Looking for macropad suggestions
« on: Wed, 25 September 2019, 04:56:09 »
Hi

I'm looking for a way to get or make a simple macropad with 6-12 keys, not very expensive.

It will be for media control and some select commands.
So I need to be able to replace the keycaps with custom ones (where do I find cheap special keycaps?)
I can use AutoHotKey so I'm not sure if the pad should be "programmable" or not (?)

Any ideas where I could start?

The MAX Falcon-8 RGB looks good.
But it's big and pricy. And I live in the EU so I think the postage/customs would be expensive
The TREASURE TYPE-9 (SERIES II) looks even better, but I guess it's not being sold yet.

Thank you

In your search be sure to look for "switch tester" or "switch sampler". You'll find quite a few using those terms.

if you have a 3d printer there is quite a few key caps on thingyverse and if you are not afraid by some soldering work there is this custom macropad made out of a cheap numpad : https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=85874.0

Ok thanks
I found this macropad > https://alltrons.com/knops-mini/
Seems pretty good (?) and not super expensive.

It's not in stock.. But if I find something like it, I would just need some other keycaps.
Do you know a good/cheap webshop with a big selection?
Europe is best, unless it's so cheap it doesn't get loaded with tax/customs etc.
