Title: What's a good place to sell old keyboards besides amazon/ebay?
Post by: soundtester on Mon, 04 April 2016, 12:19:34
Just wondering where would be a good place to sell old keyboards? I think I will be getting new keyboards every month to try them all out but gotta know how to get rid of them as well.

You'll have to wait a couple of months before you can post in there but you need to try the boards out for a while as it takes time to adapt to different switch types, so should work out ok :)

Yeah currently I'm trying to become accustomed to my mx cherry black filco THE THING is that it feels fine when I type accurately like no strain or fatigue HOWEVER when I try to be lazy, it becomes fatigue or harder to press. This reveals that I have been typing sloppily and inaccurately with mx brown switch (previous keyboard).

Not your fault, MX Blacks just kind of suck in general.

I'm trying to like it because the way how it sounds. mx black just sounds amazing to my ears for some reason.

That's a pretty good actor btw but yeah I'm hearing lots of negative things about Mx cherry blacks but I don't care. I like it that's whats important and this keyboard requires me to know exactly what keys I'm pressing which kind of trains me to be as accurate as possible. People can say it sucks but i'm not going to let that persuade me. Good gif.

I have no use for linear switches but many gamers love them.

Ebay will generally pull the maximum prices for you, but you will have to provide concise complete accurate descriptions to ensure maximum visibility.

I've never hear such reaction towards any keyboard before. Really? you dislike it that much?

He's not the only one. A good rubber dome is better than MX black, IMO.

People are almost convincing me that this keyboard is not good for me. Now I'm even considering if I should return this.

Definitely RMA the keyboard.. :)) But seriously, if you need to sell it before you can use the GH market craigslist might work. I've seen a few mechanical keyboards on craigslist and you could probably get a decent amount for it

Don't let others' opinions sway your own though!

If you personally like it, that's what matters -- after all, you're the one who has to use it!

Yea, tons of people enjoy linear cherry mx black switches. It seems like more people here prefer vintage cherry mx blacks

If you like a particular switch and its action doesn't drive people around you crazy I say go for it  :)

I mean, I like the sound of it. The keyboard sounds mushy and nice but then again so many people are saying negative things about it and that kind of plays on the psychology. Maybe I made a bad investment? lol

Yeah it's getting there. I like how there are situations when I can just slam on the keyboard and not worry about it breaking. You know what I'm going to keep it. Black is good and i'm going to stick to that.

Not only low volume , but the kid was tapping the keyboard very lightly so you cannot fully hear the muffle.

The best sounding linear switch is Green ALPS or any linear ALPS switch. ALPS give a really nice full sound compared to the tinny plastic of Cherry. Matias Quiet Linear are good as well but they are dampened so they make almost no noise in the first place.

Well, it's more that everything else is better :p . I've done and have planned many keyboard review videos and every time I get a linear one I compare them to MX black because those are the current standard of linear switch, and almost always the MX blacks come out the loser xD . I think the only one that was worse was Cherry MY, although that one is so bad MX black actually seem heavenly compared to them.

The problem is that linear Cherries are scratchy and badly weighted, tactile Cherries aren't very tactile, and clicky Cherries are among the worst-sounding clicky switches in history, so they don't really do ANY switch really well IMO xD . That said, I've been told many times the vintage ones are much better, and some recent clones are much smoother :) .

Some of them can be modded to advantage - jailhouse green and ergo clear, for example, are far superior to anything out of the box.

I returned the mx cherry black and got my refund already but placed an order on the very same keyboard except this time it's mx cherry reds. I went back to my mx brown switch and no more fatigue. lol but i can't wait to try the mx cherry reds. Glad I returned the blacks.
