I explained that to my fiance the other day. She asked me to put some air in her tires.

Me: "That means I would have to put on pants..."
Her: "Even though you're working from home, you're still working and should wear pants."
Me: "... That would defeat the whole purpose of working from home."

I'm not mad,  I'm just disappointed that society thinks this is OK...

It's a completely-unnecessary sacrifice..

Zero judgment with this question, but have you worn socks with those at any point?

I'm worried if you have. That's some questionable style choices....

Did you consider finding comfortable shoes that still looks classy?

I just had to change mine and found some very nice geox shoes for work and they are very nice. You need to brake them first, but after 1-2 weeks it's all good!

I would love to be able to wear comfy shoes to work.  Too bad OSHA doesn't feel the same way.

I would not want to wear non-steel toed shoes at my job...

I don't disagree with OSHA on that one.

The biggest downside to having to wear steel toe boots most of the time is when I'm not wearing them and forget and go to kick something.

Honestly I've been wearing these boots for a few years now, I'm more comfortable in them than sneakers. I've got an older pair that I wear to work and a brand new pair I wear to other events.

I've been eyeing those boots lately, and they will probably be my next pair.  I have a pair of 6" with the king toe currently, and they are the best boots I have owned so far.  They have a ways to go before they reach sneaker comfort, but they are damn close.

If you can get away with penny loafers or driving moccasins I would highly recommend getting a pair, it's like wearing fancy slippers at work.

Agreed. Once broken in, slip-on shoes can be extremely comfortable.

Laces are good when you need real support for rough stuff or distance walking, but loose lightweight slip-ons are better for everyday stuff.
"However, even though I was born in the Mesozoic, I do know what anyone who wants to reach out to young people should say: Billionaires took your money. They took your chance to buy a home. They took your chance at a good education. They stole your opportunities. Billionaires took the things you want in life. If you really want those things, you have to take them back.
That's the message. That's the whole message. Say that every day, not just to reach America's frustrated young white men, but people of every age, race, and gender.
Late-stage capitalism is a wealth-concentration engine, focused on vacuuming up every dollar and putting it in as few hands as possible. Republicans are helping that vacuum suck.
How does a tiny fraction of the population get away with this? They do it by dividing the other 99% of Americans against themselves."

So you don't like the dress code/uniform policy.  Seems to be two solutions.

1.  Deal with it.

2.  Find a different job.

If you think your shoes aren't comfy enough, try come and work my job.  I wear these boots every day at work.

This is my current "office". 102796-0. Be glad you were smart/lucky enough to get a job that doesn't require metatarsals.  I wear these boots on jobs that doesn't require the metatarsals mostly because they are $175 with a union discount.  Though if I bought a pair specifically for jobs that just need a safety toe I would buy these boots
