HELP NEEDED!! (while flasing my YMDK board)
« on: Thu, 03 December 2020, 01:37:11 »
Hello all fellow boarders,

I recently bought a DIY kit from YMDK, the YMDK75 with the YMD75 rev3 hotswap pcb with the ISO layout (tall return, short left shift). Yesterday I assembled al the pieces together, and everything seemed to work fine.

BUT DRAMAAAA!!!!!

But when i tried to flash the board with a new layout with QMK toolbox this one could not find the board. Also, in the USB flashing driver program I could not see the chipset drivers (the atmega one), instead it just showed 4 keyboard interfaces even there was only that keyboard plugged.
Here you can read the manual that is provided for all the process: drive.google.com/file/d/1srWxcuAc7ljQaGeITQRq44_xVLCz1Y5o/view?usp=sharing

I attach some screenshots to show what the computer detects.

How can I fix this? Because right now I believe that the board is programed to ANSI because the # key and the return and swaped. And furthermore half of the keybindgs for the underglow won't work either. Only the Q and W with the MOD key seem to work.

Help pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.....  :( :-[

before it is detected by qmk it needs to be reset into boot-loader mode, most programmable keyboard will either have a key combo or a push button to achieve that, once you do that windows will want to install a new driver and once windows has done it QMK toolbox should detect your keyboard (may need to reset it again as windows can take a very long while to install)

In the manual said that Space+B would do the job, but I contacted the seller and he said to use the button. Which is in the back of the pcb. Under a mount of keycaps, switches and aluminum.

Because I did the key combo and didn't work.

This afternon to dismount the keyboard. Again. Yaiiiiiii....

Thanks for the tip :)

It’s a common thing to do with new keyboards. Some in fact, like my Tina C, don’t necessarily even have a physical button, so you have to manually connect the two contacts with a paper clip. All’s part of the fun!  :p

Well, as expected, the button worked the charm and the good person who sold me the keyboard was very nice.

So for someone NOOOOOB like me that ends up here in look for help, the key is that the first time you connect it you need to press the button a the back of the pcb. That will install the drivers, then use zadig to put the libusb-win32 (v1.2.6.0) drivers.

After that the board can be flashed. And if you mess up, don`t worry, next time you can do it with SPACE+B while plugin the board and that will allow you to reflash.   :thumb:
