Hi all, here I am running IC for custom handcrafted braided USB cables as an artisan service should there be enough interest and demand for it.
I aim to provide a premium quality product that complements the amazing keyboards and keysets that are growing in this community.
In the first attempt, I will be crafting this cable around the Botanical theme, inspired by the beautiful GMK Botanical keycaps set.
This means that the cable will be color-matched to the exact colors used in the set.

I have received a green light from Hazzy, the designer of the Botanical set to use the exact color combination on this custom cable.
However, as a disclaimer, it shall be noted that this does not signify any affiliation with Hazzy or the official GMK Botanical GB. This is solely an independent project by me.
Now onto the structure of the cable, it is braided with multiple strands of wires into one single cable.

). Aviator connector will be added in prototype and final product This is my second take on custom braided USB cable, trying to offer something that is different to the market. Aside from modernising the cable with modern features i.e. detachable connectors,
I am also aiming to lift up the quality quite a few notches higher than where I was few years ago.
The format of sale will be likely be pre-order and FCFS only, there will likely be a cap on quantity of orders as this product is handcrafted and requires significant amount of man-hours to complete just a single cable, compared to more common cable construction.
Ultimately, quality prevails over quantity.
This will definitely not be a quick IC as there are lots of work that goes into color matching as close as possible with the wire manufacturer and possibly many hiccups in prototyping before I start taking orders. The prototyping process should begin soon after I gather enough interest to start the project.
As for price, you can expect it around the range of other premium cable offerings, varies with length and options.
