FINAL UPDATE: Board as been sold as well.
UPDATE: Otaku keys have been sold. Now only comes with original key caps, but will include replacement win keys and space bar. All key caps are new, and unused.
I've been using this board on and off since June. I decided to go all topre and sell my cherry mx stuff, including my QF Rapid with reds. Asking $90 $65 plus actual shipping from Los Angeles. (should be $6-12 within US)
It has blank white ABS keycaps from a Leopold. The white spacebar doesn't fit, so I put in a slightly older grey spacebar with a little bit of shine. The white spacebar is included though, along with the original CM Storm keys that were taken off right when I got it.
I spent a lot of time sanding off the rubberized coating and removing the logos to give the plastic a brushed aluminum look. It's not 100% perfect like brushed aluminum out of a factory, but I'm really happy with it.
Plastic key puller, red wasd keys, ps2 adapter, usb cable, and original packaging also included.

GLWS. I really like this stripped down minimalist look. And I actually really like the off-color spacebar too. It's true to the board's style while at the same time breaking it enough to avoid monotony.

Where is that spacebar from?

wasdkeyboards i think

GLWS but considering the recent coupon on slick deals and your board being used...I think lowering the price will be a good idea.
-
I could also sell it without the Otaku keys and include just the original keys for $65 if someone wants to do that.
-
Sold the white key caps. Price is now $65 plus shipping for the board with black case and original keys.

So the surface is brushed metal looking plastic?

So the surface is brushed metal looking plastic?
Pretty much. Maybe a little less shiny than brushed metal.
I finished it with 1000-grit sandpaper to create scratches in one direction. Not sure how else to describe it :P

I really like the look of it, and recently got a quickfire rapid of my own. Mind describing the process that went into sanding everything down?

cool keyboard, cool dude. GLWS. someone buy this!

Sure! First you have to take the cover off. There's only one screw at the bottom, underneath the white warranty sticker. Then I used an old gift/credit card to slide under the front and rear edges to separate the cover from the base.
I think the paint job is done in three phases. Base coat (either black or gray), then logos, then clear rubberized coating on top.
I started with a pad of Scotch-Brite. I found it worked a little better than sandpaper to rub off the rubberized coating. You might want to do this outside cause rubber flakes will be floating everywhere.
Then I went with (I think) a 600-grit wet/dry sandpaper to take off the logos and base coat. I just dipped the entire cover in tub of water to keep it constantly wet.
After getting all the paint off, I started standing the plastic in one direction for all the surfaces I wanted to look brushed. I eventually moved on to finer sandpaper until the scratches looked the way I wanted.

GLWS. If I didn't think it would cost an arm and a leg to post to me, I'd be interested.

Looks like I'll know what to order to replicate this sweet look, any specific type of Scotch-Brite or did you just get a box of the all-purpose pads?

Just one of those thin green all purpose pads. I'm sure other ones might work too. Good luck!
-
Could you post some pics of the underside of the keyboard? That brushed aluminum looks really nice btw, good job.
-
Here are some photos of the board with the original keys. I gave away the cmstorm logo windows keys. So I'm including domed winkeys from a Filco instead. Looks better than logos anyways right?
I'd say the brushed finish isn't as pronounced in person as it is in the photo of the original post. I used a really fine sandpaper, so it's pretty discreet. I just set up the lighting so it would show up well in the first photo.

Thanks for the tips, I'll probably post back tomorrow somewhere with my results since I'll be off work.
Update 10/26: Just finished it and it looks amazing, just to the let water dry and it'll be perfect. Thank you so much OP.

You're welcome! I'm glad it came out well.

I hate to see "quick fire" on the space bar of this otherwise logo-less keyboard. I'm now including a brand new blank space bar that I ordered from wasdkeyboards. Someone buy my QFR!

Already said I might of the price wasn't as much as an arm and leg to send. :p
