not want to do is just donate money to a charity.
What we are discussing is taking a certain percentage of our income, not sure on the value yet, and putting that away every year then near the end of the year we will take that money and help someone in need.
The idea is we can personally know this persons story/situation and then help anonymously. We want to give the ability for someone else to believe in the kindness of others and hopefully if they are ever able to help others out as well. Even if it is just a place to stay for a night or two.

I plan to be part of this community for years to come and hopefully here in a few years I can start really giving back and make a difference in the keyboard community as my family and I try to in our everyday lives.

I wanted to write this out to let those of you who I feel closer to know a little bit more about me and my family than you would just pick up from the forum conversations we have.

If I do get picked I would love to have a GH60 of any kind but of course a GH60 with browns, since I have blues and greens already would be nice. As well as a case.

Again if anyone would like to know more feel free to PM me. Thank you for listening.

To be honest I thought at least some people might want to put some effort into winning hundreds of dollars worth of stuff.

I know that my low post count makes me a lesser member, that's how things work, but I still wanted to point something out.

I'm having mixed feelings about all this situation. I don't know where I'm going with this but let me try and analyze it.
So basically this is a giveaway but contestants have to deserve the prize. After all, why not, that can be fun. Most entries are about what makes GH a cool place and how your doing this makes it even cooler. Others tell a story and it's nice, it helps build a community spirit.

Then, when some posts are not up to your standards (since entries are rated on how convincing you think they are), you decide to retract an item. Didn't you think advertising for a free CC would attract at least a few useless "gimme" entries? As Demik pointed it out, these are "game losing air balls", they are bound to happen, this is the internets, not a book club. Just don't pay attention to them and carry on. Retracting the clack basically feels like you're saying "none of you are worth it". So what about people who spilled their guts here trying to show a part of themselves that maybe they weren't too comfortable sharing with total strangers on the Web? Not worthy? You decide.

Honestly I'm pretty inclined to agree with you here. Offering something in a giveaway and then retracting the item because a few people make no effort is a slap in the face to anyone who DID make the effort. Obviously I can't tell someone what to do with their property but it struck me as a bit of an unfair move.

I was getting my jimmies rustled by your post Kouni, and I started to defend myself, but then I realized that I was being stupid.

I have yet to be persuaded, and if this makes me look like a bad person to you, so be it.

If you didn't make an effort you aren't going to win in this giveaway. If you made an effort you have nothing to worry about, you will be in the drawing if there are more than one person eligible.

Are you crying because something was removed? Well dry those tears, little one. You can still win everything that was originally in the first post. Unfortunately you'll have to make an effort.

I will say this though; the clack was given to me as a gift by Halverson. It was one of the many amazing things I experienced here on geekhack, so I want the recipient to be worthy of the clack.
I don't see an entry worthy in this thread.

Now THAT's slap to the face :). (talking about entries that want the clack. There were some entries that were slightly interesting, but nothing special)

He is giving stuff away.  He gets to make the rules / change the rules as he sees fit.  He was asking people to convince him so if nothing was convincing enough I think he is totally within his right given his original rules to pull items from the giveway.  Think of it like a reserve in an auction.  You don't meet the reserver, the item does not get auctioned...

Don't give the guy a hard time about being generous.  When you want to give away hundreds of dollars worth of stuff, you can make whatever rules you want to do it...

This is just what i was thinking but the other thing that passed through my mind was that is Glissant doesn't have much free time and/or something else i will be happy to get a DIY kit (as i said IF by some miracle it happens that i win). But yeah on the other hand i agree with you that getting something that is build by someone means alot more then just getting some parts and building it on your own.

hmmm didn't think of it this way....might make the gift that much more invaluable :)

To me, either way it would be invaluable.  This would be one of those sentimental type gifts that you just can't explain to people.  Similar to the Bunny cap that I have that keep floating around my boards even though it doesn't match worth a darn.

I'll ask the persons that win if they want a kit or if they want it built by me :).

From now on any entry will do, but those that took some time will get two entries.

And why would you be on my ignore list?

I'd like to enter for the GH60 please. It's something I'm pondering over but it would be even more of an honour, and more so a great pleasure and joy, to have something so special built.

As I already have a GH60 in the wings waiting for me and am looking at getting the Sprit 60%, I'm not going to toss my hat in.  I just wanted to say thanks for doing something awesome like this.  I always love seeing someone do stuff like this.

Edit:  Gah, you added orangesicle, so I may just have to do something.

I wrote a story, it take up a lot of room so if you would like to read it, just expand and enjoy!

More

A father is working in his office late on night.

"Damn..." he said, "This needs to be ready for deployment by the morning".
Taking a sip of his gourmet coffee he continues typing away with an expert dexterity.

click...click..click click click...click.

Upstairs in the room above him a young 2 year old girl is trying to fall asleep but the rhythmic sounds coming from her father's office keeps her awake.
After a few minutes she decides to go see what her father is working on. What could possibly keep him up this late?

Thud Thud Thud...He hears footsteps coming from up above.

"What is that girl doing up there?" he wonders.

Suddenly the door to his office creaks open with a soft push from the girl.

"Daddy?" she says.

"Yes, baby?" he replies.

"Why are you still awake?"

Before he can respond she says, "When the sky is dark that means it is night night time. That's what you tell me".

"Not for me tonight baby", he says.

"Why?" she replies.

"Well baby, daddy has to have something done by the morning so I have to stay up until it is done even if the sky is dark. You understand?" he says.

"I guess...", she pauses, "I know!" she shouts. "I will help you, that way you can go night night!" she says with an innocent tone. "I go get my laptop, be right back, okay?".

"What is she up to now?" he thinks.

Moments later she returns with her My Little Pony Learning Laptop and sits in her teddy bear chair and opens her laptop.

"Okay daddy, I will work so we can go night night soon" she says.

"Okay baby" he says.

Minutes pass. Click...click click click...click....

"What's wrong baby?", he says as he notices she is just staring at her laptop.

"I need a keyboard daddy".

"Your laptop has a keyboard in it baby".

"No! I need a work keyboard like you daddy" she says.

Yes that's right, she always calls his keyboards, "Work" keyboards.

"I can't help without a work keyboard" she says.

"I'm so sorry baby, I forgot, hold on a second".

He stands up and opens the closet and grabsanother keyboard and sets it in her lap and goes back to work.

Click....click click....click.

He stops for a second and watches his daughter. She is fumbling with the USB cord. Trying to plug it into the non-existent connector on her My Little Pony Learning Laptop.

She mimics plugging it in and the cord falls to the ground. "Okay daddy, I'm ready to work!, okay?" she says.

This made him laugh...He remembers that she loves his keyboards because as she says, they make pretty sounds.

Together they work, click click click...click...click...click click.

Half an hour later he stops typing....silence...he looks at his daughter and she is fast asleep with the keyboard still on her lap.

He takes the keyboard and sets it on his desk and picks her up. She pushes her face into his chest and hugs him tightly. He takes her upstairs and puts her back into bed.
Before leaving he gives her a kiss and says, "I love you."

"I love you too daddy....Did we get the work done?"

"Yes baby we did, Thanks to you" he says.

He walks out of the room and goes back to his office to finish his work. He smiles and thinks, "This will be a night I never forget".

Click...click click....click click click.

The End

This is based slightly on a true story of mine....the time was changed,
but My daughter loves my keyboards so much that I have to hide them from her during the day or she will just have them all over the house. :)
I thought it would be fun to write up a story bout it. I hope you enjoyed it.

I really want a GH60.
I started with a TKL mech keyb then went for the Poker II. I loved the size as it saves so much desk space and the portability of it while maintaining it's functionality. Furthermore, it's a product of geekhackers. how cool is that. :)
I wouldn't need a case anyhow, can always use my stock poker case :D
Thank you & good luck everyone!

but My daughter loves my keyboards so much that I have to hide them from her during the day or she will just have them all over the house. :)
I thought it would be fun to write up a story bout it. I hope you enjoyed it.
That is a really nice story i enjoyed reading it ^^

Thanks! I acutually enjoy writing...usually poems though :)

haha that was pretty nifty actually. i like it :)

Wow this is amazingly generous. I would love a GH60 but reading through the posts I think there are others who would appreciate it more so I would like to win the Orangesicle clack. I don't have any clacks and I would really love one, I've been trying to win a draw or a 4grabs but haven't had any luck.

Seriously, the orangesicle is orange and as you know, orange is my second favorite key color behind red.

I would like to enter as well for either the acrylic case or w/o a case GH60s with MX Browns, I don't have anything fun or special for my entree, but as I lurked a lot here and finally became a full member at this wonderful site by finally registering. I quickly grasped the fascination of mechs and realized how small I knew about mechs and how much more there was to learn.
You could say I met my Yoda as a young padawan in BlueBär as he told me a lot about all the different abbreviations there are and what it was all about to get to learn a mech and find out what you might like if you buy your first one. And here I am knowing more than ever and I'm sticking here because it's fun to see all the different setups on different keyboards and where imagination can take you.
Unfortunately my first mech buy is kind of horribel, as I needed to send it back twice already. At first there was this key ping all over the board and kinda loud and on the 1st replacement the spacebar was broken, the packet was tampered with and the key ping was still there. That's my luck dude..
But still I love to have one and keep on hwaiting for that \o/ and as BlueBär made 60% boards really mouth-watering to me, maybe I can get lucky :thumb:

Although I'm also Clack-less, maybe some other Clack-less folks would like to get one as they seem pretty hard or expensive to get!

Cheers,
genki

Gilssant!

I know we havent really talked much , so you may not know me but I joined around august of last year or so. I always wanted a Gh60 ever since I saw they were getting made! Im not sure but Im pretty sure I didnt have the moolah for one when they were first being made or I couldnt locate a case if i did end up getting one and also I didnt really know what I was doing so I didnt wanna get ahead of myself. I would kill to have a GH60. Its so custom and i loove custom stuff. I think its so killer how it was a community project! Thats why i wanted one even back then! It would be my daily driver for sure =]

Anyways, I dont really want a clack or some brobot or anything like that  which would innevitably end up as trade bait at some point. I want an awesome  piece of the community as my daily board!

Its real cool that youre doing not only a giveaway like this, but are willing to build/put work into the things being given away. Hope whoever gets these things deserves 'em the most!

Having withdrawn my entry earlier, I would like to reinstate it, with a claim for the Orangesicle Skull.

My first CC was a MX HO Toast from a 4grabs, and it was surprising how well made it was made.

My second was a Topre 3D Skull which I managed to get at a reasonable price from Classifieds.  As this was my first Skull, I was amazed at the detail and quality in something so small.  And also that despite its size, it was still perfectly functional as a keycap.  My love affair with CC's works, the Skulls in particular, was now cemented.

My third and fourth CCs are still a secret (and I only have received only one of them so far), but neither are Skulls.  I am very grateful to both people who, for various reasons, provided me with them.

Given the silly prices for Clacks on the second-hand market, I am despairing of ever getting another Skull.  I have tried a couple of 4grabs and both EK drawings, but without luck.

If you do feel like bestowing upon me the Orangesicle Skull (it is a Skull, right?), I would be extremely grateful, and exceedingly unlikely to ever part with it.  If it were Topre (the OP doesn't say), it would immediately have a place on my HHKB.  If it happened to be MX, it would have a place on my Happy Board (QWERkeys switch sampler - currently populated with mostly Hapsters).  In either situation I would gaze upon it with rapt fondness on a daily basis

I say this in my capacity as HHKB Hapster :)

Either switch works! Would prefer Red, Brown, or Clears! Wouldn't want to annoy my fellow coders too much!

I posted an entry way back for the GH60 without case, but I would absolutely LOVE an orangesicle CC.  :D

I've never owned a 60% board OR a CC.

The left half of my DIY custom board has a gold Iron Man on it to deal with Escapes thanks to SpamRay, but the right hand needs a worthy cap to handle Deletes. I believe a Skull CC would enjoy the job and be more than up to the task ;) I promise to feed it every day and take it for walks whenever it wants.

Please, Tony feels lonely.

I'd like to say good luck to everyone. Having won a keyboard in the past from Gliss, he's an amazing guy with the biggest heart. An absolute saint and his wife is equally awesome! Both deserve the upmost respect and credit.

I'm not eligible to get one but whoever does, I envy sososo much! I'd love a 60% keyboard and hope to be able to get one in the far far future sometime. I'm sure whoever wins will adore their gift.

As for the CC, it's orange. Not as good as purple in colour but amazing nonetheless!

I have given it thought today and I decided to edit my entry for the last time. I am only entered for the clack right now, I don't really want to look like "that guy" who just entered because the clack was in this drawing. If I am going to be honest I would feel guilty winning either one of the GH60's. When I first entered this giveaway I didn't have any 60% boards and thought it would be cool to win one, but since then I have bought a poker 2 and the day that poker 2 got here I entered a GB for sprits 60% PCB.

I would like to see someone more deserving win the keyboards, possibly someone who doesn't have a 60% board but who really wants one (like me when I first entered this)

Good luck to everybody!

I'd like to enter in the draw for either of the GH60's with random switches. I was thinking you could just grab a bunch of each scatter them around before soldering them where they lie. Worst case, I'll get some experience changing them after.  :D

The reason I would like the GH60 is because of the small form factor. I have gone from a Steelseries 7G, to a Filco TKL, and I feel that a 60% would be a great next step.

Either way, thanks for this great give away.  :thumb:

It appears that the OP has changed since this began, so this may no longer be relevant.  I have updated my post to persuade Glissant (http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=50855.msg1118484#msg1118484) that I am the right home for one of the GH60s.  In my update I have introduced the initial designs for my new case idea.

If the power of persuasion is still in effect for this giveaway, then maybe this will increase my chances.  :P

I will put together an official thread dedicated to the case design I introduced in that thread in order to field specific questions about it.

Cheers and good luck to everyone involved...

I would like the gh 60 or the clack.

My reasoning ; I've nevered owned a GB item or a clack.
I give you my house!

It was soooo awesome. I've yet to edit any of the photos I took earlier this year at the show. That's when I got a newfound respect for dubs. I love the old MK1 and MKII Golfs and GTI's.

Would love to enter for gh60 with blue switches! I unfortunately missed the group buy for this awesome community board.  Thank you so much Glissant for doing this.  Best of luck to everyone!

I think I had a much better chance of winning one of these when the goal was to persuade him with why we should get it.  Alas, now I am just a number...  :)

This is now closed. People that invested time on a post will get one more ticket in the drawing than the ones that didn't. Yes it's probably unfair to someone blablabla. It's my giveaway and I'll cry if I want to ;).

Winners will be announced when I'm not exhausted.

No way! Thank you so much Glissant for doing this! I caught the notification on my phone in the middle of a workout in my basement and dropped the weights to run upstairs as fast as I could. The combination of being out of breath and stuck with a stupid smile on your face is horrible, but oh so worth it. :)

Congrats to all the other winners and once again, thank you so much for doing this Glissant. Nothing but respect for you and all the other kind members that make this community such a delightful place to waste countless hours.
