What did you lose in the mail today?
« on: Fri, 31 May 2013, 10:34:54 »
An ode to those parcels forever MIA in the postal system.
unless they have some unforeseeable downside (like they're actually made of cream cheese cunningly disguised as ABS)

its been a month and no white gas mask has ever came....perhaps the postal service needed it for all those letters they've had to deal with lately :(

also some stuff from bunny was lost....hopefully the replacement for said stuff arrives, or else i'm just going to have to go pick it up next time :p

and while I'm not sure it was lost in the mail I'm currently being denied by my taobao agent but a good portion of my order was not in the box  :'(

70 Vintage MX-Black switches and 85 vintage black springs.

USPS claims it was delivered via their "tracking" number, but the package never arrived. Multiple calls and visits to the post office and nothing resulting from it.

i would also like to encourage anyone that is missing anything that i may have sent them to pm me first, some things take longer because im in the uk and also on some weeks i send upwards of 50 parcels out, this is no excuse but mistakes do happen, and i am always more than happy to fix any mistakes or missing articles, already 2 things of mine are listed so far in this thread, one of which i have already sent a replacement with some nice extras and the other of which will be replaced this weekend

i dont want this thread to negatively effect people on this forum, not just me but others as well, it can be damaging to people reputation, particularly when they are issues that can easily be fixed

Lower your expectations.

Approximately 2%-5% of shipments are likely to have some sort of problem.

Chalk it up to "the cost of doing business" and let it go.

If passers-by are stealing your mail, rent a PO box for $60 a year.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

I would actually use a Google Paper type service for receipts etc. but anyways... I think I've not had anything ever lost, only returned to me, which sucked since it was nearly $20 in shipping.
(Also, for those who didn't see it a few years back, it is indeed an April Fool's prank)

Not what I lost today but...

I've lost an ergo-clear modded Filco in the mail, my Filco Tenkey, and a MiMiC cable. And some other unimportant stuff from China.

Some long time ago a Rise Against vinyl never arrived and recently a keyboard (QQ :D), and two packages that i have no idea what they are containing. So in the last 2 months from 4 packages sent my way from EU countries 3 never arrived, and one arrived for 3 days. The posts are weird from time to time but there is nothing we can do and the life goes on so yeah keep it positive guys :p
