Welcome to Switzerland!

GB December 1st - January 12th

Have you ever been in the Alps and wanted to take a piece of it home with you? GMK Alpine is a Keycap set revolving around the beautiful Swiss Alps.
In Switzerland not only do we enjoy hiking, skiing, climbing or touring the mountains but the many different mountain animals enjoy the peaceful life up there and the Farmers watch their livestock while the herd dog plays around in the grass.
The Swiss mountains are a major part of my culture and something I would love to share with you. Even during tragic times, the Swiss alps helped defend Switzerland and gave anyone a hard time invading this beautiful country. They served as not only a shield but also as a bunker to keep the whole population safe.
This is my way of capturing the magnificent alps.

Inspiration:

The Novelties are based on real Mountains:
Esc is the Famous “Matterhorn”
Enter is from “Berner Oberland”: Eiger – Mönch – Jungfrau
This was a project that I was able to put a ton of time into because of quarantine and allowed me to truly put the beauty of the alps into my design.
I have spent much time practicing and growing my skills and truly hope you enjoy.

For the colors I wanted a simple look that kind of resembles a mountain.
The 4012 is a gray with a hint of purple as to not make this a boring gray set.
The WS2 resembles the Snow and the beautiful Edelweiss, the national Swiss flower.

The Enter, Arrows, and Spacebars are staying to boost sales/ popularity of the other kits as well as to not make the base kit price absurdly high.

It’s a pretty set, very calm and understated. I can’t say I’m entirely sold on the mountain novelties, being silhouettes they don’t immediately jump out as being mountain ranges to me.

I'm going to echo what a few other people have said so far and suggest that at least a few of the white accent keys find their way into the base kit.

Other than that, I'm also going to suggest that you exchange the ISO-UK-specific keys for more basic ISO support: ISO Enter, 1.25u Shift, R3 \|, R4 <>. This will make a room for a few other, potentially more commonly used keys in base — such as the white accents, or R3 PgUp and R4 PgDn.
It's also more thematically appropriate, since I don't recall many people in Switzerland using UK layouts (coincidentally, Swiss layouts do use R4 <> keys).

The purple case offered by Drop for Planck is very grey-ish, and the color here looks like it will be a great match for it.

Looks so good! The only thing i'd change is add the accent enter and esc to base kit and add more novelties into the accent kit to make up for the change.

Really enjoy the simplistic approach to kits without cutting out things like numpad. Also very much love the design and color choice. Do you have physical samples of the RAL's you've chosen? While I personally enjoy the color, I wouldn't call it gray with a hint of purple. It's very clearly purple. Definitely filling out the form and keeping an eye on this.

he does have a ral book and it was color matched might just be a bad description

Yeah looking at it, it defiantly is more purple than gray. I don't know why I described it the way I did. As Swishy mentioned, I do have a RAL fan and have color matched the set.

Looking great, congrats on making it to IC. I would try flipping the shading on the novelties around to dominate the design, it may give them some additional heft befitting a mountain.

Also, one more vote for white accents in base kit.

Also I got a few responses on forms to add novelties, I want to keep this set simple novelty wise but I do have some ideas which I hope I could do with some artisan collabs

I think they wouldn't be as good if it's just printed on a key cap.

I don't plan on doing different colored alphas or modifiers. I want to keep this set monochrome with accents.

Yeah, if I didn't miscount, the Swiss layout has 15 unique keys which would make Nord kit prices higher and it's not worth it sadly.

Yes i understand that. Because people wouldn't buy this kit because the price is higher than others.
I don't know this buisnes at all, but why not make a render of a CH kit, and a high MOQ (Could be 4 times less than norde or something like that) ?

I really like this set but the lack of a white spacebar and white arrow keys in the base kit feels like it forces me to buy the other kits just for those. I know that you are going for a more monochrome look but I would appreciate it if it has a little more white in the base kit than just the escape and enter keys.

Many kits don't include accented space bar because many users don't use them and people would rather use the alpha colored space bar. As for the arrow keys, I have a small amount of novelties and am not currently planning on adding more (this might change), so I would like to keep arrow keys in there. I'm also trying to keep base kit prices as low as I can and adding space bar and arrow keys will make base kit a bit more expensive and force people who want the monochrome look to purchase an expensive set, to then not use the accents.

I hope this made sense.

Thank you for candykeys. They are the only EU vendor to not charge EU-VAT for shipments to switzerland! I always use them if i can.
