The cost will be around €109 although, as an authorised reseller I can offer pre-order discount, which will open up in two weeks time and will be about €10-€20.Wow, the price looks very promising, considering it'll have a metal case!
Not sure how relevant this is to this particular group buy, but it looks like the Pok3r release is postponed due to bugs. Source (https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/2xon6m/news_pok3r_release_postponed_very_little_actual/)This could be to do with the ANSI version, but I'll ask for clarification tomorrow.
I definitely want one, probably clears, will have to look up which layout is the common qwerty layoutANSI is US Standard, ISO is EU standard.
Just had a read and supposedly this has jumpers for Dvorak and Colemak - do you know if this is true and if so what they're planning to do about keycaps? If they're in the box I'll take a black one with blues (to jailhouse) but if not I'll think about it.I don't think they're doing anything special with the keycaps, just like the WASD Code.
UPDATEThat's unfortunate, but I've heard that's kind of the norm with Vortex...
Due to some software bugs, the date has been pushed back to 1st May, although this may change. Pre-orders will subsequently been moved back also.
Have updated original post with more details!
...
Looking at the Facebook pictures its not clear if its plate mounted?
...interested in ISO-DE / MX Blue. ;)
No LED options this time around, but I believe the PCB has the option for the end user to install whatever they want!
Tim, any idea if the plate has cut outs for opening the switches without desoldering?

certainly not AFAIK :/ this is a vortex keyboard, not a custom!
That would be wicked! Crossing my fingers.Tim, any idea if the plate has cut outs for opening the switches without desoldering?I doubt it but I'll certainly request it!

Any update on this? I have not seen any recent post by the OP.

Probably because of this.
Count me in for a backlit Pok3r with MX clears (US layout) ;)

Have some more information for everyone! Alas I'm waiting for a train home, so you will all have to wait!Is it a steamer? ;)
Hi Tim!
Susanne here from Sweden, I'm interested in Pok3r
Black metal case
PBT Key caps
Nordic Layout
Cherry MX Red
Is the discount still available or am I to late?
Thanks!
Quick someone run a GB on those Gmk blue on greys so i dont have to buy the board
Would you buy the board only to harvest the key caps set from it?
More so curious to see if GMK would allow a groupbuy in that colorway now
*edit
Sry didnt answer your question,
Yes
That's a bummer. I was hoping that I at least can put my own LEDs on it. :(
- No LED option at first, nor will the PCB be compatible (confirmed)
Agreed, though I don't use back lighting much, it's nice to have the option.
Sorry for the delay everyone - I got ambushed by monkeys wielding rubber dome keyboards and took a blow to the back of the head, but fear not, in my dizzy state I dispatched them quickly with my Model M. The received blow, did cause me temporary amnesia however so I had forgot all about this thread!
Alas I am here now! So update is...
- RRP is now looking to be €119 due to weaking €. (unconfirmed)
- No LED option at first, nor will the PCB be compatible (confirmed)
- Black metal case (confirmed), white in next batch (confirmed)
- PBT key caps with laser legends (confirmed)
- UK, DE, NOR layout in first batch (confirmed)
- Red, Blue, Brown and Clear Cherry MX switches - blue not available in DE or NOR layout (confirmed)
- 3 Programmable layers (confirmed)
Is this going to be plate or PCB mounted?
Damn, Id rather wait for the white case with LED'sThis

The new placement of the arrow keys is the worst decision I think they could've made.
The fact that the FN position is also on the right doesn't even make it comfortable to use with 2 hands... Real shame!

So... what exactly is new that the 2 didn't have? The article is a bit older, but intelli78 did a great write-up (http://www.keychatter.com/2015/01/30/the-vortex-poker-iii-pok3r-vs-the-poker-ii-what-we-know-so-far/) on this.
The new placement of the arrow keys is the worst decision I think they could've made.I'm not so sure. As long as the Fn key can be pressed with the left hand.
LED versions will be available, but not likely until first batch is sold.

Is this also true for the white version? Or will it be available on launch?
I was hoping it would have cherry profile caps at least. for me it's a poker2 with an awful 2nd layer positions and a low profile case... much room for improvement still :/

No innovation whatsoever.
Regardings LEDs... that last picture shows LEDs soldered, if I'm not mistaken. Is our board simply lacking some SMD parts which we could add ourselves, or what does "lacking LED support" mean here precisely? That's probably a shot of the board in the other pictures. The poker 2 was done the same; solder in the LCD holes even on the non-backlit version. Really annoying if you're a beginner with a soldering iron and just want to add the LEDs yourself... would be a simple job if they hadn't done that!
I'm only asking since I'd have to tear this thing apart anyway if I want to go for ErgoClears.
(I could just go for a GON PCB though :/)

Are you sure the ISO-DE layout has QWERTY, not QWERTZ?
What is the reason for changing these two letters compared to the DE layout?

Wondering the same ...

I believe using the DIP switches, you can swap the PN and FN buttons around. LED versions will be available, but not likely until first batch is sold.
FYI there can be an MX green version if I can get 60+ orders for it.

You'd still have your left arm crossing your body though :/
Edit: Also all of the symbols on the third layer of the number row are non standard but that might actually be done on purpose I guess.
For example swiveled brackets {} would usually be on 8 & 9 and square brackets [] would be on 5 & 6...

Are you sure? I've been using de layout my entire life and I've always had those brackets like in the picture. The only difference I can see are the y and z key. (I guess they just forgot to switch those for the picture.)
Is it possible to get blank keycaps in the first round too?
I doubt there will ever be keycaps in a swiss layout, so I will have to stick with blank keycaps :(
If its not possible i will have to live with a DE layout ( clear switches )
is the keycap profile OEM or CHERRY?
is the keycap profile OEM or CHERRY?
AFAIK OEM.
EDIT: Disclaimer - this is kinda an educated guess.
too bad :-[It's on there fairly regularly, just wait until it drops again.
I missed the sale for the vortex cherry pbt
This is vaporware. What do you mean? It certainly exists:
Programming InstructionCan it remember what layer was active across reboots? I think a non-programmable main layer wouldn't be such a problem then.
Note:
.. big sigh POK3R still not main layer programmable. :-[
Waited, hoped.. oh well.

Yeah, it is a prototype, that does not mean the keyboard is a "product" yet, ready to be sold.
Are we still expecting the keyboards to ship next month?Who knows. The ANSI version has been delayed as well.
Massdrop has started a drop with poker3 so i hope the iso version will be ready next month too.
Are there any new informations?
about the price, when we can preorder the board when it will be shipped?
Is there a chance, that we can buy a carrying case and some blank (thick white pbt) keycaps with the board together, so that we europen ppl dont have to make multiple international orders?
