I feel like I'm the only one who does this.
It's friday night, and I just switched my model m13 with my ducky shine. My model m13's trackpoint is very helpful in productivity, and it's 2kro makes it so I really can't game with it. So, I keep my model m on my desk during the week and switch it with my ducky at the end of the week when I know I'll be gaming.
I actually really enjoy the act of just switching the keyboards. Switching to my ducky shine on friday night makes me feel relaxed and removes stress. Switching to my model m on a monday helps get focused and know that it's time to get to work.
Does anyone else who switches their keyboards regularly do something like I do?

haha yesss I have a different keyboard for work/gaming and it's the greatest feeling in the world to put the work board away and bust out the gaming board!!!

I begin my ritual by scattering various keycaps around my floor. Sometimes it takes the form of the letters GH. Sometimes it turns into a pyramid. Sometimes a triangle. The caps fall into the shape that fate wants.
Next I uncover my keyboard altar. I collect all these keyboards to form a pedestal. On top of the heap will lie the three boards I most want to use. Three boards placed in the form of a triangle.
Then I find a G81 keyboard and slice it over the boards...the entrails, stabilizers, plastic bits, and krytox spill everywhere. As the Krytox soaks into the triforce of boards, I chant:
KEYBOARD GODS, ALIGHT MY PATH TO SWITCH ENLIGHTENMENT, I ENJOY MY FEELING
KEYBOARD GODS, ALIGHT MY PATH TO SWITCH ENLIGHTENMENT, I ENJOY MY FEELING
KEYBOARD GODS, ALIGHT MY PATH TO SWITCH ENLIGHTENMENT, I ENJOY MY FEELING
The boards levitate and then one board will float higher than the others. That is the board I type on for the week.

i just shout at them while my PC recognizes them

I used to switch, but over time I gravitated towards one keyboard for home and at work. It is pretty boring. I liked it better when I still wanted to try all kinds of things.
-
I used to switch from time to time, but I've really only got three keyboards I actually like and the rest of them are just random rubber domes.

i keep my v60 mini with greens locked away for pleasure writing.
taking it out of the case and assembling it just right on my desk when i have time to write is like a ritual they gets me in the mood.
i feel like an assassin cleaning his rifle

This might be the best post I've read on this site.

I have three keyboards plugged in right now. Four if you count the one on the other pc next to this one. I have two with browns for my usual use, one with ten-key pad and one without, and one with blues I'm just using to get used to. I can't stand having my mouse too far away unless I really need the ten-key pad.
What I really need is a better way to arrange the boards so they don't get in the way so much when not in use, and don't get tangled while swapping.

Rotating keyboards is a way of reinforcing choices for favorites. It is also a way to instill some variety with respect to appearance, feel, and sound.
When alone in the house, I like to break out the IBM Model F XT to enjoy its staccato metallic clicks and pings. When the XT might disturb others, I use a quieter board such as a RF 87ub 55g.
And yes, there is a kind of ritual -- I keep the boards in their original boxes in a walk-in closet adjoining my study. Bringing the boxes to the desk, lifting the "new" one out and lowering the "old" one into its box, plugging and unplugging, and selecting the new keyboard on the Karabiner remapping software are all part of the solemn ceremonial rite of swapping keyboards -- like the changing of the guard.

Do I have a ritual? I suppose I do. When I am replacing a plank lately is because I am replacing a cheap peace of crap Logitech dime a dozen board with a WASD. I usually take the Logitech and toss it casually over my shoulder as I plug in the WASD into the PS/2 port and turn on the computer.
There is just something satisfying about tossing a PoS keyboard over the shoulder. To be honest, still haven't had a Logitech break while doing it. However, when one does I will take pictures and post.

I've never tried throwing a board over my shoulder.
I have found it very satisfying to break a cheap rubber dome across your knee, however.

I feel your satisfaction over the 1s and 0s of the internets.

I have two commercial office desks pushed together to support 2 PCs, three monitors (I want to add more), an Epson WorkForce printer, 4 keyboards and my various crap. It gets... full. And I haven't even added a HiFi or AV amp to the setup yet, or an audio interface and midi keyboard.
