I was swapping space bars between my M's and teh spring bent and bnow its not the same?

How can I replace the spring? do I just pull one out and set in the space bar hole?

You can pull them out, but without tools you won't get them fitted back in. Both are best done using an easy to make tool like this: http://geekhack.org/showpost.php?p=156128&postcount=12

no it was the IBM Model M 42H1292 from 12/1995
