Longest in the US is probably a week when just slammed with website work. I was so glad I had a 24x7 grocery store because I'd never know what time it was with the shades all down. I would get on a 30hr day cycle. Usually my buddy Robbie would have some sort of get together at his house that would get me up and back to normal for a few hours. Or if I had to go out in public--I always cleaned up for that earlier in the day.
My norm is daily. I hate when I miss my morning shower. My day starts out foggy without the morning shower.

If I was working I would be showering, at this point not showering is like a form of silent protest that affects absolutly no one except myself. I swear I'll shower the day they call me back in. :rolleyes:

Sometimes during the winter I bathe every other day, most usually when I haven't worked up a sweat or anything and can go until the next day.

I should have mentioned I have the utmost respect for folks who have gone through stuff like that in service of their country.
I gained a new perspective when I spent a summer in Vietnam with an aircon that was on the fritz. So hot I wondered if my balls were going to melt off. And to think our guys lived through that in full BDU's in the jungle with no aircon or even a fan.
Can't imagine how hot the inside of a tank gets in the summer...

Yeahhh, it was extra bad because we only had three showers between the 30 or so of us. There was a lot of mud from clothes and boots, muddy footprints, and I think we may have left half of Alberta in the water system of that place.
I will try and find some more photos, I know I have some of our time out in the field somewhere. There is a good picture of us by our tank with the name sprayed on the side, just need to find them all...

Too much showering is bad for your skin, AND it places an extra load on your body to replace the oils which protect you from oxidation.

You know by showering 3 times a day you are just destroying your skin's natural defenses, right?It also depends on what one defines as a 'shower'. I know that without a scrub brush my skin doesn't feel 'clean', so after any trip to India, it doesn't feel like I've taken a shower in however long I was away.
The first thing I enjoy when coming home from India is a shower. The next thing is an All-American burger. God Bless America!

Thx, the first one with the birds I did actually get up at 4am, walked to the Potala palace freezing my butt off, and took some shots of the moon and then the sunrise.
But the one with the mountains, I'm ashamed to say, I took in my underwear through a cracked "window". I was staying in a small shack on the roof of an apartment building in དཀར་མཛེས་རྫོང། (far northwest corner of Sichuan province). No foreigners are allowed there, but we made friends with a guy who owned one of the apartments. He snuck me and my two friends in and let us stay in the shack. It was so cold, with the wind blowing through the cracks, lol. The next morning I woke up and realized the sun was almost rising. I was missing it! I pulled back the board covering the "window" and saw that mountain peeking through the clouds. Grabbed my tripod and long lens and nailed it. According to those in the village the mountain doesn't even have a name. That's how that place is. A measly 22,000ft/6700m peak doesn't deserve a name. :eek:
One of these days I'll post some more pictures in a separate thread. Don't want to muck this one up further. We need more gross pictures of dudes with no showers!

It depends on the weather. In the summer, I often shower twice a day. In the winter when highest outdoor temperature is still colder than in a refridgerator, if I don't break a sweat then often only every other day.

TIL I'm a germaphobe. This thread was full of NOPE for me.
Being grossed out that someone with ready access to a shower wouldn't bathe for 5+ days doesn't make you a germaphobe, most people are grossed out by that

Xanax helped allot but it's just crazy hard to get some pre-scribes to you.
they always start you off with something else then they give you the actual stuff that you have found that works but low dose still works so whatever.
without insurance it did actually cost me up towards 2k in doctor visits to actually get what i wanted scripted to me for that.
it's actually pretty horrific.
now i would stank but not to the lvl of a man who has not bathed in a month and some extra like really i got away with some right guard and clean clothes for the most part.
i really honestly for the most part got away with it just changed clothes put on some deodorant and good to go.
really even today i only bath like once or twice a week i only ever bother showing before going out to see a girl or other social things.

still took me almost 3 weeks of basically doing chemical warfare to a tub to get it to shower standards.

Well what i heard from the people who lived there was that the homeless/junkies had been using the place to sleep for about 3months before the guy who brought it at auction or whatever added it to his list of rental homes they re-did the inside kinda cleaned the outside you can tell all they did was pressure wash it.So noisyturtle have not washed for 10 days despite being in his own home. the bathtub i'm guessing was the homeless peoples toilet and the guy who brought the house simply had his crew clean and pressure wash due to being already over budget having to replace most of the inside.
so the bathtub just had like stains all over one side and all over the bottom due to the crews pressure hose and scraping efforts most of it was gone and it looked like it would pass as simple used cheap tub.

23 days while out on exercise in Canada. It was boiling hot in the middle of July, and I was sat in a tank within six inches of a red hot engine for 12-18 hours a day, and it was probably the worst three weeks of my life.
You get to the point where you stop smelling yourself. Luckily my hair was quite short so that wasn't too horrible, but I still ended up seriously dirty.
Here was me after said three weeks. Oh yeah, and that shirt did not get changed the whole time.
I stopped reading the thread after this post- no point continuing. This post wins.

I shower usually twice, at least once unless I pass out drunk. Sometimes three. I work in a greasy kitchen though so if I don't shower after work it's just awful. I usually sweat a lot in my sleep so I have to shower in the morning.

Got up early to go to a music festival on a Wednesday and the weather was perfect the whole time (cloudy but no rain) so when we got back at about 6am after being up all night we spent Monday playing Worms Armageddon on a big TV before heading to our homes to get clean. Friend's mum was not impressed with having three smelly lads invading her living room but it could have been so much worse if it had been hot!

Mind you, this was in 95+ degree weather in a desert in full battle rattle.
I think I pissed like twice for the total 12 days. I was going through so many canteens of water a day it was ridiculous.
We had to mark a slash on our helmets for every canteen we finished. after every day our helmets looked like zebra stripe camo.
The point being: I sweated like 2 rats shagging in a wool sock.
Had I not used baby wipes....
