I know POS stands for point of sale or something but I can't help but read it as piece of sh!t some times when I look at the state the keyboard's in. :)

Look at the bottom of the keyboard (below the spacebar). It's lavender (as well as the mouse buttons).

These are used in many IBM POS systems (take a peek at the POS systems at bestbuy or futureshop).
They're rubber dome, standard, and yes, the lavender buttons encapsulate the trackpoint.
