that's what i've heard -- just curious to see if lighter springs make them louder.
i wish there was a way to quiet down blues a bit without making them too heavy. my hands are strong and calloused from drumming but my fingers are weak.

Tin isn't spring material, so they wouldn't be made from that.  So again, the spring specs are what counts.  Obviously the material contributes to those specs, but between Ti and steel (or whatever other material) with the same force specs then all Ti gives you is a different corrosion resistance profile than steel and inside a KB that's pretty damned close to not important at all.

Also, the where you are on the curve matters. The spring constant is not all that matters. A simple example

Spring A is 20mm long and pre-compressed to 15mm
Spring B is 15mm long
Spring C is 5mm long

If you compress all of these 5mm, A will go from a certain force to a very similar force. B will go from zero to a certain force and C will go from zero to a VERY high force. In order to get a constant force, a longer spring that already has some tension would be better.

This is pretty obvious, but why hasn't there been more tests with this in the keyboard field? We can select both the starting force and the bottoming out force.

A spring which is just barely long enough to make the stem touch the housing would result in almost zero starting force which combined with a spring with larger spring constant would make for a steeper curve and greater change in force. On the other hand, we could take a long spring with a very small spring constant and compress it into the switch. It would have a large starting force but would change very little. If this is combined with the stems, you could make it so that the forces are maximized or minimized at certain point to emphasize parts of the stem.

Force spec of spring is determined by material(and its thickness), number of active coils, and length. Some force spec might not be achievable using certain material so material choice matters. Also, some materials would have longer life than others under stress.

Here is force chart that I measured from recent group buy springs. X axis is measured length of depressed spring and Y axis is reading from a scale.

62g spring according to my measurement has similar initial resistance and more resistance near the bottom.

The silver 62g springs from the recent Korean GB doesn't feel too different for me compared to the stock springs.  The 62g represents the force required to bottom-out, not actuation.  So when comparing to a stock Blue/Brown spring, the difference is really really really nominal.

Now, for whatever reason, the Gold 62g springs I have are significantly heavier.  Whether the '62g,' in this instance, represents the actuation or bottom-out...I have no clue.  But I suspect it means the actuation, since it seems a lot heavier.

So for those of you receiving the silver 62g springs, don't expect much of a difference between that and the stock springs.

Edit:  For reference, stock Blue/Brown springs require 45g to actuate and 60g to bottom out.  That means there is a difference of 2g on the bottom out, and even less on the actuation.

Only if the spring is linear and you test it in a linear switch... proper force curves need a decent sampling rate across the entire distance between un-compressed and fully compressed.
