Where you going? Tokyo?Going Tokyo yes. It's part of something the family and I have been savings/planning a few years back. The keyboard hobby have delayed it further (lol, no, that is not true... but I am sure it plays a part) and now I have no excuse anymore. It's not entirely on vacation .. sight seeing being a part of it. I will definitely visit Akihibara to geek out, Mount Fuji to be back to nature, lulz and maybe take a bullet train or two :thumb:

Pretty easy to get to, you'll be passing Toshima on your way to plenty of tourist attractions. The rail there is probably the best I've ever been on, super easy to understand and with my rail pass I barely paid anything.

I was born in Canada, was raised in Taiwan for the first 2 years, then back to Canada till age 10 where i moved to Japan and went to a regular Japanese school for 2.5-3 years then back to Canada till last year but with frequent trips back to Japan, Taiwan, and Hong kong in that time as well.

Famicon games aren't region locked, they're sold pretty much everywhere, especially in Akiba.
There is free wifi here and there but i wouldn't depend on it, It's definitely a better idea to get a data sim. Your Iphone 6 will be fine assuming it's unlocked.

In my opinion I would get a data sim or rent a portable wifi hotspot. Their subway system is pretty confusing if you aren't familiar with subway's so having internet was pretty helpful in not getting lost.

We found many delicious local places that we would have never have found if we had just used some regular travel guides or randomly picked places off the street. I think anything about 3.5 stars and above is safe to try out. There are specialty places for all sorts of Japanese food. Sushi, soba noodles, okonomiyaki, tempura, tonkatsu, kushiage, etc etc. So so good.

In the US it was called Super Nintendo Entertainment System, Super NES or SNES for short. I believe Famicom is short for Family Computer

Btw anyone know if there are free wifi everywhere in Japan or it's better for me to buy a data SIM? I don't even know if the iPhone 6 will work there - Japan being very special in terms of network.

Super Famicom games and SNES games aren't region locked. You can play Japanese games on your American systems... and should :D
Gameboy games, DS, and PS3 games are not region locked either. And you can play JAP Saturn games with the help of an expansion cart.

I really have no recommendation since i've never used any WiFi services. That said another option other than just the SIM would be a portable WiFi router but again, i've never used one lol

I was super impressed by how practical this toilet in my room is. Every time you flush, the water pipe will fill up the tank for the next flush, right? This particular pipe is built externally, so you can wash your fingers.. And the waste flow back into the tank for future flushing. Hmm...... I'm not sure what to think of that.
