What color was the Rama 65 that was at the Seattle meetup? I couldn't tell if it was grey or silver.
On second thought, I think I'm wrong. This is the album. Hyperfuse rocking silver, Hack'd w/ Space Gray http://m.imgur.com/Bkggap7?rWhat color was the Rama 65 that was at the Seattle meetup? I couldn't tell if it was grey or silver.
I believe that was Space Gray because that's what Jchan wanted for his prototype.

Whew, in!
Does the Canada shipping price get applied even though the option for the reduced price wasn't there for DHL and usps respectively?
Got any bottom pictures of the alum bottom?
Will the anodization be top-notch with no discoloration / shadows?
So is the sandwich case full dead now?
I submitted the form, but forgot to ask if the board has N-key rollover. I'm hoping it does, is there compatibility for it? (or anything higher than 6 pretty much :))
Out of curiosity, should we have gotten an email confirmation after subtmitting the form or something? I'm starting to doubt whether I entered the proper email address.

Retail for it soon :). I want to make some adjustments to it before we push it.
Thanks for joining everyone. We've decided to fulfill this whole lot in order to get everything out of the way well :).
Our current timeline still stands, and we're looking to push it hard. If anything, it will jump up to an additional +2 weeks. Manufacturing time is our biggest hurdle at this moment, but our manufacturers are well equipped and have shown to be one of the best.
Here's a little story. Shortly after seeing the delay of about 2 weeks on the first M65-A, I grew concerned with working with manufacturer #1. We started a conversation with manufacturer #2, and then they turned the prototype around in about 2 weeks or so, and it only arrived about 2-3 days after Manufacturer #1.
Next thing, we've open sourced the PCB, and the plate should be on there soon.
Please check it out here - https://github.com/Keyclack/M65-A .
BTW, thank you for all the birthday wishes:). It was a great time and I went to my favorite fast food place from my childhood. It's called El Pollo Campero. If you didn't know, my family used to live in Guatemala for a while. I used to have El Pollo Campero as a kid, and it's pretty much what made me love fried chicken. I moved to the USA when I was 4 years old, and on occasion, I go back to El Pollo Campero when I can. It's expensive though! $100 for - 30 pieces + 4 sides + 6 drinks. I still urge you to try it.

Is there a way to change my order? If I put in a second order will my first one be replaced?
Does this kit come with authentic PCB mount stabilizers as well? Just wondering since your other kits in
the past have. ;D

I'll talk to GMK about their turnaround for the stabs. If anything, we'll just throw it in the GB for everyone.
The deskmat is almost done ~ if you need a modification, PM me your email that you used for it. Trying to keep modifications to a minimum however. It looks awesome. I'll be getting a few samples made before we go into full production. Production only takes -> 2 weeks to turn around for the mousepads.

There really wasn't any exclusivity because an unlimited second round was already confirmed to happen a bit after.
I am genuinely beyond gutted that I can't afford one this round.
Here's to hoping we will see a part 2 in the future. What a fantastic looking product this is, can't wait to see people's photos when these start coming in.
Good luck with the GB all!
Is there maybe a possibility that you can use the refunds from 1965 - that in my case didn't happen yet - to directly subtract them from this buy? So there is no PayPal-fee-rip-off?
Just an idea...

4lbs 1.8oz, so around 1.8 kg
Don't know if that's still accurate but it's what I could find

Cool, sounds about right.. I'd bet the brass plate option adds another lb or two... Thanks!
Let me know if there are any questions.
Will we get an idea on the deskmat before the form closes? Kind of don't like buying something without knowing what it looks like.
Thanks for letting me resubmit. I'm definitely in. Just debating on getting a deskmat or not.
Also, yes, we removed the 200 cap in order to avoid R2.
Let me know if there are any questions. I realize a lot of people are signing up, and we may turn to -> keyclack.com to organize this a little better.
Hey folks, just made an account, very new here. I absolutely love the look of this keyboard, it is beyond beautiful—it's gorgeous. I'm looking to buy my first MK, which is why I'm here at Geekhack, but I'm totally new to group buys like this. In short, I need some help.
I've purchased from Mass Drop before, but I've read here that the Geekhack group buys are much better (in terms of quality and options). If I want to buy this keyboard, what do I need to do? I looked at the form, but I'll be honest, I didn't understand a lot of the language used there. "Is your body ready?" seems like a metaphysical question lol.
I am a Mac user, and don't have a PC. Would the M65-A work on Mac? (I want to be able to program my board). Before I buy, do I get to choose my switches? (I couldn't see this mentioned anywhere). What's this business about weight? Are all prices in USD?
Sorry for all the Noob questions folks. I just don't want to make a rash decision based on some pretty pictures (they are extremely pretty).
Cheers!

Hey there, welcome! Will try and answer a few questions.. might not cover them all..
Indeed it is a beautiful keyboard! You can use it on mac, im not sure about the programming part, someone else with more knowledge might be able to help in that respect. Shouldn't be any reason you couldn't use it with a mac though!
The form has some unique questions, which are just JChans coolness showing through his questionnaire. There has been a TON of hype around the board, so he's just checking to make sure we can handle the awesomeness... Good guy Jchan.
As for the group buy experience, there is always a risk of delays, however i have had nothing but good experiences thus far with Jchan/keyclack. He works hard to get things out on time, seems like the manufacturer for this is on-point as well..
Prices are in USD, weight is listed because this is a hefty keyboard. Most higher-end boards use denser materials (brass) to add some weight to the board, this board in particular has a brass weight on the bottom, and option of a heavier, and more rigid brass plate.
For this kit in particular, you will need to supply your own switches and keycaps -I believe you will need stabilizers as well. Although i read something somewhere about GMK stabilizers.. Anyways, hope this helps. The buy was a 'raffle' type of buy, but is now 'open' group buy meaning anyone can submit a form and will get a keyboard.

Thanks for this BAS1C and Jchan! (I have followed the Facebook page).
I'm glad I asked, because I don't think I'm ready to provide my own switches etc. Maybe for my second board I'll consider getting into the building/soldering side of MKs. At this stage I'm just looking to buy a high quality out of the box back lit MK that's fully programable on Mac. (Also wanting to do custom keys in the future too).
I've received a tonne of good advice from /r/Mk, but now I'm even more conscious that I need to make the "right choice"—if such a choice truly does exist—instead of just jumping at attractive options. Was looking at the TADA68, but originative has sold out, and TaoBao is a nightmare to navigate. Now I feel like I'm back to square one.
Anyways, maybe I'll make a post on Geekhack asking for advice. Where would be the appropriate forum for those kind of questions about purchasing and decision making etc? I'm conscious that this probably not the place to be asking these questions.

My highest recommendation is to get Zealios and then asking someone to build it. I'd ask /u/quakemz. He helped build the first M65-A :) You can ask on reddit itself. I think they're great with buying advice if you give them what options you're weighing.

So psyched for this! Now that the 200 cap is lifted, will everyone who wants Hydro Blue get one, or is that color still capped at a specific quantity? If so, will folks who wanted it but don't get it have a chance to put in an order for a non-exclusive color?
For those of you who have used a brass plate - is there any noticeable difference between brass and aluminum?
Anybody know what's going on with the stabilizers? I know they were mentioned a few times during the IC but I'm wondering if I should start sourcing my own. If so, where might one acquire some fine screw-in stabilizers worthy of this magnificent board?

We'll provide them (Cherry ones), if we can't get the GMK ones in time.
When is the form going to close?
Sorry I missed it!Damn. I guess that I'm not joining this then, I wanted to pair with SA Dasher, or Devlin Skidata. :(
Hydro blue is only available for those who got Hydro (at any phase). There is no "cap" on it.

Oh looks like I got my things redirected.

Quick question about the color-matched rubber feet: are they getting matched to the bottom? Or the top? Because for example if I get a rose gold top + space gray bottom, I think pink rubber feet would be a good combination as an accent to match the top.
And for the large bolts: all one color, ones underneath as well? (my current order is for all-pink, so I hope all the bolts will be silver in that case).
Excellent! Thanks so much for the quick reply. In your subjective opinion, since you've seen Space Gray in person I think, would rose gold top + space gray bottom be a poor match? Can't decide if I should stick with all rose gold or go for a different color for the bottom to make it more interesting (I won't really be seeing the bottom much anyway...)Why not both?

I submitted in time for the close date, but you mentioned earlier that it might be extended to Jan 13, and that a polished brass plate might be an added option.
Is there still time to cancel and reorder with a brass plate? (I chose alum in my first order)

Hi everyone,
I just ran through everyones shipping calculations.
If you're on the east coast, looks like it will cost up to $40.00 to ship this.
If you're international, some DHL quotes came out to be $130.00 (like vietnam, and some parts of Australia), but I opted you for USPS Priority International for your package. However, some of you devils have opted for two, so you'll see the charges accordingly.
Otherwise, DHL is less than $78.00 for these packages otherwise (unless you opted for DHL only).
edit
no more changes now. we're going to start invoicing soon.

Now let's hear the color breakdown for the order total ;) For some reason I feel like Champagne will be the least-ordered color. Though could be Hydro Blue, because of the GB restriction. I think Space Gray will be at the top.

If I wasn't such a sucker for exclusivity and matching my incoming Hydro keyset, I would have DEFINITELY chosen Space Gray over Hydro Blue. There's just something about dark grays I can't get enough of!

I think I'm starting to regret not opting in for that mousepad now that I see that second, sweet gray design... Once a design is finalized, will there be an opportunity to add it back on?

Now let's hear the color breakdown for the order total ;) For some reason I feel like Champagne will be the least-ordered color. Though could be Hydro Blue, because of the GB restriction. I think Space Gray will be at the top.
10% silver, 5%Champagne (for the ones you can't see).Show Image(https://i.gyazo.com/7f9b8496eb81084f10c47bf9ceba5c36.png)
Hi everyone,
My friend is working on invoicing.
So far, we are done with about 40 of them, and already a few have paid. Thank you for everything.
We hope to get this train rolling fast.
RAMA and I are working on special packaging for this as I'm also thinking we need a few extra goodies for all the R1 supporters. I'm thinking special stickers for everyone, and some other type of swag ;)

Huzzah swag! Y'all rock.
Patiently awaiting the invoice so I can rip that bandaid off now and sulk later. Think you might be able to tweak mine to add in one of the mousepads though? /u/________________end_ is the username tagged to the two orders. If not, I can wait for extras of course - my own fault for not putting it in there!

Please email me your paypal address -> Jchan@keyclack.com
I've added your mousepad.
Lastly, I just received in the mail: the new PCB that works with split spacebar and all.
The new plates (brass and such) arrive next week, and I'll do a build for it with some funky layout.
I'm thinking ISO Enter with split spacebar and split backspace? Probably pair it with Hydro ;)

Hi,
You'll get an invoice sometime tonight.
If you don't get one, that's probably because of an email input error.
If this happens, please email jchan@keyclack.com

Also, someone pointed out to me that FEDEX is cheaper domestically for USPS shipments at heavier weights.
We'll be switching these more expensive ones to Fedex, which is about $28.00, if that is what we're quoted for your destination address.
If you've been charged $40.00 for USPS (looking at people in the Eastern Region of the USA), we'll revisit your quote.

We'll be ordering a few extras at FCFS.
Also, we're going to start invoicing this evening as I close 1965 refunds.
I think in this case, if I understand these diagrams correctly: https://rama.works/#/m65a/
the plate+PCB will be screwed into the top and suspended over the bottom part of the case.

I have the invoice waiting for me in my inbox, but I can't help but think I made the wrong choices in terms of color.
I probably just missed it in the thread but I thought the $210 price included the PCB. Just wanted to make sure I didn't accidentally select an extra PCB when filling out the form. If it's correct I'll pay the invoice right away!
Because of really high customs & taxation on international orders - will there be a possibility to kind of put a lower value on the parcel? Like 50$ or similar?
Hello Jchan
Are you sending out the invoices right now? when is the dead line to pay invoice?
Thanks

The PCB was not included in the base price of the case, those prices were independent of one another.
$210 w/ Nylon Base
$230 w/ Alu Base
$40 PCB
Great. Now I'm starting to wonder if I had a typo on my email.
My invoice shows the base and an additional base - did I make an error or is this correct? Can't really remember the form anymore :-/
Thanks, sent
Sorted out <3. Looks like someone got too excited about champagne and wanted two champagne base alu sets :)That happens when products like M65-A go viral. :)

Ended up more expensive than I hoped, but I know that it'll end up being worth it.
Thanks for all your work on this Jchan. When it come time for these to ship will we be able to update our addresses? I will be moving before it ships but I don't have my new address yet.

Mid April is our projection.
You can update whenever you move by emailing me your order number, current address, and new address at any time.
Time for sleep... It's 5am.

It starts out affordable, but as you add extras, it can get pricey. Extra base, brass plate, mousepad.
I did my best with shipping. Pulled all the live quotes manually for every order and charged the most affordable one unless someone noted they wanted DHL. This was done manually for everyone based on their specific weight and order. It was definitely a pain.
Cheers and thanks for joining!
Hex screws like these (http://image.made-in-china.com/2f0j00GMTEPhSIHwqk/Hex-Cap-Socket-Screw.jpg) will look baller I think. Might just do black ones to go with the Hydro.
Hey for anyone else who selected all of the "standard' lower priced options, what did your kit total out to?
I got a paypal invoice for $276 when I selected only the stuff for the $210 options and $25 CONUS shipping so with paypal fees I guess ~$240 right?

What photoelectric said is accurate.Houston Texas here and with standard nylon plus pcb plus mouse pad it was 30 shipping. Didn't seem too bad to me. Thanks Jchan
As I've said, the shipping is the lowest we can get it for manually calculated for everyone's specific order weight, and destination.
If you are in cali, you got way cheaper shipping, at 15 usd from usps, but then you were subjected to sales tax (state law thing).
While in other places like Utah or Arizona, you got shipping at 15 usd and no sales tax. It's all processed and we spent a good chunk of the time in the process.
Ill be checking emails soon regarding any changes and they'll happen later tonight (it's like 2pm pst).

$210 and $230 are prices of the case kit with aluminum plate. +$40 for PCB, $35 to change aluminum plate to brass, as per the OP.

Yea I kinda did the same double-take because for some reason I was also thinking the PCB was part of the "kit" price. Se la vie at this point and I see where I missed that detail. Still stoked for this awesome keyboard!! However, much as I want to jump in and pay my invoice right away I am inclined to wait for my 1965 refund to process or the 17th deadline.
I've agonized over it, and just decided to pay the invoice. Blue top and bottom is incoming. If it doesn't work out, maybe someone would be willing to trade bottom pieces.

Just wanted to put in a shout out to jchan!! Even with a ton going on with this M65 GB happening, Hydro shipping, SA1965 wrapping up etc, etc, etc he has still been super responsive with communication and that is what really matters to keep people happy! Thanks again jchan for taking on some great stuff that supports this community!!Yesssss big shout out to him!!
What is the size and type of the side screws?
I plan to source different colored ones if there are any somewhere.
Glad everyone is hyped. It's been a long week.
Hope to get everyone processed soon. I'm already talking to the manufacturer about bulk production and working internal logistics. So far, working off of the Google doc has been way better to organize this buy, but we'll build for the future in our next crazy purchase.
If you think about it, there were an insane number of skus possible.
6 top colors, 7 base choices, 2 plate material choices, optional 6 base addons, and optional Mousepads.
Get hyped. Working hard towards our mid April delivery. Will keep everyone updated as we work towards that.
Just an FYI, I will be moving offices during this time, so there may be a slight delay with all of this. Such is life, as we move onto bigger and better things.
Thanks for supporting the M65, and this collaboration between Rama and I. We've been working at this since September and it's been a long time coming.
Time to go to sleep now... It's 2am and I slept at 5am last night. Have a good day wherever you are in the world ;)

Has anyone considered stainless steel as an alternative for the plate?
Would it be better or worse than aluminium?

So this is my first board I'm building from the ground up like this, never worked before with ps2avrGB. Luckily, I found a nice guide (http://imgur.com/a/hzd7r) by quakemz through a jchan94 post. I just wanted to put my thoughts out and see if I'm missing anything.
So if this is pretty much the board I'm getting, the only purchases I NEED are...The RGB underglow is already a soldered part of the board and the top side supports LEDs for the switches, but just simple, single-colored, 2-pin LEDs. Some OPTIONAL expenses are:
- ~70 Switches (Possibly going with Mod-M switches)
- Keycaps (GMK Hydro already coming. )
- USB Cable (custom Hydro cable also incoming)
Am I missing anything else? I've got all my tried and true soldering equipment and basic tools already at hand so I guess the only thing left to find is some dedicated time to make all this happen in April! And if anyone has recommendations for those LEDs and SIP sockets and where to buy them, I'm all ears.
- LEDs (2-pin single-colored ones, 1.8mm size preferred)
- SIP sockets (easier LED swapping)

Nice guide, I hadn't seen that before. Everything looks about right to me, but get a few extra switches just in case. I will also note that 2x3x4 square LEDs are often used in mechanical keyboards, but I have some clearance issues with those under GMK keycaps (R2 zealio switches). Since you mentioned hydro it might be safest to go for 1.8mm.
Have fun with your first build!

Yeah, that guide is fantastic! And in a numpad I built a few months ago, I didn't use SIP sockets and instead just put the 2x3x4 square LEDs inside the switch and it was a perfect fit. I understand though, the only reason I put them in there in the first place was a clearance issue. 1.8mm with SIP sockets it is then, thanks for your input! :thumb:

or possibly gmk screw in:eek:
Hey, sorry if it was already mentioned (I think it was on the form, but I can't access it anymore), does anyone know the size of the mousepad? Measuring my desk right now, hoping it'll fit haha.
Thanks for everyones amazing patience with this.
We're estimated to get the new Brass switchplate samples sometime next week. They are already made (cutout and what not), and just need to be polished/brushed.
I'll take a few photos of them when they arrive and then i'll stress test them by putting them outside my office for a day or two (it's been raining in LA recently).
I'm sure the humidity and such will cause some reaction. In any case, we'll go with the better of the two options.
edit:
And I got a few questions about this already but we'll also have a few extra plates (in brass and multiple colors) available after everyones shipment has gone out.
This way, you can get extra plates + PCBs and change the layout very easily.
I'll be having the brass plate + PCB made by quakemz again. The layout we're going with is: ISO, Split backspace, and Split Spacebar. More TBD !

About the brass plates and PCBs, does this mean there will be two versions of the plate and PCB? (one set which supports ISO, split backspace/spacebar and one set which doesn't)
I know the standard PCB by winkeyless is part of all orders, and it seems like they don't support split spacebar. But please correct me if I'm wrong.
Those polished brass plates look godly. Are those the one's we're getting? (the people who ordered brass)
Welp now I wish I ordered a brass plate...
Any more room on that brass plate Regret Express train? Man, mark me up as another one with regrets for not opting for one, I'd definitely get one now if I could after seeing it!
:(
Dang, thought you said the brass plate was too thin to be polished... :(
Don't worry, there won't be any "give". When you combine a pcb with metal plate all bolted to a solid aluminum top like this, it will be a very solid keyboard with no noticeable flex. My LZ-GH is like that and is very very solid.
How about those who signed up for the brass plate express?
Choo Choo!
Can you share how many orders were successfully processed atm? I'd say twice the limited number at the start ;)

Currently we're at 340/480 :P. Looks like many will miss out
Hi everyone,
If you haven't paid your invoice, it will be cancelled tomorrow (January 20th, 6PM PST). I've sent reminders via Paypal already, but looks like many are opting out :P.
Oh well ~ :).
edit1:
Also! I'll have the BRASS plate at the FREMONT meetup! QuakeMZ will take it off my hands and will help me build it with MX whites and such. So hype.

It's official: I've just made the greatest mistake of my life by not staying up to date with GBs. How have I missed this? While some of you appear to be on a Brass Plate Regret Train, I'm solo riding the Rama M65-A Regret Train :'-(
need also the Brass plate... please open the chance to buy it RAMA!
I will be happy with the upcoming Fjell that will stay with my until my dying breath

What is the Fjell? Link please :)
What would you varnish it with? I had a thought about spray-painting it clear, but not sure if it will ruin the appearance. Cleaning around all the switches will not be an easy task if you use a cleaning solution that requires rubbing it into the brass--don't want to get any into the switches.
Extra plating ;D
Oh sweet. I'll take my silver case coated in platinum too :p
Extra plating ;D

Who should I message to tweak my order before payment? Jchan I'm guessing?
I mean if anyone REALLY needs it I could transfer my order (champagne top and bottom, brass plate, total of $380) because for me it's more or less just a fun build and I don't really want to flip it later for an insane amount of money to desparate people. I will be happy with the upcoming Fjell that will stay with my until my dying breathBlasphemy, bro!

Yupp! Jchan@keyclack.com please :). Btw! I recently got a toxic set. I think it'll go well with a matte black m65!

So any jet matte black users? what keycap sets are you getting?Dcs toxic or troubled minds are the two im thinking. Kind of depends on how each profile looks on the board.
I like the fonts on the Mito canvas XDA, but the colour doesnt really fit :/
Very excited for my order. Went with the space grey and nylon base + brass plate + extra matte black base. Currently plan on throwing my SA Carbon with orange alphas on it but if the greys clash to much I also have SA penumbra and hyperfuse incoming and will figure out a good mix and match. Also already have a pack of mod-m's waiting for this. Going to be my first build so i really can't wait to start thisI think carbon will look just fine. I have a feeling cherry profile is gonna look better on this board.
Idk if I've ever been so excited for a keyboard.I hear ya. Just gotta forget about if for a couple months.
Was that space gray with brass plate behind it?

Oh man that's nice looking. The flash makes it look silver. My case is silver. Perhaps I should get wet.
Was hesitant about uploading this, not that great of a pic, but its something

I've been looking for something white with gold legends. Is that not a thing? Saw something along the lines yesterday on mechmarket, but it was orange.
Looks like we're pushing forward soon. thanks for your patience.

This keyboard is a lot more unique (at this time anyway). Also doesn't break the bank as much! But to really answer your question, only you would know the answer. Ask yourself what you'll be happier with on your desk in the long term, if you can't afford both.
Get both, bruh.

To me it's more so a budget I cap myself to. Every year is a 3 board maximum, last year was a 27TKL, Zeal60 and Novatouch, this year so far I was planning on a 980c, M65-A and possibly something else down the line, but I'm more comfortable with TKLs. Just a FOMO most likely.
Either way if the LZ is amazing enough, it may make me break my 3 board yearly cap! I thought about it some more and am probably going to keep my M65, can't say no to Hydro Blue...
Sorry Jchan didn't mean to go off topic!
Breaking your 3 board yearly cap and it's only January lol. Have they given a price on the lz? I need a tkl since I got rambae (65) and a tx75 (75) this year. Eventually I'll get a nice tkl and be set for a while.Such a dilemma...keep my order or transfer and go into LZ TKL...

Edit: found the price
Lz TKL is up for $447. Very expensive. E8-v1 TKL is perhaps a better choice at $310 with more color options and a more interesting layout.Gotta say, I'm very happy with my choice to go with the Ramabae. Anodizing on this board looks choice, none of the other customs have brass plates available, and it's got the powerhouse of jchan + Rama behind it for production value and logistics. Add on to that the price and it's a seriously great looking board. Can't wait to see it in person.
This may have been asked before, if so apologies, but are these two cases different sizes or is it just the offset being exaggerated in the photo?Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/9D8iWwZ.jpg)

If I want the underglow do I need to buy led lights? Or does it come with them?
Not sure if it was asked, but is this pcb hotswappble? I.e. Compatible with hotlite sockets?
Not sure if it was asked, but is this pcb hotswappble? I.e. Compatible with hotlite sockets?
The PCB isn't hotswappable as-is, but it looks like holtite sockets might work as long as they don't fall through the holes [seems to be a problem for some PCBs]. I bet nobody has tried it yet so we can't know for sure.

R2 someday. We'll have extras. Extras can't be reserved :-[
I just searched every page for the physical dimensions of the board, and can't find any references. Anyone know the WxHxD?He uploaded the STL file for it:

Cool. Anyone got the HSL (or Hex, RGB, etc) for the different colors? Used the eyedropper on ps for something close enough, but wouldn't mind an exact. Useful for keyset testing (as someone who is still deciding on which keyset to get).
Hi everyone,
Our order will be placed soon. Our order is pretty much finalized. We will have extras so please do not fall prey to the aftermarket.
Do we have any further info on the PCB as of yet? Looking to get ahold of some hotlites to replace switches in the future.
Do we know if all of the pcb holes are standard size or are they going to get funky on the bottom row?
Everyone back on the steel plate regret train chooooo chooooooooo
Seriously though that's amazing. Does that mean they'll resist corrosion?
That's last second change order is looking nice now. :thumb:Do we have any further info on the PCB as of yet? Looking to get ahold of some hotlites to replace switches in the future.
Do we know if all of the pcb holes are standard size or are they going to get funky on the bottom row?
They can use different ones that aren't available on digikey. I'll get some.
Also some good news:
1. I'm placing the order with GMK for the screw in stabs. Stabs for all!
2. The Brass Plate is now PVD plated (same as the brass weight), and has some real gold in it
Great news!
Now regarding the GMK (http://i.imgur.com/YWmUvT1.jpg) stabilizers, have they been used or sold recently? I've mostly seen them in ICs or old GBs or being referenced in discussions, but I don't remember reading a proper feedback about them. Like would anything else than the materials change compared to Zeal's stabs who are also the screw in kind?

Please do, I'm halfway across the world, so I don't want to make the mistake of picking up the wrong size

Do you know if the holes are larger diameter (like Duck Lightsaver V1 PCB I had, I think), so the hotlite pieces need to be larger?

Hi everyone,
I've updated post #2, and will be logging updates there (when I remember).
But here's the summary of what has happened so far:
1. GMK Screw in stabs for all.
2. Brass Plate (not weight) is now PVD coated with hints of real gold in it.
3. Payment has been made to manufacturer.
4. Deskmat is going through a few variations and will be done soon! :)
edit:
5. Custom boxes have been designed specifically for this. They look dope AF.

A "WORK IN PROGRESS" for the Deskmat. It's looking amazing. I can't wait to see the final version. It really reminds me of those Ikea manuals that you have to look through while constructing furniture. Now, I have this strong appreciation now for those designers since I know how many hours its taken to get to this point.

The design looks great! Just hope the final color of the background isn't white.
The typical Blue background with white colors wouldn't be bad, however, something cool like grey with different color images (purple, black, red) would be cool.I like the way you think and I love colorful things!

So what is everyone's plans for their setup? Switches? Caps?
I got silver/nylon base. Building green gatestotles, and tossing on XDA milestone while I hold out for gmk nautilus. Bought milestone for a 60% board that I sold so this should work well and look pretty nice.

Probably going to look to transfer/refund my order, jchan's email queue is probably enormous so I'm going to help expedite this a bit! Tried my best to enjoy 68key layout, but after trying a TADA68, I just can't get used to the arrow location being so close.
Includes:
Hydro Blue

Brass Plate
PCB
Total of $314.
Not sure if I can transfer a hydro blue one though. I hope so though!

M65-A in rose gold, 67g Gatestotles and 67g Linear Zealios for the "hold down" mod keys (control, alt, shift, fn, etc) and GMK 9009 (with pink accent keys). Alright! Just spoke with jchan about it and I'm going to just transfer entire order. Most PMs I received were about splitting everything up, and I'd rather not do that. So I'd like to just transfer my entire order, which consisted of:Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/2O2fpdB.png)
Brass plate was 38 extra, so add onto the 276 + 38 = $314!
Don't think I'm allowed to part it out though.

I just sent an email to the participants.
Basically, if you want to upgrade to a QMK based PCB, we have it ready! :D

For the noobs among us, what are ps2avrgb, QMK, and atmega32u4? I'm not really sure what I would be upgrading to.

Benefits:
ps2avrgb uses a GUI to do everything. It's more difficult to make macros and such.
QMK is more complex and allows for special functions to be programmed, and is way more flexible (granted, YMMV based on your own knowledge, and google skills, etc).
ALSO, it uses MINI-B. We also have a Type-C one that is still in development, but ya know... things take time :D
[...]
The invoice number you were asking for was something like M65-A-(number), right?
I recommend before upgrading take a close look at the BootMapperClient and consider of there's anything you want that can't be done in there. It's such a neat mapping & programming GUI ... QMK isn't better because it is more expensive of has more potential. You'll have a much harder time performing the same things you can do with the ps2avrgb board, it's really only worth it if you actually use the additional potential.
I tried playing with QMK for my Planck but still can't figure it out. I'll look into it deeper sometime in the future but for now I'm going to stick with the Winkeyless firmware for this board.I recommend before upgrading take a close look at the BootMapperClient and consider of there's anything you want that can't be done in there. It's also worth it if you had problems with input delay with ps2avrGB in the past and care about that, but never had any problems with TMK or QMK like it's the case for me.
I totally agree with the statement that BootMapperClient has a nice GUI that works well and that it will do 90% of the stuff QMK does keymapping wise, the lack of visualisation of the keymap in QMK is pretty unintuitive.
I took it because I already have ps2 based boards with input lag and I want something different to tinker with.
I have never built my own board and am pretty knew to this. Could you elaborate on the "input lag" ? Are you talking while mapping the layout of the pcb or do you mean actual lag from key click (say typing the word "there") to having it produce those letters on your screen?

I upgraded because 18 bucks... But I honestly have no idea what this means. And that's after reading the above posts. From what I gather the upgrade can be cool if you are good at firmware and stuff. The original has a user friendly Gui and is more noobtato friendly

Email was sent 5:31am my time, and I submitted my form 3hours later. I filled out my form three hours later, so I hope I got in the upgrade. Instead of an upgrade, I kind of want one Ps2 pcb, and one qmk pcb. This would be ideal!

Personally gonna wait for the Type C + QMK revision, but this is an awesome upgrade option!Type C? What's that?
Speaking of Type C, will the M-65's case be able to accommodate the larger type-C port? Looks like there's not a whole lot of wiggle room right now even for the Mini USB port. I'm hoping I won't need to buy an updated case just to move to USB type-C.
Thanks!

USB C is a bad idea for a keyboard I think. No cable compatibility and no reason for it.

Hold up, if QMK has been ported to ps2avrgb boards, isn't this an $18 "upgrade" to limit yourself to QMK only? The standard, cheaper PCB would have the option to use bootmapperclient or QMK. What am I missing?

Also what thought. Can someone help explain the differences between the two pcbs ?

The ps2avrGB PCBs are reliant on V-USB for their USB compatibility since the atmega 32a does not support native USB.
The QMK PCB here uses an atmega32u4 which does have native USB compatibility.
I had a ps2avrGB based board with a 32a in the past and it had more input delay than my TMK/QMK/o2d ones which all use either a 32u2 or a 32u4. It is not very noticeable for normal use and not even for most of gaming use, all your mainstream games (LoL, DotA, CSGO, Overwatch, Battlefield, etc.) will work fine, it's just that there cases where this affects you a lot like in rhythm games or high-level tetris or stuff like that.
In my experience ps2avrGB with a 32a had more input delay than Leeku's L3 firmware with a 32a, which had more input delay than all the 32u2/32u4 implementations I tried. I cannot predict how efficient the code that implements V-USB into QMK is, but I still believe that even the best V-USB implementation is slower than the native USB of the 32u2/32u4. But up until now all my testing was done with just "feeling it" and the hit-error bar in osu! , so nothing really concrete yet. I also did some other test where I hit a key which played a sound which was recorded with a microphone and I the went through the recordings and wrote down the delay(to compare the difference between boards, not to measure the base delay of each board, that wouldn't work that way), but other than confirming my speculations it didn't do too much as there was still too much variance in the single measurements to get a exact number in ms, I took averages of 10 though.
Oh also I don't think that V-USB supports N-Key rollover, iirc it is not able to use USB fullspeed which is necessary for N-Key rollover.
Do you know what color solder mask is used for each of the two offered PCB types?

This is all correct. I wanted to explain it, but I felt like it would have been difficult to understand if I wrote it out.
But thanks for this! :D
Very good explanation <3 thanks bro
When will we know if we got the upgraded PCB?
Ok so its only a upgrade? not a extra PCB? i was looking to fast.. the ps2avrgb is just easier to program right? cuz it uses bootmapper, wanted to try both

For the extra PCBs, we'll have them in a separate sale along with an optional layered case. It's kind of complex mixing them together imo from a logistical stand point.
Bootmapper is definitely really easy to use. QMK is a lot more difficult :P.

I know this is late to the party but for the normal pcb, it uses a micro usb port correct?

yeah i put in for the QMK upgrade as well. Not that it matters that much to me but i'd like to have the option one day if I so choose.

I could easily mock it up, but it won't ever happen. When has there EVER been a custom font run? I suppose you could do dye sub, but that limits colors a lot.
I realize that I really want a Nintendo Switch, and with no need for a 68% (Damn impulse buys!), I'm giving my spot away.

You'd have to dyesub or laser etch. No one is gonna go double shot custom font.Unless you have a **** ton of money for the molds.

Is it too late to add a brass plate to my order? <_<
Those are gorgeous.
Yupp. We'll have some extras and such after. We only have about 20 brass plates or so for spares, that won't go into pre-assigned "buy it as is" full units.
Kinda bummed I missed this buy, was hard choice between this and Mira but given there will be extras I got money aside so hope to grab one then
Seems to be the way this hobby goes.Kinda bummed I missed this buy, was hard choice between this and Mira but given there will be extras I got money aside so hope to grab one then
it was a very hard choice between this and mira. So i bought them both.
Willing to split up the set and add the mousepad to my order?
That makes sense. I'll keep an eye out for extras then.
Did the QMK invoices go out? Worried that I didn't make the cut or filled out the form incorrectly somehow :'(
Any idea on which direction the switches will face on the PCB? I ask because I just discovered today that GMK caps do not work on R3 switches where the led faces north (upside down switch placement). Well, they work, but have a muted bottoming out since the keycap collides with the switch housing. Yes, this is a thing. Yes I believe thousands of GMK users have overlooked it. Please for the love of god point the switches correctly. Pretty sure a large chunk of us will be putting GMK sets on here.

Also, you want 1.8mm LEDS.

Hi jchan, any news about the qmk pcb? haven't got any news about those.

Will 2x3x4 LEDs still work for DSA or SA but not GMK?
Hi jchan, any news about the qmk pcb? haven't got any news about those.I just received and payed my invoice for the qmk :)

Yes this absolutely is a thing. Many people are nescient and no one seems to ever talk about it. So many people putting gmk or similar low profile sets on upside down switches.
Gladly it seems that all, if not most quality pcbs for custom builds are designed for correct switch orientation.
Also with LEDs. Even with south positioned LEDs for me personally GMK caps still bottom out on the LED.
I've tried 2x3x4, even 1.8 LEDs I got from Winkeyless still bottom out on the keycap. The only thing that works for me is clear switchtops with 2x3x4 leds mounted underneath the switchtop.
However I think this may not work with holtite sockets.
If someone wants the QMK and didn't get an invoice, Jchan you can cancel mine and give it to them.

Ok but I need to know if 2x3x4 will work for SA and DSA caps on this PCB or else I need to buy some 1.8s since I've already bought the 2x3x4s.

I obviously don't have this PCB, but I don't see why it would differ from any other. I have placed 2x3x4 leds in similar boards without issue. I remember a few that I had to rework because they weren't pushed all the way in before I soldered them, but as long as they are flush there should be no issue with DSA or SA keycaps.
However, since you have time before the board arrives, you might as well get some 1.8mm LEDs. They loolk nice, seem to be slightly brighter, and will be better compatible if you decide to put cherry profile caps on it down the road.
You can get them from eBay for cheap or even zeal has some for a decent price, if you want them quicker.

As I missed to join GB, I am looking for someone who is looking for order transferring to me, so I can get it and done.
My preference of this board would be;
- M65-A aka Ramabae65 $230 w/ Aluminum Base (Champagne, Rose Gold or Space Grey)
- PCB $40.00
I have plate-mounted keyswitches, and hope the above components works well with my keyswitches.
Please email me at tonykwon79@gmail.com

There is this one:
- Space Grey top
- Space Grey Bottom
- Brass Plate
- Additional Silver bottom
- 1 Mousepad
- PCB
$415 pre shipping.
I can take out the additional silver bottom, or I can take out the space gray bottom. It'd be $85.00 less.

In other news:
the mousepad sample came in, and it looks amazing. We're going with a new manufacturer who has a slightly better quality print quality, and the rubber is slightly MORE GRIPPY than the previous mousepad run we had.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/bGP7Nkg.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/vYIyiq3.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/25at3Wn.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/J7ewLkt.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/Do2ZGCF.jpg)Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/HQcTOtF.jpg)

Yeah, I prefer my mouse pads dark because I'm a sinner who eats on my desk. You will go to hell for eating at your desk! Lol seriously though I had to break that habit a few years ago and everything is much cleaner now.
Otherwise looks nice.

We'll have the extras available after the GB ships.
New update:
GMK Screw in stabs just arrived for everyone's kits. You'll have a choice of 6.25U or 7U when it comes the time to be finalized for shipment.

Hey jchan, just wondering but how will we be contacted to pick the stabs?
How much would the nylon base cost? Just wondering as I guess I have the aluminium bottom one now.

Probably around $65 + shipping considering the Nylon set is $20 cheaper than the Aluminium set and the Aluminium base is $85 itself.

Sounds great, thanks!Looking into getting switches, and I'm wondering if I should get PCB mount or plate mount? Thanks! :)
Both should be supported. PCB mount is always preferable, but either work.

Most people prefer plate mounted keyboards. The M65-A is a plate mounted keyboard. Having PCB mounted switches is only going to make it more difficult to put together with literally no added benefit. I would have to disagree with the statement above and say that plate mounted switches are most often preferable. The only reason to buy PCB mounted switches is if you know you're using them on a PCB mounted KB or if you have no idea what you'll be using the switches for—because you can painfully trim all the PCB mounts off later.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I've always understood it.

The reason to buy PCB mount switches is that you can use them as is on most plate mounted setups, or simply snip off the PCB mount legs. With plate mount switches you're tied to plate mount only. I also find PCB mount better when handwiring boards as I can use the PCB mounts to hold diodes in place  Pretty much no reason to limit yourself by buying plate mount only switches IMO.
Back on topic; can't wait for this board. QMK invoice paid. My body is ready!

that's correct. I've noted in multiple places that the aluminum does not support underglow.

Awesome - just ordered 70 of the R5 zealios and a bunch of silencing clips. This is going to be my first custom build so I'm stoked!

The cons with mod switches outweighed the pros for me. They are nice and tactile, but more wobble than any other tactile (now that zeal fixed zealio wobble pretty well), and not as smooth as zealio. Zeals are not quite as tactile but feel nicer overall to me.Sounds about like what I've been hearing from people lately too. I've only really used topres and Razer switches before so I can't wait to try the Zealios R5!

I'm glad to see so many people hyped so much about this :).
We've made some good progress so far since my last "update". Currently, we're working out the custom foam design, and the boxes for it. The mousepads have been paid for a while ago, and now, we're waiting for it all to come in.
Rama just finalized the weight design, and we'll be seeing it very soon ;).
Lastly, I will note that I will be moving offices very soon (in April). We're estimated to get this around the same time that I will be moving, so things will be hectic, and on top of that, I have to inspect all of the parts, etc etc.
Just wanted to give you all the heads up, and things are still moving for this buy, and the train won't stop ;).

Ah, thanks for the explanation. I guess with a sandwich case the keys are 'floating' of sorts then.
Does anyone have a time machine so that I can travel a few weeks into the future and build my M65-A? The hype I feel is almost too much to handle at this point.
I suppose a genie in a lamp would suffice if no one has a time machine.

Just finished burying our dog :'(.
She was misdiagnosed and ended up having adrenal gland cancer which spread out to the kidneys, heart, liver and a part of the nose.
If they realized that the first time we brought her to the vet for a check up because she wasn't feeling well they could have cured her pretty easily. But it's easy to put someone else at fault. I guess...
Ah well, she had an awesome life for almost 12 years, so that's something.

Hi everyone,No worries dude mechmarket it is for the trades!
I've been getting a lot of emails about transferring spots, and picking up partial orders, and getting a small extra, or changing something out.
Unfortunately at this time, since we're about to lock things down, I won't be accepting these requests (except for 1:1 order transfers). I've organized this buy in way to lower logistics by packing everything into boxes before they're shipped to me.
I hope you understand my position, as I'm currently in the middle of an office move and a bunch of other things. So sorry to turn everyone down, but with over 400 people in this group buy, I have to stay organized and we're almost at the end.
After the buy is completed he stated there will be extras based on a first come first serve basis.
First time getting LEDs for a build. You won't need resistors as the board will come with them already installed ready to go dude.
These are the times i regret not paying as much attention in physics-class as i should have.
I'm guessing I have to get resistors to match my LEDs?
If that is the case, what do I have to look out for?
I am guessing I would need 100 ohm resistors (as afaik USB provides 5V), judging from the table provided on lighthouseleds.com's 1.8mm LED product page.
Is this correct?
Thanks in advance!

Would be good to get clarification on that, sounds unusual to have resistors provided since they are LED-specific. Diodes, yes, but resistors I think are usually user's-choice.

It depends on the forward voltage and current of the LED. Should be listed on the product page. You can plug those into any of the numerous LED calculators out on the web with your correctly-guessed 5V USB supplied voltage to get an idea of the resistor you'll want.

they say that 820 ohm resistors work with all colors on 60% style PCBs.

I just want to say... thank you for trusting me with this buy. I'm very hyped for everyone to get it. In the past few weeks, I've been working on a custom box design to make sure these are transported safely from the manufacturing -> me -> to you. I hope you're all excited for it.
Here is a teaser of what you'll get in the mail when it all comes. The exterior of the box will be custom printed as well :). I hope that this box is one of those that you keep in your garage for years to come, and one day in a few years, you magically find it and think back to this moment that you helped make this keyboard happen.Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/BQSB1lY.png)

I was told no.

Neither board is compatible as far as I know.
Oh, that's sad!
Time to practice my soldering skill then...
I'm a novice solderer, if you're anything like me it's gonna be really tough to solder holtites in. I would avoid trying to do that. I tried with a GH60 it did not end well. You could get a used gh60 or other board to practice on... but yeah soldering holtites is... messy. If you do go ahead try to find the thinnest solder and the thinnest pointiest iron tip you can find, that would probably help. You'll also need those "third hand" type clamps to keep the pcb elevated while you have both hands free and keep it level because you don't want to solder them in crooked. Lastly if you are using holtites and want to lube your switches make sure you don't use any thin lube (some people use on springs etc), as this can seep into the leaf and down into the holtites causing switch chatter. Just some random mistakes I made that you can learn from haha.
Edit: damn autocorrect
Are the PCBs made by the same place that makes them for Winkeyless.kr?
He recently released a set of holtites that are designed to work with his PCBs, maybe they would work with the M65 too?

Hmm... given that soldering is a must, is it possible to use a different PCB with the kit? Otherwise, is it possible to pick up more PCB's for the kit after the gb has shipped? It would suck to spoil the pcb ...

.38mm would also be wrong, you need more than twice that to fit a Cherry MX switch pin.

Yeah, both numbers are weird. I don't have my autocad laptop with me right now as I'm outside, but I'll take a look next week on that to see if the dimensions are that. I also have an order of holtites coming in so hopefully this works with the final product :)
What kind of support will we get for the QMK PCB? Will it come flashed with a default layout? Will the QMK repository be updated with matrix, keymaps, config, etc for the M65-A? If so, when?
Thanks!

My guesses:
Assuming that Jack accepts the pull request, the QMK support would likely be done before the PCBs ship. Worst case you'd have to grab a fork of QMK.
Yes. It's almost unheard of for PCBs to go out without a default layout pre-flashed :thumb:
Is the original timeline still accurate by the way? If not, what's the latest?

No, as per the discussion a few pages ago. I've also asked jchan directly via discord. No holtites unfortunately. *looks at pack of holtites*

Does that apply to both the standard JC65 PCB by winkeyless as well as the QMK version?
They were designed and manufactured separate from one another, and QMK seems to be pretty new. Does anyone have the QMK PCB specs yet?
Figuring something out atm, and am wondering what kind of aluminum does the M65-A use?
Made with RAMA from RAMA.WORKS, the M65-A is fully reprogrammable, has underglow, allows for backlit LEDs, and features an ALU6061 rigid body frame design.
I just got the production box and the foam is so nice! These will be packed very nicely.

Probably will take photos of it tomorrow. Gotta take my m65-a apart to make it look good.
The box uses a lot of foam, and custom cut outs for each part. These will be packed like this from the manufacturer -> to me -> to you.
When I get the shipment, I'll open each box and check the contents to make sure the order is yours, and QC/QA them. Then if its good, pack it into a box and get it out to you :).
Dear jchan, I am now with 4 emails unanswered for the qmk. I am still waiting for an updated invoice to pay the 18 usd. Can you please check ? Thank you !

This should be about right. Please remember I'm moving offices end of April so they might be chilling for a little while!
I hear things are a tad behind, due to the recent holiday in China. The delay should only be up to 4 days. But other than that, I think we should get this tracked to me in about 2 weeks.

Get with the program, man! Jk, I got switches a month or two back, but I'm going to be waiting on keycaps for quite a while. I'm in the SA 1965 GB, but I'll be missing a 1.75u right shift since I based my order around a full sized board at the time. I really wanted to put GMK Nautilus on this, but that GB hasn't even started yet :(

Gateron greens, nice! what color LEDs?
:D waiting for photos of the packaging!
Is there any recommendations as to which LED's I should get for the underglow and switches? This would be my first build with LED's.Underglow will have smd rgbs already installed. For in switch leds I say get 1.8mm leds. Just pick your color and go with the water clear brightness as the diffused ones I have gotten in the past are pretty terrible

In other news, I have heard some updates from the manufacturer. We are currently waiting to polish, and PVD the plates. The top piece is in production still.

Hi everyone,
As we close in on the finish line, I want to thank everyone that has participated in this buy.
In order to help me keep things organized nice and tidy, if you are seeking a transfer, I will simply refund you, and have it available for extras.
Thanks for your understanding, as swapping orders is quite troublesome this late into the group buy.
We're almost there! :D

Are you planning to let go of your order? If you have a Space Grey or Hydro-colored M65-A, I could use an arrangement. :) Cheers~
Gotcha. ^_^ Glad you're doing it for somebody you know, and at cost. :D

It's all good. Just mostly disheartened at how quickly it was snatched up, since it was mentioned there will be extras at the end, but it seems unlikely I will have access to them.
Just meant low chance of being on at the right time and high chance of them being snatched up right away. But I'll do my best :D it's an awesome board.

Hi Everyone,
Running through XDA atm, so haven't really paid attention to this thread.
But to clarify a few things:
1. I'll honor the transfer. Just give me a moment as I'm tied up in things currently.
2. There should be a good chunk of extras, with pre-made SKUs (i.e. You'll get it as is).
3. The extras will have a markup value as a package, as these will be immediate units that can go out.
Hope that clarifies everything. Cheers.
And lastly, mousepads should arrive this week, as I just arranged transport for customs.

Whenever I think of the gold of the m65a, I always consider 1965 or plum.
I'd probably go towards plum since sa is mucho difficult to type on.

Yeah, I was saying rose gold (or pink, if you will.)
If I had a rose gold M65, GMK Plum would absolutely be a must have set. I just don't have an interest in either.
On the champagne M65 that I'm getting, I'll be using Amazing Chocolatier—and it'll look like this;

Hi Jchan,
Can you confirm if the Keyclack DIY USB cables work for this keyboard? The opening for the micro USB in the case looks like it could be tight with the DIY micro USB connector.
Cheers
Hi Jchan,Alternate USB connectors are plentiful, I'd recommend trying it before you assemble the cable and then getting a different connector if it doesn't fit.

When do you think you'll have extras available? I'd really love to get a brass plate (and possibly even aluminum case) but since the orders have been finalized I'd like to pick one up after the fact if possible. The packaging looks amazing, by the way.
Is there a chance of extra acrylic bottoms being made available for purchase later? Sadly, too late I now really want one along with the grey bottom. Anyone have an extra acrylic they no longer want?

Also,
Please note that any new transfers will be sent to the "extras" lot, and not transferred.
We're way to close to the end, and doing transfers is a little time tedious at the moment.
Thanks!

Well I'm not sure on the process your end exactly, but fire me over Paypal invoice and I can pay immediately, no tedium at all. Is it that much of a problem?
When you have 400 orders, and a bunch of people trying to transfer, ask for extras, and ask an update on xda, and other things, you can see how I'm on a time crunch.
Just trying to save time, and get it to the people who are sticking it out for the buy, and have been supporting this keyboard since the beginning
edit: also trying to move offices by Friday to 30+ miles away.

Thanks.

Will people in the group buy be able to swap colors before the extras go on sale?I'd like to know that as well
I feel like every time someone asks a question my keyboard is going to ship one day later.

Will people in the group buy be able to swap colors before the extras go on sale?
The amount of emails jchan would have to sift through of people asking to switch and then having to redo stock of all the switches to make sure the aftermarket stock is completely correct. and the inevitable emails from people saying "hey so id like to switch my case color but could i also switch to a brass plate", would just be way to much. I couldn't see this as feasible without him having to delay the group buy shipment, which to me isn't okay for that reason. If your color preferances have changed since you started the group buy either try to set up a swap with someone else that is looking for a different color, or attempt to buy the color you want fcfs and then sell the other board.

Have a good day wherever you are in the world ;)
Congratulations! Now I'm looking forward to hear something about the sandwich case :thumb:
I was going to go forward with that case, but then decided that it isn't that awesome. Instead, I have an acrylic case being made right now, and I'll show it off when it is ready. But that's for a future time. It's currently being prototyped.
I thought maybe its time to get some nice plate colors, so I chose pink, mint, cyan, and purple for the plates :).

I have just registered on geekhack not long ago and I just found this keyboard recently! I am really interested in the M65A but I was too late to join the groupbuy on time, I would like to know are there any methods to join the buy now?
Sorry for the stupid question

I'm almost glad I'm not the only one struggling! I was seriously tempted by GMK Laser but the last set of renders turned out to be disappointing to me. I dig Miami Dolch's colorway but not SP's DSA.
Nowadays I'm mostly tempted by a black on dark grey PBT set or something OG to match one of my Goupil (http://i.imgur.com/oRmUndR.jpg) keyboards.
Thesiscamper made some renders with M65A and DSA Miami Dolch. Definitely a cool set that's been waiting a long time to make it out, so definitely check it out.

Edit: I asked for an update on everything, but it seems like chinese labor day has taken all communication down to everyone in China. We should hear back shortly and hopefully tomorrow. In other news, I finalized my office move. Just got some cleanup and work-flow optimization to do now.
