MassDrop ALT worth saving or time to build new?
« on: Sun, 18 August 2019, 14:27:43 »
I have a MassDrop ALT low profile with MX Browns.  Its SUPER Pingy... I heard I can put Zealios switches, lube them and add some foam in bottom of case to fix... but if I am going to go through all that trouble I am considering just building instead.

My requirements are as follows:
- 65%
- RGB
- USB C
- Hot Swappable Switches
- No pingy noises, nice solid sound...

1. Should I try to fix up the MassDrop ALT, is it fixable ?
2. If I go and just build something new is there anything else I should consider that meets my requirements (I was looking at the DZ65RGB / DZ68RGB)?

Thanks for any help in advance!

I've never experienced pinging so I googled it and found this video -
weirdly enough his "after" results sound exactly like the tofu I just built and I didn't have to do any of that.  I guess my point is he built that board too and was unhappy - probably the best approach is to really understand what the problem is and fix it.
