No PA? Lame trip bro. I just got a puppy :-/
Hey, any other keyboard geeks in the Tampa/Ocala/Gainesville/Orlando area? If so, team up and meet up with the Hoff somewhere in that area for a hangout? I know that's a big area, but I'm sure he'd rather make one Florida stop than several. :-)
Whatever day you are in Chicago we can go out for drinks and live music. I have a bed (that probably is too small) and a couch (maybe big enough) for you to stay on if you really get your drink on. If the creative mood strikes you can also make some caps with me :D.
ALSO TACOS
Couch available here in Indianapolis or perhaps a simple meetup for whatever. But what is your anticipated date of passing through? I'll be out of town around Christmas time.

Might be a bit out of Hoff's way...

But I would steal hoff to myself anyway :/
So make it not out of my way? I don't see the problem. :3

Brb, moving SoCal to a location that's not out of Hoff's way.

I assure you that if I had the time I would go around the entire country. :)) Sadly, this is not the case. :(
So close yet so far.

Right.
Just enough time to come to the west coast. Not the entire country, got it!
I'm off work for that whole time. Orlando. Smarmar, data, and ccarlitos are here. And vesper in Tampa. If you don't hang out with us we will withhold hugs from you for 1 year. Soup Nazi style.
We can all hang out at my house (grill out, watch bowl games, etc.) or we can meet somewhere more central. You are welcome to stay with me if you like. I'm not worried if you're a serial killer, because I'm one too!
Hoff, you're driving in the wrong direction. Canada is north, not south :P

YAY!! :3 We will definitely have to get together. I am 100% prepared to spend a few days in FL during this trip, before venturing back to the frozen landscape of the north. If we can even tentatively set up some sort of plan for activities and such, it would help me to know when I'll be heading north and might be passing the other people in this thread. Any ideas?
What time do you think you'll be driving through north GA?

Stop by my dystopia of Columbia, SC and you can crash at my place, and I'll feed you the best chicken and waffles you might ever have, go record shopping...yadda yadda. Could take a day or two off for ya buddy (or more, as much as you need :) )

Funny coincidence, we met briefly during the NC Raleigh meetup and now I'm in Orlando for the thanksgiving week. We can meet up in Tampa or you could detour to Orlando and meet up in downtown Disney/Universal

Well this is all on the way back up to WI, so it'd be Detroit and then up to the UP; but I also want to hit Chicago to see DOOM, so that complicates things. I'll have to see how the timing plays out and decide which route to take at that point. :thumb:Funny coincidence, we met briefly during the NC Raleigh meetup and now I'm in Orlando for the thanksgiving week. Hah, awesome! Are you just down in FL for Thanksgiving though, or will you still be there in early 2016? If you are down there at this time, you can add yourself to this probably FL meetup. :DGoodluck with the trip mate. I Wish i live in America :p
Thanks! I wish you did too. :)
I'm not the most inventive person when it comes to tour-guiding. Sorry. I do like to hang out though.
In Central Florida/Orlando/Tampa, here are are some things I thought of to do, with estimated costs:
Theme parks: Disney, Universal, etc. (approx $110/day + parking + food)
Gatorland, etc.: $40 (hold gators, eat gators, learn about gators, etc.)
Airboat rides/swamp tours: $50-$100 depending on duration
Grill/hang out/watch TV at my house
It will probably not be warm enough for beach/swimming. No spring training at that time. Demolition derby isn't operating that weekend. No football or soccer in season at that time.
Please if other people have some ideas post them. I'm just a moron with this kind of thing, sorry.
Let's have another nashville meet up
I may be able to be in Nashville :)
I'll be in orlando from Dec 20th to Jan 10th from college so if anyone plans something in the Central Florida area I'm totally down! Maybe we could go to an Orlando Magic game as they have a home game on the 30th and on the 6th. If anyone is into climbing there is also a really popular bouldering and rock climbing gym in lake mary which is like 30 minutes away from us. Just let me know what the plan is and I'll do my best to come!!
So close. Nothing mech-related happens in Miami

Oooh, definitely! You'll have to join us for whatever it is we end up doing. :D Orlando Magic sounds like basketball, which isn't quite my cup of tea, but I'm into anything with cool people so I could be swayed (or if it's like a must-see team or something that's fine too). Climbing, on the other hand, is something I'm very much into but very much out of shape in doing. :| But I could pretend to be in shape for a day or two. :))
Either way, we'll have to be sure to keep you in the loop. :thumb:

Oh you don't need to tour guide or do anything fancy! Sorry if that's what it seemed like I was implying. Even anything as simple as "we'll hit this vidya game store one day, these ice cream shops every day, grillout every meal at my house", etc. Just to get an idea of how much time I should be spending in FL. I have been wanting to spend some time with you, Vesper, and the other FL peeps for quite some time, so I just want to be sure I give the proper time (as opposed to just stopping for two hours for lunch). Hope that helps. :) So we don't need to get crazy and spend a bunch of money or anything. Unless you want to go skydiving, of course. :3

I'm in Orlando and regularly frequent Tampa (my olde stomping grounds). The Orlando/Tampa area is riddled with local exotic coffee shoppes, gaming pubs, climbing gyms, and other what-have-yous where we could all meet. Heedpantsnow's place sound good too. It would be awesome if a bunch of us FLOridahz could get together during this tour.
Speaking of gaming pubs: there's a themed pub called The Cloak & Blaster near Waterford Lakes and a geek store called Gods & Monsters in The Artegon Mall on I-Drive (both in Orlando). One has good food and both have excellent specialty beers and lots of room for gaming (cards, vidja, board, RPG, etc.).
I have a business trip sometime in early January but I don't think it will interfere.
I might make a weekend trip out of it if there's enough people in Orlando or Tampa (or even better, Ft. Myers)

For Orlando what kind of food does everyone like? We could do lunch around the UCF area and then go to vespr or maybe somewhere close to Winter Park and go to Park Ave Cds if anyone wants to check out my favorite vinyl store :D

Park Ave is one of my favourite music shoppes. I bought vinyl there only once when they were having one of their street parties. I get my vinyl fix mostly from Retro Records & Tapes and from 2nd-hand shoppes. And of course, Stardust Movie & Coffee, across the street is the java hub for that area.
Vespr might have the best coffee in O-town (thanks, heedpantsnow!). There are quite a few other tasty lunch destinations in the UCF area.
Winter Park has a few of my favourite local food haunts: The Fiddler's Green (authentic UK atmosphere, fare, and pub), Pho88 (traditional Vietnamese fare, with the 2nd best iced coffee in town), The Dandilion Cafe (hippie tea/sandwhich place).
I, myself, love any kind of authentic, traditional foods. Not a fan of chain restaurants.

Dandelion Cafe is soooo good. Just didn't want to suggest it as it being a vegan place might turn some people off. I have never heard of Stardust Movie and Coffee though. I'll have to visit it soon. Have you been to East End Market right by Park Ave Cd's? There is a fantastic coffee shop called Lineage in there :) and the best sushi in Orlando in Kappo.
I've been meaning to check out East End Market. I just looked it up. I didn't know it was an actual brick & mortar place--with coffee and sushi bar! Stardust is directly across the street from Park Ave, tucked behind the 7-11. Believe it or not, the sushi kiosk at Artegon, called U Roll, is surprisingly good. It's a must-stop whenever I'm there. I'm nowhere close to being a vegan and I still love the food at Dandelion (portobello shroom sandwhich :p )!
Pho88 has very good coffee but the best Vietnamese style coffee I have would be from Boston Bakery & Cafe just a few blocks away on Colonial. They also have kickass Vietnamese sandwich as well.

I haven't been to that one. The BEST ca phe sua da in central Florida can be found at Saigon Noodle & Grill in East Orlando. Their coffee is imported from the family's own bean crop in Vietnam. Their pho meatballs are not as tendon-y either. They also do karaoke!
There's a place out here in Tampa that is the bomb and is always packed. It's called Saigon Deli. Priced very well and always good too.
Hmmm I also grew up in that area. WTH maybe we know each other. :OThere's a place out here in Tampa that is the bomb and is always packed. It's called Saigon Deli. Priced very well and always good too.
I haven't been to Saigon Deli but I have tried Pho Nhu Trang a couple blocks down. It's pretty decent. That area is where I grew up.
Whenever I come into town to see the folks we always go to the cuban cafes. The cubano sandwhiches they make here are unique to Tampa--made with authentic Tampa-style cuban bread with the palmeto leaf down the center. :thumb:
So do we just post our same conversations over again?
The conversation went like this:
Hey did you guys notice that we spent too much time talking about coffee and not enough time talking about taking a photo of GHers at Splash Mountain at Disneyland? Also a hilarious picture at Harry Potter World/Land/Place thing where someone holds a keyboard and another person holds a wand yelling expelliarmus.
TL:DR - The meetup is at Disneyworld.
I want to head to BC at some point, but that's quite a trek. :|

Do it Hoff, BC is beautiful! The rainforests are my favourite part - too bad I don't live that close to any. One day. :))
If you ever find yourself in the sunny Okanagan Valley (AKA Canadian Florida), hit me up and we can chill. :thumb:
Cpt please tell me you're coming.
Hey! Soooooo have we come with a plan :D?? Is it actually Disney? Foods?
Darn. I'm in Gainesville FL for the holiday, but leave on Jan 3. Alas, were the Tampa day only a day earlier... But I'll have to spend my last day with family and such. The bastards.

Maybe you should just divert through NYC.
Yo I can do the breakfast thing. Do you prefer near the i-75 area so you'll be on your way to Tampa conveniently?

Oh! One more thing.
This is not primarily a keyboard venture, but I'm happy to bring any boards/keysets/artisans with me that people might like to see. So if there is anything in my collection that you're itching to get your paws on momentarily, let me know! :P Flux Keypacitor will be making the trip, per JQ's request. ;)
So, Orlando peeps, what are we going to do on Sunday and Monday? I just talked to my assistant and she's clearing my Monday so I think I will be free both days. :thumb:

I say we go to Vespr :D at least for a bit on Monday
Pretty sure I can get Monday off. Sunday won't be a problem unless the missus has secret plans for me of which I am unaware. I'm excited to meet you guys, finally (and heedpantsnow! 😉). If we were congregating near the airport Sunday I'd invite ya'll to my office to watch some of my laser shows on a planetarium dome.
Vespr is a must. I rarely have business on that side of town for an excuse to stop in. Should we all schlep our boards for a show-and-tell?
Yesssss finally something happening in Tampa. Have a venue in mind? Lots of stuff near downtown and 275.
I've lived in Orlando my entire life and can be available Sunday and possibly part of Monday. I'm also very familiar with a bunch of the Orlando places that have been mentioned. The rock climbing gym (Aiguille) is right around the corner from a pretty good brewery (Hourglass) if that is something people are interested in. I really have not climbed in several years and gained considerable weight, but I can still belay and probably climb a couple 5.6s or something.
I also homebrew and would not mind providing some of my own beers. The neighborhood I live in is across the street from Saigon Flavors (a really good Vietnamese place).
I know of two really good Dim Sum joints (one lunch only, one all day), and basically TONS of other restaurants for basically any kind of cuisine.
The Cloak and Blaster place is really cool to eat, drink, and play games at. I think they also have a lounge area for just hanging out.
Any questions about Orlando I can probably chime in on.
Vesper needs to get his ass in here if we are solidifying going to his crib.
I'd like to to know WTH we are doing. Someone should take photos too. :P
Looks like I won't be back in Atlanta by then :'(
Feel free to take a detour to MA though! :)) I think Vermont should be getting some snow soon.

Whoa! I'm in Nashville too! I had no clue so many other GH members lived here. I'm down for the meetup :D
Any plans for the nashville meetup?
I have a lunchtime meeting with Donald Trump that Thursday to discuss foreign policy. I can cancel, though, te Hoff is more important.
No plans for the meetup yet! I'm hoping mashby chimes in, and with any luck livingspeedbump will be there too so I'm sure we can work something out. As I said in an earlier response, I'm kind of leaning on the locals for some entertainment, since I don't know what there is to do in most of these places. :)

Hah. I am bringing my running shoes and climbing shoes, so I'd be open to either of those activities. I'm guessing you might have been joking, but I certainly wouldn't mind getting a workout in during this time away from home. :thumb:
Look at you guys being all healthy and shiz. I was thinking tacos and beer at Bakersfield :p

And tiger, I'm probably not interested in lifting, but more cardio like running. Or climbing is always good too.
Hoff I'll be in touch if it looks like the 7th will work.
This thread is now my live blog.
Started with 1500 miles ahead of me to Florida. Currently looking at a little over 900. 14 hours of driving today.
Hoff I'll be in touch if it looks like the 7th will work.
Noted. Thanks! :)

Hanging out at HPN's place sounds groovy. I'll bring my Sony Handycam for documenting the ensuing shenanigans. I can also bring some vintage gaming consoles if anyone is interested in some olde-school throwdowns (Atari 2600, NES, SuperNES, etc.).
I'll relist my previous venue recommendations:
In Winter Park: Fiddler's Green (authentic UK food and bar) and several good local java joints within walking distance, Stardust Coffee (across the street from Park Av CD)
Mills 50 district: several fine Vietnamese noodle shoppes, The BART (fancy beers and classic arcade machines)
Waterford Lakes: Vespr coffee shop, more Vietnamese places and other fine eating establishments, Cloak & Blaster gaming pub
Orlando: Gods & Monsters gaming pub/store in Artegon Mall along with a good sushi place (U-Roll), Pom's (hipster-y sandwich/salad/tea place)
Sorry HPN, ya missed the cut off. :( Only keyboard I have is the HHKB.
And if I can't get a bed in Tampa, maybe we could just do another night in Orlando?

Those all sound great. Also there was a vinyl store somewhere that someone mentioned (I don't vinyl, but I appreciate those who do).

He was talking about Park Ave Cd's :D Lineage coffee is also right by there along with Stardust coffee (which I have yet to go to :( ) and also East End Market which has a few good food places in there as well!
I'm all about trying new non-commercial coffee shoppes and eateries :thumb:
There's also a small vinyl store beside Pom's restaurant called Retro Records and Tapes on Bumby Av. And of course there's always Rock-n-Roll Heaven on Orange Av in the antique district. My favourite locale for picking up good records is the flea market, believe it or not. They all need a good cleaning when you get them home but you can find some nice rares there. Gotta support the local music establishments!
^^meet at Ikea ... LOL
Tampa folks anyone have any suggestions? We are coming close. :)
On my way to meet hoffman!
rainb1ood has such a great sleeper collection of artisans. Had no idea he has so many!
Ok, so we Orlando peeps (haha, iPhone kept trying to say "perps") need to figure out our plans for at least tomorrow.
Do you guys want to hang out at my place? We could do something like 1-6pm...you can continue to hang out somewhere else but I will need to put my kids down and get the family ready for the week.
Everyone can bring their keyboards and keyboard accouterments, retro games, etc., and play with all that and/or watch NFL.
We could also grill out, my grill is old but it works and probably has one or two sessions left in her.
What say ye?
I'm also fine doing something else if anyone has other suggestions...we have Monday to goof off too.
any update for nashville?
Mashby are you in charge again? when/where are we meeting up first?

I haven't made any plans for Nashville yet. If people want to plan without me, that is fine. I can just tag along. :)

Whew! Okay, now that I've arrived in Orlando, am resting a bit at heedpantsnow's place and have had time to process, I can share the happenings from this morning.
As you may have read in the itinerary, I grabbed breakfast with rainb1ood in Ft. Myers before heading up to Tampa. We did the usual breakfast things - shared geekhack history, nerded out over artisans (and subsequently freaked out the waitress :)) ), the whole deal. It was really fun, and I'm glad I was able to meet rainb1ood despite the brevity.
But then as I'm packing my stuff back in the car, he hands me one of his Clacks and insists I take it as a parting gift. :O I was floored. I tried to refuse, but of course that was no use. I honestly wasn't even sure what to do or how to react... but thank you rainb1ood, it means a lot. :) I'm a huge artisan cap fan, but it's caps like this that come with stories that mean the most to me. So thank you for that. I will find some way to repay you, someday.

Great to finally meet fellow GH member in real life! That waitress did come back with few questions lol. And also you're welcome, been meaning to give something to a first Geekhacker I meet :P

I think Hoff should inspire us to do some sort of road tour across the US. Start at one point and then 'hand off' to someone else in the area who continues the tour, etc, meeting as many people as they can along the way. It would be great way to see this awesome country of ours and also meet the awesome people that make up the keyboarding community. :thumb:
And then once we get the continental US version down, we work on the International Tour.

Nope, that's Vesper's. I only brought the HHKB and the Flux Keypacitor. :P
I had a lot of fun meeting everyone today! I can't wait for tomorrow :p :p Out on the town tomorrow is gonna be a lot of fun. After seeing everyone's collections I need to step my game up haha
This sounds like an awesome idea. What if like we started maybe from Miami and went across America and ended somewhere in Washington, but at every stop people sign something. Sort of like The Olympic torch , but for geekhack. :thumb:The Keyboard Olympics--I love it! I think we should work on getting a donor board from some company and then we do the signing thing Miami to Seattle, and then auction it off for charity/fundraising. And not open to just GH, but all the keyboarding communities. And if Cherry Germany gives us a board there, we do the same thing across Eurasia.
What would be even cooler if a keyboard manufacturer gave us one and at each pit stop we sign the back of it. CM you're our only hope. :p

Been out-of-pocket a few days traveling myself and this thread has EXPLODED!!!! Looks like an absolute blast.
Several Nashville folks are coordinating things in PM for your arrival on Wednesday. Right now it's looking like meeting up at my office (google map (https://goo.gl/maps/PGfCARu5pxv)) and then carpooling over to the Flying Saucer. Things are still open, so if anyone has any other suggestions for drinks/dinner please speak up! :thumb:

I think both of you had awesome keyboards! I loved them! I was able to try new things thanks to you guys <3
I want to thank everyone that I met in Tampa and Orlando yesterday and today <3
LXXXIX ~ Thank you for coming out! I'm also fairly new to Tampa so I had absolutely no clue what was on that side of Tampa ~ was glad to have a Tampa comrade to keep Hoff company :P Hopefully we can chill more sometime! I wanna try that Novatouch sometime ~~~ Also, I just saw that you and I have a few other common interests, so it will be cool to discuss that stuff in the future too :3
ccarlitos2 ~ I'm so glad to have met you!!! You have always been so nice to me regarding my photos and posts, and you were even nicer in person!!! I'm so very glad you enjoyed my Filco and HHKB! :P Hopefully you can find some stems too so you can mod whenever you're ready :P ALSO, those OREO BALLS, MANG. YOUR BALLS WERE SO GOOD, BRO. I'm definitely going to have to make them myselffffff. Hnnnnnggggg <3
smarmar ~ It was so awesome to have met you! You were unique compared to the other members in that I met you first in person even before meeting on GH (I think!). Hehe ~ Also, thanks to you, I was able to finally satiate my curiosity I had for the Dell Quiet Key, which I had so many times in the past was tempted to buy just to see what it felt like!!! Seriously, I don't know how many times in the past I had added that thing to my cart on ebay, and backed out. So glad to know what it actually feels like now. It really was pretty nice!
danielucf ~ I was so very happy to have finally met you after all these years!!! To finally put a face to the online communications I've had with you in the past was awesome. Thank you so very much for the awesome collection you brought to the meet today. So many nice customs and caps! Not to mention the awesome brew you brought! Thanks to you I was able to try many of the high-end boards that I haven't had the opportunity to try like the Hammer and Octagon! Dat TITANIUM SPACEBAR DOE :P
heedspantsnow ~ Dood. Bro. Sir. You are the man. I can't thank you and your family enough for having me in your wonderful home!!! The grilled sausages and that espresso were absolutely delicious too ~ <3 Thanks to you, I was able to meet up with so many amazing people in a relaxed and comfortable environment. It makes such a huge difference compared to meeting in a public area! I'm also so glad I came because the Model F is something I've wanted to try for so looooooooooooooooooong, and now I've finally tried it!!! It's definitely something that's different enough from my SSK in terms of feel that I may consider wanting to buy sometime in the future when expendable cash is available. Feeels so great to know how it feels tho!!! Being able to actually feel and hear the switches in person is such an amazing experience, and being able to do it without having to drop considerable amounts of cash made it even better :)) :)) :)) Also, thank you for showing me your carbon fiber case! It was so cool to see something so unique and well thought out. Definitely one of the coolest DIY projects I've seen on GH. Hopefully you'll do something like that again, but no pressure! Hehe ~ Thanks again so much for everything.
Hoffman ~ I know we've been friends online for a long time now and I've seen your face so many times online but it was amazing to have seen you in person!!! Not to mention your height, mang. LOLOL!!! That moment when we unexpectedly ran into each other looking for Andy was hilarious :)) :)) :)) I know the tall-thing is getting old but man... I knew you were tall but seeing you in person was an experience in itself <3 I also wanna thank you because it's thanks to your trip that we were all able to get together like this ~ DAT MAGICAL HOFFMAN MOD POWER YO. Bringing us GH'ers together <3 I know I was able to see you for many hours on Saturday and Sunday but it still feeels like it wasn't enough!!! :( :( :( Maybe I need to take a trip to Wisconsin sometime and just chill with you :)) You still have a long ways to go for this trip tho, so I'm looking forward to your posts and seeing you meet up with others on your way up! You're awesome, mang <3 DAT HUG DOE <3<3<3
Chowin' on some gator with danielucf!

Bolton's (http://www.boltonsspicy.com) is right across the street from my office, where we'll be meeting to car pool. They just expanded and have a much larger dining area, so if you've eaten there in the past it's much nicer.
Also across the street is The Family Wash (http://www.familywash.com), which has some amazing food and isn't expensive. Their Fried Green Tomato Biscuit is crazy delicious and Garage Coffee has something called a "Slingshot" (pic (http://l.mashby.com/s4ZX)) that is hard to resist if you like espresso. Just sayin'.
I suppose we can take a show of hands once everyone gets here, but if you have a preference, please voice it.

Family Wash works for me, honestly. Spicy isn't my thing.
I'd totally down for Boltons. I only recommended Flying Saucer for those that want to drink.
Either sounds great then. I'm just over on 2nd Ave, so the drive is minuscule.

How many people plan on showing up tomorrow. I might go ahead and get a reservation to save us a table at Family Wash. I can cancel it if folks want to do something else, but better safe than sorry.

2pm? I'd rather meet later.
Hoff is schedule to arrive at 4pm, so I thought we were all getting together after work between 4 and 5. That's not to say that you can't stop by sooner, but I'll be working and not available until after 4.
I've booked a conference room (http://c615.co/conference-rooms/trillian-room/?space-name=Trillian%20Room) for us to use and show off our boards, caps, switches, etc. When we're ready to head across the street, you can lockup your stuff in my office so that it's secure.
If anyone needs directions, or has an issue, you can call my mobile at 615-414-2014.

Frog leg-cooking PRO TIP:
While the legs are first put in the skillet, dust them with salt and watch them twitch. The muscle tissue flexes as a result of the reaction to the sodium.

Hey, steal me some Doom Caps while you're not drinking your milk. :-X
Alright, I just made it home a couple hours ago. :) I'm still processing the last week and a half, which has simultaneously blurred into a single moment and feels like it began a month ago. I will post a much more cohesive and coherent post tomorrow.:D
For now though, I just want to quickly thank all of the people that indulged and entertained me the last few days, especially those that opened up their homes to me (heedpantsnow, Booper/scubaste, mashby, ImpendingxDoom). I really, truly appreciate it, and cannot thank you enough. I love you all, and all of you are welcome in my home at any time if you choose to travel a bit north. ;)
And with that I enter this coma that is calling my name.

This is untrue. The scientific reason this happens for smarmar is because the legs can't stand to be around such awesomeness without some sort of dancing.
Seeing tiger's iconic board in person was...wow. Pictures really don't do it justice. I know it's not everyone's style, but it's just so well put-together. :thumb:
And of course mashby has his own freaking museum of 60% boards, so...
DAY 02 - December 30 2015
This day was living hell. Everything started off peaceful - driving was calm, everyone was friendly. Ahhhh.....
At some point as I went further and further south, the rules of the road seemed to change pretty drastically. I had always been taught that the left lane is for passing, but this is not the case in GA and FL. Nahhh, the left lane is for going only slightly above the speed limit, while all of the right lanes are for passing (and slow moving vehicles and trucks...). Hmm. Makes sense. This actually worked out GREAT in the middle of the night when there wasn't much traffic, but during busy hours? **** that.
Also, Atlanta during rush hour = hell no. I saw more wrecks in that afternoon than I've seen in the last month or two. And the delays...
All-in-all, this was a solid 16 hour day of driving. Left the truck stop at 7am central, arrived in Ft. Myers at midnight eastern. :| Got second wind, stayed up until 5am. **** me.

Lol. I straight up don't even bother driving between 5-7 on Mon-Thurs, and 3-7 on Friday. Even a light drizzle seems to increase the rate of accidents by at least 50%. One week I worked from home and heard 12 accidents just at the intersection right outside my apartment.
Hoffmannnnn
Stop by my dystopia of Columbia, SC and you can crash at my place, and I'll feed you the best chicken and waffles you might ever have, go record shopping...yadda yadda. Could take a day or two off for ya buddy (or more, as much as you need :) )
And the best part...the time/distance matches up with your schedule :thumb:Show Image(http://i.imgur.com/GpAcJdZ.png)

Yo, that's how we do it in the South! Road rules is for chumps and yankees!
Seriously though, the driving mentality down here is forked up. Sadly, I never learned the actual passing and lane rules for the highway until I started hanging around northerners and driving on road trips. It infuriates me how people drive in FL and drivers get confused when I flash my lights and use my blinker when I'm trying to pass someone in the "passing" lane--I mean "cruising" lane. Clueless--as I once was. :-[
Nice shirt, Hoff :D. I'm trying to get an internship somewhere south of there (http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/se172041.png) this summer, reckon I could come by and see how you do?
I don't know exactly, I just want to live somewhere rural-ish and I hear there are a lot of non-metropolitan jobs in that cluster of states. Maybe Indiana or even Kentucky, maybe Wisconsin. I'll be using the opportunity to drive all around and get a feel for places, so I'm sure I'll be pretty close at some point.
But I might only be able to find an internship in Houston or something, who knows.

At least you weren't driving in Miami. The old people can't walk, and certainly shouldn't be driving. Nobody who took the driver's test actually speaks English (and therefore can't read the manual). And even if you know exactly what you're doing everyone else drives so recklessly that it sort of rubs off on you.
