Street Fighter 4? I'm surprised anyone plays it at all.... Although I do have some good memories from playing the Sega version of the original... hmm.....

Wish they would port The Last Blade series to Steam. That and Capcom porting SFIII:3. So good.

well there's no point to porting, when everyone and their mothers got it on emulator..  both last blade AND SF3 works on mame..

and due to the 2D nature of the game, they'd be horribly laggy online anyway.

Every good game is worth porting to the PC :p More because I'd like to support them on a platform I use. As for the netcode, yea, have read porting SFIII:3 would need a lot of effort to be perfect. Still, I'd like to see The Last Blade series on Steam considering the Samurai Shodown II was ported to basically everything.

Glad the Sega port of Valkyria Chronicles port become a best seller on PC, I bought two copies for a giveaway so I did my bit. Hopefully some more console games see successful PC versions.

I've wanted to always play this on PC to see the difference.

I have yet to pull the trigger.

I agree, when you max out the settings it's quite something :)

It's a bit beyond that..

The game runs Super Well on PC, because it was designed from the grounds up for Arcade machines which are just Windows PCs nowadays, same hardware..

So the fact that you can run 8x Supersampling AA on a cheapo 7970, with 50% gpu utilization @ 60fps is Amazing..   (http://emoticoner.com/files/emoticons/onion-head/whaaat2-onion-head-emoticon.gif?1292862525)

Not everyone here is made from money. I'm looking forward to upgrading my 7850 sometime soon.

Hrrrmmmm.........  hrrrmmm.....

So.. current gen Street fighter is built for the Taito Type x3..  which means 6770ati or 560ti nvidia..

My guess is they'll build around that arcade machine on this one as well..  it's right in line with the PS4 capabilities..  although typex3 obviously has a more beasty intel i3/i5/i7

Did they announce an arcade version?

I wanted to build a pc and play sf4 on it to max the settings (along with other games). Now I can play 4 and 5 at good settings on a PC when I finally commit to building one.

I have a list of parts but never commit. Sigh!

Well.... max settings for SF4 is going to require more than the 6770..

you're looking at 7970 (280x) for 2560x1600 @ 8xeq SuperSampling.. requires about 80-90 capacity on the busiest stages..

I honestly think this game really neeeeds to be supersampled.. because the background is so blurry without supersampling.. the in game AA doesn't work on most background edges, because they're Textures..

So.. probably an nvidia 970 for good measure.. for 120fps on the asus swift (25x14 resolution)

lol those specs are drastically overshooting SFIV. With a 970 you'll be good until SF7 :))

Graphic settings have nothing to do with lag time. You can have your graphics maxed out and not run well - your gameplay is still running at the set speed of the game's engine online. Once you hit cap settings, you won't magically add more frames of animation or make online play smoother. Just an FYI

h/o let me take some screen shots for you..

OK first image 8xeq Multisample AA,  notice the screwed up background

Now 8xeq Supersample AA, MUCH better.. and very playable frame rates on 7970, you can get for $150 used on ebay..

All I'm saying is that it won't speed up gameplay, only make it look better.

I got to remember these settings when I actually commit to the parts I want for my PC.

Supersampling isn't usually an ingame setting because despite it's absolute superiority in image quality, it's very expensive relative to Multisample..

But as you see.. in this specific game.. Multisample does a poor job.

The reason behind this is.. SF4 started on Taito x2 hardware.. which is SLOW...  so to make everything smooth, they rely on 3D-looking textures instead of 3D-objects for the background..

Now, Multisample AA doesn't work on textures, which is why nothing can be done about the detailed lines in the background.

The only way to restore detail, is  Super sampling..  which renders the game @ 8x the resolution.. then (usually) uses bilinear scaling to target resolution (your monitor)..
