MG Unicorn Gundam OVA ver.

Show Image

My first gundam was a rg and it just felt too small and flimsy for me.

Jelly as ****

MG Gundams were fun to build, but I would complete them in 1-2 days. Bought a Perfect Grade gundam.. Now those were legit!  The box was huge - the head had an LED for lit up eyes, and the body had steel parts for the skeleton structure!

How often do they come out with new PGs? I saw there were like less than 20 or something. I hope the next one is unicorn since they have like 5 MGs out for it.

Nothing boring about that - I love MX black switches :D

And green.

And ... but that is another story ;)

Anyway, you have chosen a nice solid keyboard to start your collection.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

But those old beasties have been working really well all this time. I'm still sporting the C2D E8400 ever since it came out. Only now, with the newest games do I notice it becoming limited in a way that makes some games unplayable. So a toast to that generation of CPU's.  :thumb:

Once my funds recover this year or the next will I build a new rig to get up to date again.

After enjoying my Realforce 87Us for a few years now, I've decided to mix things up a little and bring in a couple of tenkeyless WASD V2s with Cherry MX browns.  All I'll need is some PBT keycaps and I'll be all set.  I've tried the Leopold FC660 which also has a swappable ctrl key and good keycaps, but I think I'll want something with physical F keys and the home/end/pgup/pgdown cluster for daily use.

But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

A teensy (2.0).

Planning on making a custom controller for my HHKB.

Is that even possible with a teensy??

Yup. See this thread. http://deskthority.net/workshop-f7/hardware-dvorak-hhkb-t3415.html

I talked to Hasu about it and he said it should be fine. He's shipping me the header adapter so I can still switch to the stock controller.

As far as I know this is how it works: The capacitance detecting is in another part of the board. The ribbon cable is then just a normal "matrix". The detachable board then handles the communication with the computer (which is what we want to replace).

Here are some pictures from others.

Hasu also has a thread up here about an alternative HHKB controller.

I'm well aware. There are a few messages from me on the last page :)

The PCB prototypes aren't produced very often and there are lots of other people "on the list" who also want one. Producing one myself is possible but the SMD scares me. Using a teensy is cheap and easy to build externally before connecting it.
