I hope people do the right thing and shop less.

Sorry, I don't see how the right thing to do is shop less.  Can you elaborate?  This is quite off topic, but I'm also quite curious.

It's bad legislation which hurts consumerism, is anti-business and was passed during a national economic recession as well as a then 40 billion dollars and change state deficit. One way or another, it also ends up hiking taxes.

Obviously the situation may be different over here than it is in the US but in Wales/most of Europe/England (soon) the idea is that if people have to pay for bags they will be less inclined to get more (plastic) bags when they don't need them. We have a fairly big landfill problem over here, partly caused by the vast amount of plastic bags people get through as they never reuse them. I don't think our governments are aiming to save any money from people not using more bags than they need as it is the shops that provide them but rather, the issue is an environmental one. With paper bags there would be less of an issue as they're biodegradable but we don't really get those over here for some reason.

A DAC from mkawa to finish my audio setup, and some caps from Hoffman :)
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

Epson HX-40.  I'm hoping it has MX or Alps compatible caps.  If it doesn't, it's still a cool little piece of history.

It also doesn't hurt that I scored it super cheap.

Are you charged for plastic bags?

They don't exist at the checkout anymore. Some places have paper bags that they usually charge for, but plastic isn't hip anymore. Some parts of CA aren't affected by the ban, but it's hit my hometown. Now I have to buy trash bags : ' [

They have been banned here in Huntington Beach as well. I just give them a buck and buy 10 of the heavy duty plastic bags they sell for 10 cents. Which basically makes the problem worse as the new thick bags will probably take 5 times longer to break down.

I've seen that colour scheme somewhere recently!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I saw one on Reddit with a more rounded lip that was found at an estate sale, was there another?  This one looks more like the one at ClickyKeyboards I linked to.  I was so happy no one else found it and bid on it.  I have two awesome pieces of history in the mail now with the Epson computer and this AT&T buckling spring.

RARE AS BALLS? I've seen a few of these on ebay in the last few months, for not outlandish amounts of money.

Is the goal just to have a model M with italic keycap legends?

I also have a set super cheap Royale Beta 8100 MX compatible doubleshots with keyboard the in the mail.  Confirmed to be MX ABS doubleshots here.  One more in my typewriter cap arsenal.

I've only really seen the non-buckling spring AT&T keyboards on eBay lately.  Some were potentially BS, but most I've seen have been rubber dome or membrane.

Nah, just to have an uncommon piece of history.  They have a different build to them than the Model M, have a different controller, and so on.  And for the price I paid, I won't feel bad if I decide to play around with it and accidentally kill it.

What sort of ball are these?
Old balls?

HHKB balls?
Dragon balls?

"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
