You don't have to get dressed up to work from home, tp. You don't even need pants or underwear on conference calls.

I explained that to my fiance the other day. She asked me to put some air in her tires.
Me: "That means I would have to put on pants..."
Her: "Even though you're working from home, you're still working and should wear pants."
Me: "... That would defeat the whole purpose of working from home."
This is the most furious I have heard tp4...
Zero judgment with this question, but have you worn socks with those at any point?Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/bcrWevl.jpg)
I wear these whenever I can. My feet like to breathe.

I'm worried if you have. That's some questionable style choices....

I would love to be able to wear comfy shoes to work. Too bad OSHA doesn't feel the same way.

I would not want to wear non-steel toed shoes at my job...
I don't disagree with OSHA on that one.
I actually agree with you. We just need work boots that are as comfy as sneakers.I would love to be able to wear comfy shoes to work. Too bad OSHA doesn't feel the same way.

The biggest downside to having to wear steel toe boots most of the time is when I'm not wearing them and forget and go to kick something.

Honestly I've been wearing these boots (http://www.redwingshoes.com/red-wing-shoe/4441-red-wing-shoes/4441-red-wing-mens-11-inch-pull-on-boot-brown) for a few years now, I'm more comfortable in them than sneakers. I've got an older pair that I wear to work and a brand new pair I wear to other events.
Work from home.
Then you don't even need pants!
If you can get away with penny loafers or driving moccasins I would highly recommend getting a pair, it's like wearing fancy slippers at work.

Agreed. Once broken in, slip-on shoes can be extremely comfortable.
Laces are good when you need real support for rough stuff or distance walking, but loose lightweight slip-ons are better for everyday stuff.
So you don't like the dress code/uniform policy. Seems to be two solutions.
1. Deal with it.
2. Find a different job.
If you think your shoes aren't comfy enough, try come and work my job. I wear these boots (http://www.carolinashoe.com/Product?stockNo=CA5502) every day at work.
This is my current "office". (Attachment Link) . Be glad you were smart/lucky enough to get a job that doesn't require metatarsals. I wear these boots on jobs that doesn't require the metatarsals mostly because they are $175 with a union discount. Though if I bought a pair specifically for jobs that just need a safety toe I would buy these boots (http://www.wolverine.com/US/en/durashocks-sr-gore-tex-waterproof-composite-toe-eh-8-inch-work-boot/18124M.html?dwvar_18124M_color=W02566#cgid=men-footwear-work-safety-toe&start=1)
