http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-SEEBURG-JUKEBOX-MODEL-8200-HI-TONE-COMPLETE-MECHANICAL-KEYBOARD-PART-/321636282946?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item4ae3043242
OK I have no idea why this is called a mechanical keyboard, but hey it is definitely mechanical and full of metal parts and very lasting so some geek will like it right?

For some reason this reminds me of the Antikythera mechanism.
-
My guess would have been that it came from a large music box or player piano.
-
That would make an interesting decor piece.

It is just crap. It is not an opinion, just pointing a fact.

Many people have pointed out similar 'facts' in the past, after which some geek went on to bid a huge sum of money to purchase the item in question.
I have learned not to oppose the subjective valuations of geeks.
:p

Of course, there is always people that like to spend their money in crap, that does not change the basic nature of it.

But would the Antikythera mechanism have been 'crap'?
I read somewhere that some people think it worth more than the Mona Lisa. And I agree! It is an awesome work by a geek who lived 3000 years ago!!!
If I were as rich as Bill Gates I would certainly buy that thing, and be willing to spend 100m on it. (I admit I won't even spend $200 on a Kishsaver.)
So maybe some geek finds this weird mechanism thing on ebay his Antikythera mechanism.

Well, comparing the crap with an ancient marvel (Antikythera discovery) is not fair,... for the crap.
