3____   USB 2.0 Hub (full speed), @ least 2 ports.....  $4 ebay

4____   Nanokk, Evoluent mouse Knockoff, (perfect shape clone)..... $20 ebay

5____   Logitech G303........ $24 amazon sale

6____   1 set of WMO Hyperglides.....

Make sure to Cover the Lens while you work on the mouse.. Don't wanna melt the lens via stray solder.

--- It's a very straight forward mod, snap hub in 2 pieces, hook up both mouse (internally) to the hub piece with the chip on it..  solder buttons to g303, keep wheel attached to nanokk..

Evoluent is the worst conceivable vertical mouse configuration in the universe.

By its nature you must "pinch" it between thumb and fingers - there is no simple 1-finger tapping because "equal and opposite reaction" will cause it to move unless it is restrained by the thumb.

Neither vertical nor horizontal is best. The mouse should lean in at about 45 degrees so that the wrist is rolled over partially but gravity is still working in your favor.

I just wish that a decent left-hand vertical mouse existed.

Evoluent is by far the best shape..

I can understand how a novice to ergonomics might not understand how to use one. .hahahaha

Very basically, you have to learn to lightly pinch the mouse between the thumb and pinky..

Ontop of that, Mouse height must be adjusted to BELOW elbow height..

There is an adjustment in TECHNIQUE, that comes with vertical mousing..

You can't expect all your old habits to work,  they don't..

Fohat's complaint is the same as those who are not using the ERGODOX properly

As for 45* mouse,  It does not solve the wrist angle problem whatsoever

The reason is,  If you tilt even 45degrees, you are STILL rotating inwards in order to click the button..

You're essentially pushing against the rotation in your wrist..

This rotational stress is responsible for the majority of forearm related RSI..

I think , the next step, even better, is something similar to the FPS gun mouse by Zalman..

yeah it's the only option but it's like $500 and has a split ANSI layout

i'm drooling at the thought of a proper ergodox with topre pcb/plate support though

Pain free...!!

Confident this is the way to go...

All wrist and forearm rigidness is gone..

No longer get that pain/soreness on the --inside-- of the --middle-- of forearm right behind the wrist..

Hi,
I thought after this posting I saw you mention that using the the Logitech G304 as donor for decent sensors simplified the operation. (no longer needs the hub), but I can't find that reference any longer.
Was I dreaming? or can you point me to that reference?

Thank you.

If the mouse uses a mechanical rotary encoder wheel , you probably won't need the hub..

I say probably because I don't actually own any of the new logitech mechanical wheel mouse.

the Gpro, and 403  But overall,  i'm 90% sure it will work, because that rotary encoder looks to be the generic type used in nearly Every other mouse.

I think g304 is only international, haven't seen one.

Ah yes, I meant the g403 not the g304. I was working from fallible memory. Thanks.

Hahahaha..

After I got used to it,   it works just as well for me..   and the comfort is unparallel..

But since I'm one of probably 20 people who's got a bolt together mouse..   the Science is still out..

But that DOES make Tp4 a Leading authority on the subject..  .. hahahahaha
