Sorry for the delay everyone - I got ambushed by monkeys wielding rubber dome keyboards and took a blow to the back of the head, but fear not, in my dizzy state I dispatched them quickly with my Model M. The received blow, did cause me temporary amnesia however so I had forgot all about this thread!

Alas I am here now! So update is...

  • RRP is now looking to be €119 due to weaking €. (unconfirmed)
  • No LED option at first, nor will the PCB be compatible (confirmed)
  • Black metal case (confirmed), white in next batch (confirmed)
  • PBT key caps with laser legends (confirmed)
  • UK, DE, NOR layout in first batch (confirmed)
  • Red, Blue, Brown and Clear Cherry MX switches - blue not available in DE or NOR layout (confirmed)
  • 3 Programmable layers (confirmed)

LEDs routing is not that complicated when you already have the other components implemented. It does not make sense a previous version with no LED support, if the final product will have it.

The new placement of the arrow keys is the worst decision I think they could've made.

The fact that the FN position is also on the right doesn't even make it comfortable to use with 2 hands... Real shame!

Regardings LEDs... that last picture shows LEDs soldered, if I'm not mistaken. Is our board simply lacking some SMD parts which we could add ourselves, or what does "lacking LED support" mean here precisely?

I'm only asking since I'd have to tear this thing apart anyway if I want to go for ErgoClears.

(I could just go for a GON PCB though :/)

I believe using the DIP switches, you can swap the PN and FN buttons around. LED versions will be available, but not likely until first batch is sold.

FYI there can be an MX green version if I can get 60+ orders for it.

I'm not so sure. As long as the Fn key can be pressed with the left hand.

Something strange though, is that the PgUp/PgDn keys are on the horizontal and the Home/End keys are vertical to each other...
Why didn't they go with a numpad-like setup which more people are used to?

And BTW... German layout still has legends in English.

There is some innovation.

But, I agree with you. For the most part, I might as well get a v60.

The metal case is a bonus but the lack of leds isn't that great.

That's probably a shot of the board in the other pictures. The poker 2 was done the same; solder in the LCD holes even on the non-backlit version. Really annoying if you're a beginner with a soldering iron and just want to add the LEDs yourself... would be a simple job if they hadn't done that!

German Layout is definitely QWERTZ, confirmed!  :thumb:

Edit: Also all of the symbols on the third layer of the number row are non standard but that might actually be done on purpose I guess.
For example swiveled brackets {} would usually be on 8 & 9 and square brackets [] would be on 5 & 6...

Everything else looks pretty standard to me tho!

The fact that the FN position is also on the right doesn't even make it comfortable to use with 2 hands... Real shame!

I believe using the DIP switches, you can swap the PN and FN buttons around. LED versions will be available, but not likely until first batch is sold.

FYI there can be an MX green version if I can get 60+ orders for it.

You'd still have your left arm crossing your body though :/
